Adding Client Side OnClick To A HyperlinkField In GridView

I have an existing GridView which contains the field "partner name". It is sortable by partner name.Now I need to change the Partner Name field and in some condition make it clickable and alert() something.
The existing code is:

I want to handle the OnClick event on the client side with javascript, i tried using OnSelectionChanged which 's triggering event handler that's being handled in the code behind(.cs). Basically, my requirement is when user clicks on a particular date, i want to pass the date selected value to a javascript function to implement other part of the webpage functionality.How do I handle the onClick client side?

I am trying to get my ListView to select the item that was clicked.
I have it working with a CommandButton in the listViewItem, but I would like to have the item select when the user clicks anywhere on the row.
I need to somehow PostBack or otherwise get the ListView to return to the server and re-bind with data. I just don't know enough about client-side script to get this done.
This is the HTML client-side code of interest. Specifically, the onClick event.

I am having issues correctly setting up reference to javascript code to a custom validator.This is my javascript code in the .aspx page.

And here is where I add the Client Validation to the customer validator in the code behind.

The validation is if there is a value present in the first text box then the second text box is required.The page throws an error when the validation should fail, but if I ignore the error the validation works correctly.Do I need to move my javascript to the code behind as well?

Is it possible to use JavaScript passed by Ajax on the client-side? I am getting an "object expected" error from an onClick event from a HTML control that is passed with the JS. The controls and JS work when the page is rendered on the server.

I am trying to consume a third party web service. In order to access any web method I need to pass session id with soap header in each request. I am trying to modify my header but haven't been successful. I am using proxy in 2.0. I created a separate class which inherits the soap header. I have copied my code but I am not sure how to go about this. How do I attach this header to proxy.

I have a datalist on my page that allows a user to build up with orders. Each time an order is added I post back to the server, updated a dataset and then bind the dataset to the datalist.
I would rather do this on the client, for performance reasons.
Does anyone know of a way I can add a row to a datalist via javascript/jquery?
I understand this may not be possible using a datalist, so any other type of client side list tool.

I am using VS2010, .Net 4. I am trying to add a ScriptManager to my page, so I can reference an AJAX Enabled WCF Service. When I add the ScriptManager control to my page and view it - I get the error shown below. I have no clue how to resolve it. I get the error by simply putting the control on my page (not reference the WCF Service).

Actually, my problem is that I am not able to access the service. I am referencing it inside the ScriptManager and have the javascript code in place, but Firefox is reporting that it cannot find it. Says it is not defined. I do not know how to test this or determine where it is failing.

I have a user control which contains a CustomValidator which is used according to whether a RadioButton is checked or not (there are several RadioButtons, I'm only showing the relevant one)

There is some client + server side validation code (the server side code does exactly the same thing and is skipped for brevity)

There are two instances of this control in the page. When running the client side version it hits the wrong one (the version of the control which is disabled). You can see from the generated HTML both are correctly specified. I'm not sure how .NET works out which clientside function to call given they both have the same name.

Regarding ASP.NET's GridView server control: Can I bind to a datasource in the code-behind, load the entire resultset, and then implement client-side paging without postbacks? If this isn't possible with GridView, I'm willing to implement a custom solution. EDIT: My GridView instance sits inside of a nyroModal (jQuery) pop-up div, which is why I need a non-postback solution.

In my project, In gridview i want to add a client-side confirtmation for deleting a record. Everything seems right, browser asks for confirmation, after pressing "yes", nothing happens in gridview as well at database. What's the missing point ? I got it to work using AJAX Control Toolkit, but I find it a bit cumbersome and rather slow. I want to use JQuery for this one.
What I want to do is when the user clicks on <img>Expand/Collapse</img>, divChild will expand/collapse and that row of the GridView will also expand/collapse according to the size of its content.

I have a gridview.The Gridview is in an update panel.I added a dropdownlist in a template column of the gridview.I have autopostback set to true.I have code working in the selectedindexchanged event all of that works great now I want to add a javascript confirm prompt on client-side change of the dropdowns,I have it popping up the confirm box, but no matter what the user selects (ok or cancel) it does not post back

I have a list box (that uses a SQlDataSource) that has a list of jobs. I have a grid view (that also uses a SQLDataSource) that has the items used in each job. I want to bind the list box value to the gridview on the client side, i.e. when the user clicks on a different job in the list view I want the grid to show the items for that job.
Also, at formload I want the gridview to show the details of the first job on the listview.
