Forms Data Controls :: Binding Formview - Update Personal Class When Change Textboxes And Click Update Button?
Apr 3, 2010
I have the follow form view:
This formview is bound in this way:
protected void Page_Load(object sender,
Persona _persona =
List<SILPA.AccesoDatos.Generico.PersonaIdentity> persona =
FormView1.DataSource = persona;
When the page is shown, the textbox are filled correctly, this textbox are filled with the "primernombre" and "segundonombre" properties from the persona class. After this, If I change the textbox, and after click the update button, I need to update the persona class with the changes from the textboxes, then I call a ActualizarPersona method for updating the database. How can I do for update the persona class when I change the textboxes and click the update button? I try this method protected void FormView1_ItemUpdating(object sender, FormViewUpdateEventArgs
I have a formview in Edit Mode, within an update Panel all and these arewithin a Modal Pop Up extender.On clicking Formview Update button, I want an image to appear within the pop up.I have put the image within another panel1 and runat server.For some reason the image is not showing on clicking update button.
I have a query . I want to edit the grid view columns in which user click the edit button he will edit the column in the grid and after that i want to add update button so that when he clicks on updates button after editing the row. The row will be updated and the grid will show you the new update row.
Basically grid is about that when user enter values intothe grid, the values will show in to the grid upon click button.I added edit button it works fine but it will incomplete without update button method ...
I am *VERY* new to ASP.net. This may seem simple to you all, but I'm really lost. I have a small sized page with three text boxes (part of the InsertItemTemplate) of a formview, and a slightly modified link the system generated to submit the data to be inserted in the database:
If this page is run, it inserts the data into the database fine, clears the form and sits there. I want it to return a simple "Thank you" page in a window of the same size, with a Close Window buttom at the bottom to close the window:
When I set the postbackurl property on the first page, everything appears to work, except the write is never done to the database. If I remove the postback, it works as it did previously.
My gridview works fine without the following code, but as soon as i add this, there is a probleme, when i click on delete or update button, i see no change, it's all the same.
Protected Sub GridView1_RowDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRowEventArgs)
asp.net Code: 'If e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.DataRow Then Dim A As Integer A = e.Row.Cells(13).Text.Length If A > 6 Then e.Row.Cells(13).Text = e.Row.Cells(13).Text.Substring(0, 6) End If End If End Sub
I have a typical gridview/formview master control setup. When I try to update or insert I don't get any errors but it also doesn't work. When I try to insert data all I get are null values and when I update, none of the values are updated. The formview looks like its working, but just doesn't. The primary key is an identity and it auto-increments by one.
...I get an async postback when I click the 'Edit' button for a particular GridView row. This is what I want. In fact, I also get an async postback if I then click the 'Cancel' button for that GridView row which appears after having clicked the 'Edit' button.
However, if I instead click the 'Update' button that appears after having clicked the 'Edit' button, I get a full postback. I have tried almost every GridView EventName
I can find to add to the <Triggers></Triggers> section to get a click of the 'Update' button to result in an async postback, but with no luck.
What EventName should I use in the <Triggers></Triggers> section to get a GridView to do an async postback when clicking the 'Update' button for a particular row?
I have a gridview and when i click on the edit button i will get the modalpopup window which is having a popup window i want to update the data in that details view and refresh the data into gridview also.
i got a problem to update my database which i bounded to datagrid. The problem is, i want to update my database only by clicking one update button at the bottom.. when the user click it, all the fields will be updated to database.
I have a details view with buttons in the footer. When the user clicks the edit button the calls the ChangeEditMode() method. I want to change the mode of the details view to edit mode which seems to work fine. It goes into edit mode with a text box. I also want it to set the visible property of the edit button to false and set the visible property of the update button to true. Then while still in edit mode the user can click the update button that will call the appropriate method to persist the changes.
I got the changemode() to change to edit but can't change the visible property of the buttons correctly. This is what I have so far. Can some one please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I'm using an edittemplate to handle both editing and inserting for a Formview. In Insert mode, the Identity parameter is not needed (and cannot be used in the parameter list). In Edit mode, I need the bound value to know which record to update. So, what I tried to do is set the Text property in the OnDataBinding method.
The result is that the field is bound for Insert anyway, shows up as a parameter, and my insert statement fails (since this extra field messes up the field order of the parameters). Plus, it is always null in Insert mode by definition.
Is the OnDataBinding method too late to clear the property? If so, where can I do this, since PageLoad is too early (the template has not loaded yet and I cannot Findcontrol the field. Or is there a better way to handle all this?
Here I want to assign the above database work to my team members. When I check the above check box and press assign button ,it shows in another page means the gridview selected row shows in another grid in another page .
And once i check any check box and assign , automatically the checked row vanished from my grid view.
I have a gridview on my page. I have a checkbox in each row of this gridview. For each checkbox in the gridview, I'd like to update my table accordingly, but I don't want them to have to hit a submit button every time they check the checkbox. I want them to check all the boxes they need to and at the end, they should hit one submit button.
Have a Formview set up to edit a single record in an SQL table. It displays the record fine, but when you click the "update" link it just appears to do a postback and nothing else.After the postback you're looking at the original record without any of the changes you just tried to make.I went to my Dataset TableAdapter and checked the UDATE query there..it works fine, I was able to change a record.My ObjectDataSource is correctly configured to use the UDATE query--I triple checked all that.
Trying to update a .NET .20 datagridview in the following scenario. A page contains a formview. The formview contains a datagridview and some other fields not in the grid. The formview has its own ObjectDataSource and the datagridview has a separate ObjectDataSource. Each ObjectDataSource has an OnUpdating event. Clicking a Save button triggers the formview update event and the "non-grid" ObjectDataSource updates without a problem. In that same event, I also want to update the grid's ObjectDataSource. Because it's a grid, this OnUpdating event has to loop through each row, get the data for that row and set the UpdateParameter values. A foreach loop can get the values, but how do I trigger the update before looping to the next row?
Should I try calling a different kind of event for the DataGridView's ObjectDataSource? Or is there a way to get all the grid's new data at once as a dataset or datatable and do one bulk update? The datagridview does not have row-level edit/update buttons. It is meant to be an all-or-nothing kind of update.
