How to query a SQL database with 3 field values ( From date, To date and based on a Dropdown Selection)
I use the below code:
sqls = "SELECT * FROM QlyData where Date >='" + txtstartdate.Text +
"' and Date<='" + txtenddate.Text +
"' and '" + supportgrp.Text +
"'";
Supportgrp.text is a Dropdown selection.I get the below error:
Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: An expression of non-boolean type specified in a context where a condition is expected, near 'Database'.

What I have below is currently working on my site to display information within an article. What I am wondering is that within a lot of stories I have more than one 'SchoolID' included. All of these IDs are in our database within the 'ArticleSchool' table and linked to an 'ArticleID.' The statement below is only displaying the first 'SchoolID' listed within an article. Is there a way I would be able to display every 'SchoolID' within an article to grab information from? Will it not work in a label if there are multiple values? The 'ArticleSchool' table has rows for every article and a new instance if more than one 'SchoolID' is attached.

I have one page on which there are 6 labels and six text box for subject apart from this there are 2 to 3 other text box and label for studnt information. i want to do in such a way that if i enter student enroll no i get his/her name ,dept,sem,all subjects on 6 labels and marks related to subject in text box. In table there are fields

has 10 jobs where BEN has 5 jobs.
In this way I want to show specialist his jobs horizontally where the number of jobs may vary per specialist.

I put a dropdownlist in a template field with 4 choices with the values of each to a,b,c,d and when i run the update query i need it to pull from that selected row,and read the value selected in that field. I tried this:

I have a gridview, which on the row data bound method that inserts a row when comparing values on a particular field. If the two values are different, a new row is inserted, if not no row is inserted. This coding is working as a grouping gridview, and is working correctly. However, I have problem, and problem is counting the rows between each group, which I want to display in my blank row between each group, the value of which I am holding in a hiddenfield.
When I try to do it, the first group doesn't show the result, but is displayed on the next group. I am pretty sure that I am doing something wrong. My approach is that if the value between the last row and the existing row are different, then the value is one, on the next row data bound event, if the values are the same then the value is increased by one, else the value is one because it is a new group. Here is my code:

I have three tables in my sql database
contacts
survey answers
respondent_initial
Contacts holds all customer data with custid.
survey answers has assigned everyone how took the survey a number in a field called
respondent_no.
respondent_initial holds input from a webform where I populated it with the custid from contacts and respondent_no from survey answers before the webform input is inserted.I want to send an email to them that had there respondent_no in a hyperlink to the webform so that when they entered their data into the webform it would use the repondent_no to determine where to insert the form data.
Example joe clicks http://www.myplace.com/order.aspx?23
Mike clicks http://www.myplace.com/order.aspx?125
it would look up respondent_no (23) from the respondent_initial table and insert the data in that row in the database for joe's webform entry and it would look up respondent_no (125) from the respondent_initial table and insert the data in that row in the database for mike's webform entry. my code behind looks like this

I am trying to bind two values "start_time" and "end_time" to a text property of a label that is inside of a gridview template field. Below is the html. Trying to use a dropdownlist to query a database so that it will return all values except 1 (or more in future versions).
For example, assume you had a simple table name "MYFRIENDS" which has two fields named "GROUP" and "NAME" with the following records:
Group
Name
A
John
B
Jane
C
Tony
D
Sue
What I want to do is create a DropDownList that has only 2 list items related to the "GROUP" field. The first list item should return records from the database related to Group A only. Then, the second list item should return all other records EXCLUDING those belonging to Group A.
The drop down list should look something like this (I've put a question mark where I don't know what to do):

After the selection is chosen in the above drop down list, it should query the database and return the desired result. I'm using an AccessDataSource with select parameters. Here's a sample of what that looks like:

Things I've tried that didn't work:
I tried using "Not A" as the the 2nd list item's value. I was thinking p1 would be replaced with the value "Not A" and the query would read "WHERE GROUP LIKE Not A". But, the query syntax "Like Not" is technically wrong. I tried changing the Where Clause to "WHERE GROUP p1" and then replaced the list item's value to "LIKE A" and the second to "NOT LIKE A". Again, I was thinking p1 would be replaced to read "WHERE GROUP LIKE A" and "WHERE GROUP NOT LIKE A". I also tried changing the "SelectCommand" itself so that after the dropdownlist changed, it would first change the selectcommand first and then run the query.
Why the first 2 items didn't work became somewhat obvious to me after thinking about it for a little while. However, I would think the 3rd one would/should work... as long as you have the sequence of events correct which up to this point I haven't been able to figure out.
