I have created a Formview1 which have 3 columns Name, Status and Description. I just wanted to update display the Status and Description but not the Name. Can anyone give me any guidelines how I can do this.

View 1 RepliesI have a Formview that is only showing a question, and two checkboxes (True / False). It's cumbersome for the client to have to click "Update" every time they click a checkbox.
Is there a way to have Formview update the data when the page is changed, or form is closed? (I see those events, but know how to force data to update from in them).The application is testing individuals, so 95% of the time the person navigating through the forms will be updating data.
Is it possible to update and edit a record in Formview at the same time. Currently, the formview's default mode is set to Insert where users can add a new record to an SQL database, however, when that record is added I need that information to update another table all on one click. View 4 RepliesI have a strange issue with the FormView. After working through some issues getting the update to work (as this is my first experience with FormViews) I now have a new issue. After I perform an update, and the FormView updates and returns to read mode, if I hit F5 (refresh) the FormView performs another update to the datasource, despite the fact it is read-only mode and none of the fields on the screen are editable.
I would think that a refresh in read mode for the FormView after an edit would simply refresh the data from the database, not perform another update. Again, the FormView is in Read Only Mode, but a refresh is creating another Update event (which I can debug and see if I break in the ItemUpdating event). This only happens after I perform an edit, not when the page initially loads.
I have a FormView that is loaded with a records from my DB. Some of the fields may be blank or null. I am trying to check the value of some of the text boxes to verify that the user has updated the fields prior to allowing a DB update from the Edit Template.

View 2 RepliesI have several places where I have a gridview and dataview set, and when I hit an edit button on the gridview it opens up the dataview. When I hit a cancel button fom the dataview I have this code that returns mew to the gridview:

In my gridview, when in non-edit mode, my edit (pencil) and delete (X) buttons show up side-by-side as expected:

However, when I click the edit button (pencil) to go into edit mode, the update (diskette) and cancel (undo arrow) appear as shown below, and the edit and delete buttons of the other rows appear the same "wrong" way as well.

the problem is the child triggers are not recognising these buttons because its inside a fromview..but on each button click everyting in two update panels are getting postback and doing sql calls...which makes updatepanels useless other than avoiding fullpostback.. how to set a childtriggger for buttons inside a formview of update panel...
all updatepanels are set to ChildrenAsTriggers="true" UpdateMode="Conditional"

I have GV with custom edit box. In the GV, I have a button to select the record for editing and another button to navigate to another screen. I was able to disable the button that navigates to the other screen in both normal and edit mode.
Now, I would like to disable all other buttons that remains visible for the other records list to prevent the user from editing other records while in edit mode.
I think my problem is because I am trying to disable a button that is not visible?

View 1 RepliesI have problem with the buttons Edit and Delete in Gridview for very long time and i really need about it. So the when i click edit i get in edit mode and when click update the values in the row i was changing disappear but only in the gridview. When check in the Database nothing happens. The delete button not works at all, i mean when click on it only refresh the table.
