What I need to do is to compare the values for the previous day to see whether it is greater than today's and then return an image in an Image templatefield in a gridview. Below is my gridview:

Basically, the imgUrl method should return the correct indication in the gridview image template field. For instance if the sprice(which is today's values) is greater then the previous an uparrow should appear. However, I notice that the conditions is not evaluating correctly, for instance the Bank_Name FCMB in the table still returns an uparrow even when its share price is down from the previous day value.
I'm setting up a fairly complex gridview, and running into an issue with allowing some keyboard shortcuts to cause a submission postback. I'm hooking the onkeydown event on all of the editable elements within my gridview (in edit mode, as well as a separate-but-similar set of elements in the footer, used for row insertion), and calling the following function:

The gridview is not populated until after the user has made some input to the page, so I can't just refer directly to MasterGridView.SelectedRow.FindControl("LinkButton1").UniqueID for my eventTarget within the PostBackOptions (if I run this right now, it'll evaluate to "not initialized". But, I don't know how I could get it to recheck the value after the page has been created. There's gotta be a better way to make this work.
I need to build a mini dashboard using asp.net gridview. What I need is to compare values from an sql server database, for instance, if the values as yesterday is greater than today an up arrow graphic indicator should appear and if the values is lesser a down arrow should appear.
I have a boolean column in a datagrid that I would like to display as red/green image (I have already created these) instead of false/true. Or maybe I could display the "True" in green text and "False" in red text. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I have an asp:label field for and expire date that should either display "Never" if the database field ([msDS-UserDontExpirePassword] this is a bit - true/false - field) is True, or otherwise display a date (pwdExpireDate).
My code doesn't throw any errors but I can' fully test it without putting it into production. Can someone tell me if this is correct? Also, there is no code-behind and I can't use code behind for this.
I'm using a GridView to retrieve data from a stored procedure using a SQLDataSource (db is SQL Server 2008). When I compile my application and go to my website, all the data is loaded and shown fine. If I was to add a new entry to the table however (a seperate page on my website has a Wizard control to facilitate this) and then return to the page with the GridView, the new entry doesn't show up.
Looking from SQL Server, the data has been added, but the GridView isn't updating to show it. If I were to recompile the project with F6 and refresh the page, the new data will show up. I tried calling DataBind() on the GridView in the Page Load event, however the issue still remains.
I have a GridView in ASP.NET. I have an Edit CommandButton for every line in the GridView to edit the data on that line. All of this works fine except for the fact that when the user clicks on Update, it does not update with the correct value that the user entered. I have this as a Template field with the textbox to edit bound to the field, so it updates when the user changed the value and clicks Update. However it does not work. I have tried almost everything and its very frustrating. Here is the code for the Data Source:

I have a page with a detailsview. Not all the fields in the select statement in the connection are present in the detailsview. I'm not sure if that is relevant. But what I want is for the page to evaluate two bits of data from the record it is loading. I have one field called "Controlled" which is a bit field and a field called Username. I am getting the current user by using this code.

I have problems with GridView control which has template field with checkbox in it. My primary concern is that same code works for all the other GridView controls I have in different webforms, but not in this one.
This code is supposed to get the identities (ID column in GridView) and then get the values of first two selected and finally redirect them to another webform as querystrings. I double checked the GridView and they are identical (except they are binded to different datasource).

I have a GridView with a Template Field set to Checkbox. Issue is; when I click the asp:button I placed beneath the GridView to update the database, I do not get a checked value on the returned button. So it just skips my code and nothing happens.

I have a gridview with 1 field that is setup to display my clients content from the DB. Within their console, i have setup to allow them to enter that fields data with HTMLEditor.The field is setup with HTMLEncode = true but anything done to the text is being displayed as actual html code on the site, so all the html tags are shown and so on. Nothing has changed on the site now for about 2 months( with the actual .aspx pages ) they are only allowed to update the content. Can anyone tell me what i can check or change to insure that the content is displayed correctly to the browser?here is the aspx code for that field:
I have 2 gridview controls gathering data from 2 different tables and I want them to line up on the screen so they look like one big table.
Each table has the same number of columns but the 1st columns on each grid view don't line up. Both are set to 200px, all other columns are 40px. The data in one has say 5 letters in the 1st one and 25 letters in the second one.
Is there a setting I need to use to make each column 200px?

I have a Master Detail page with gridview that has a clickable link that queries a database and return the detailed values. How would I go about having an indicator such as an image or a pop up or just text that diplays while the database is being queried and if no detail data is avalible it would indicate that also.
I have a simple page where I am listing records from a SQL table in a GridView. All seems to work except that users could not create records. So I created a seperate page where users can add records. This is a form with fields that user fills in and click on the submit button. Code-behind VB takes care of sending the data to a SQL Stored Proc. I am trying to "reset" the DetailsView in View1 to ReadOnly mode if the user changes the index in RadioButtonList. Currently, it is working correctly for the first pass and second pass, but fails at the third pass. I want it to just cycle through the DetailsVIewdatabound event, but the cycle breaks on the third pass and I'm not sure why?

I have a page which displays details and a pictures of employees. The details are stored in a SQL database and the images are on the server. How can I set a default Image to display (e.g. an Image saying "Awaiting Image") if an employee picture is missing?
I can't use NullImageUrl as the Images are not stored in the database. I can't use the solution found on [URL] as an ImageField does not accept an ID attribute.
I want to create a search form for a table that has many columns. According to input criteria the query will have a where with conditions related to the columns selected or NONE. How can I create a dynamic query according to selected conditions ? is there an example on the net that I can use?
