I need to list URL records from DB and bind data to repeater, therefore I put hyperlink inside repeater control.
I want to fire 2 events when a Visitor click on hyperlink
1- It Update DB Record that this link clicked one time
2-Open URL in new windows
I have a user control that displays a shopping cart in an ecommerce application.
The main cart display is a repeater that renders as a html table. In one of those table columns, there is another repeater to display people associated with the products int he cart (it's a repeater in case there is a line item >1 with multiple people).
I've added an ImageButton that I want to use to change the person associated with the item. At first, when I'd click on it I was getting this error:
Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.
So as an experiment I disabled EventValidation on the page (not the control it's self) and now I do not get an error, but I also do not ever hit the breakpoint I set in the innermost repeater's ItemCommand event.
So I wonder how I might do this without disabling EventValidation, because this control will show up on multiple pages and we don't want to edit them all. Also, I'll need to know not only the repeater containing the control's row that the event came from but also the row index of the repeater containg this one. Is this possible?

When the button is clicked the method tsbTest_TriStateButtonClicked executes correctly.
The problem is when I put the user control in template field of a GridView.

There is no way to hook the event handler to the control in Page_Load because I cannot get a reference to tsbMorning. So I did it in the RowDataBound event handler of the GridView, where I also do a bunch of other row-specific stuff. Although this builds and runs, the event is never actually subscribed to and so never gets fired.
So the question is - how can I handle an event from many instances of the same user control within a GridView? I am calling the same bit of code regardless of which user control is actually clicked. I only need to know that one was clicked.
I need to access a control inside a repeater and change its properties. To enable it or not. I got an erorr message Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Here is my code inside a method. protected void

When I place the repeater inside a user control INSIDE ANOTHER user control and onto the page this works - the property is correctly set, if I inspect it inside the EnsureChildControls() method of the custom control the composite control's Value propertyis set to Eval("value") as intended.

There is one employee, so the first two accordions is working fine from toggle up and toggle down
SCENARION 2:
There are 3 employees, for the first employee the first two accordions is working, but the rest are not.
So the problem here is when I click the accordion of second employee it does not toggle down but the first employee's accordion is going down.
What I want here is each employee can toggle down and toggle up their own accordions, even though that accordion don't have data.
what changed do I need to make to my code for it to achieve what I'm after.
At the moment I am getting a "cannot cast to type" error message with the below code.
I have also tried calling the ItemDataBound method in with the parent repeater tags and had no errors but when I clicked on the button it would just move back to the top of the page and would not hide or show any data. Also I have made the div style to none but the first record still shows its child but the rest don't.

i have a a public property in my masterpage, I have a repeater on another page which has a hyperlink, when i click on it, i need to give the masterpage property a value based on the hyperlink clicked. View 1 RepliesI have a Repeater displaying some data that doesn't do what I'd like to see. If a certain condition is met (ex: parent.NumOfChildren > 0) I would like a hyperlink shown. Here is what I have so far:

In this case, the "View Children" link shows up for every item in my Repeater, but I'd like it shown only if parent.GetNumOfChildren() > 0. Would it be correct to try setting the Visible="true/false" property of the HyperLink? Is that the norm for this sort of problem? Or, is there a way to wrap the entire <asp:Hyperlink> ... </asp:Hyperlink> tag in an if statement that has a reference to the object that is currently being interated in the Repeater? Ie:
if(CurrentDataItemInIteration.GetNumOfChildren() > 0)

}
To me, the Visible="true/false" solution seems cleaner, if possible.
