I am using C# and VS 2008 with access database. I have a nested gridview (2) with two access database tables. Date1 (takes System date) is the primary key in table1 and also present in table2 as foreign key. User data is stored in gridview 2 w.r.t to the date in gridview1. What i am tryin to do is to mail todays date (System date) data of Gridview 1 and data corresponding to it in Gridview 2 to a specific mail id.

I have a gridview and a lable on a page...
In the gridview I have a column called "% of Points" and another column called "total of pot". Outside of the gridview I have a label called (label Total) and it has a total amount of £6335.
The idea is that as each gridview row is created, it will check the amount in the label and based on the % amount in the % of points, it will work out the total of the pot (£6335) each row has. So for example, paul would have £1583.75 in his total of pot (25% of £6335 = £1583.75)
Anyone know how I should go about doing this? I presume I'd need to do a find control for the label, but not sure where to go from there.

I am trying to access an SQL server2008 database from a VWD 2008 express GridView. I create the SqlDataSource and connect it to the gridview and thenn run the page and it is not rendered on the page. Visible is set to true.

I am running a Access Database and I have a Intranet site, Administrators can post News to a table in the Access database and Intranet users can see the news when they go to the Intranet site.
Any important/companie news is posted to the Front page and the user can access the news vie a link.
BUT;
if there are more than one post when the user clicks on the link they can only read the first post.
When they click on the 2nd link the first post opens but the Activity ID from my table in access changes!
The Activity Id changes but the page content does not, I am using form view on the Activitydetails2.aspx to view the news table

i granted ASP.NET account the sql server database access but ASP.NET seems not able to coonect to the database. I normally do this from code in windows XP, but its not working on my windows seven. i guess it should be something close to NT AUTHORITY in place of the MACHINE/ASPNET account which i have tried anyway but still not working.

I have a gridview and a css file that is giving it a style,colors, font style etcThe gridview is showing blog comments in it.If someone posts hyperlink in the blog comments, the gridview width gets increasedOnly in mozilla the hyperlink is getting wrapped and works fine but in I.E, opera, safari, chrome and all other browsers the wdith of the gridview is going out of the page.In my css. style sheet also i have defined width:.grid

I have been looking to see if there is a simple method that would allow me to get the contents of a cell when I mouseover it. I can't seem to access a label that is outside the DataList. I wish to add the data in the label into a database, aswell as data that is inside the datalist (this is already working though). My SQL-query with only the specific label looks like this at the moment:

The data is added to the database when pressing a button inside the datalist (using onItemCommand). If I write UserIDLabel.Text the regular way it doesn't work either. The label is in the MasterPage, while the datalist is in a .aspx-page. If it is possible to somehow access the data that is in this label and add it to the database I would be ever grateful. Or is it somehow possible to add data that is in a Session and add it to the database?

I have to display data (names) in a random order on the website. The data is stored in a MS Access database. The names must be displayed in a GridView and DataList in different places. I have created a query in MS Access "zorder: Rnd([MarinaAccommodation]![ID])" which works fine in MS Access giving me a different order each time.
The problem is that when I try run it on the website the order remains the same, it does not change each time the page is loaded.

I have a page with a Listbox and GridView.
The Listbox has a list of students. The Gridview has a list of classes offered during a period, such as:
Math Science English etc. When I click a student in the Listbox, I call a sproc via Linq, and get the ClassID and ClassTitle that student is registered for.
What I need to do is Highlight the record in the GridView that matches the ClassID or ClassTitle returned by the sproc.
Previously, I used a ListBox for the Class Offerings. This is easy with a Listbox using the FindByText method:

I'm getting problems to update a database table shown in a gridview using a stored procedure.
My table has 3 columns and my stored procedure is something like:
spUpdateMyTable(@column1 varchar(20), @column2 varchar(50), @id_table integer)
as
update mytable set column1 = @column1, column2 = @column2 where id_table = @id_table
The stored procedure works perfect when I try to execute it in the SQLServer query analizer, but my problem is when I call the sqldatasource update command.
When I do that, it seem that there are problems whith the parameter's names...
I'm doing that whit updateparameters.Add(parameter) and parameter is created whit the same name, tipe and the value that Is shown in the gridView.
I'm looking for in the msdn but everything I founded was about doing that through an update query but I need the stored procedure.

I have a nested gridview which has been working fine. Now I need to turn the inner gridview off based on some condition: a IF block is added to the existing RowDataBound event of the outer gridview. Now I'm getting "the Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error. What should be the proper way to go about this? The code:

In addition, is there a way to "switch" columns of the inner gridview? For example, column 1 is "City", column 2 is "Price". If user selects to sort by "Price", I woud like column 1 be "Price" and column 2 be "City". Is this has to be done programmatically or if there's other way?

Really new to C# & Web developing - but have used the DAL & BLL model from a number of the turorials. Have a situation that I not sure the best way to accomplish. I have an application dealing with courses, books, etc. utilizing an Access Database. All was going well in creating an on-line catalog using Formview and tables to display the db values stored in the Course Table (Course ID the key). User is able to use dropdown list to locate the course - dropdown list showed the Course Nbr & Name, but used the Course ID to get the detail. This issue appeared when they introduced a Prerequisite field in the Course Table. This contains the Course ID of the prerequisite course, but they want to display the Course Nbr and Name in the table field. So today it show 18 (Course ID) and they want B101 Intro to Biology. Hope I have provided enough information of what the code looks like below
