Newbie here, I'm trying to setup a webpage using the following tutorial posted on this website:http://www.asp.net/(S(pdfrohu0ajmwt445fanvj2r3))/learn/data-access/tutorial-07-cs.aspxThe problem is when i try to add the fields on 2 columns on my table and then populate a dropdown list with the concatenated columnie. my table has the columns ID and Name. I want to display it as:"ID - Name" in my dropdownlist in stead of just Name. eg: "AB - Treatment Centre"I've been googling and so far the only solution i've come across is to generate a TableAdapter with the following query:
I have a question in gridview, I want to combine my two or more records into a single cell with two rowsfor Example i have a ID, Name, Year Start, and Year End for Column name in database and i want call it into my gridview that the Year Start and Year End will combine to Year like:

I have one database in which student enroll no with his sem is stored . I want that if i enter stud enroll no then in dropdown list all the sem related to that stud should come. My database

i have one master table containing names of city and id. i have another master table containing routeid , destination (id of city from city master), departure (id of city from city master) now i have to display in dropdownlist combine names of departure and destination for selecting route to create schedule. i have to do this using LINQ.
I have a page in which i need to show data in the form of a grid. Each row in the grid is made up of 2 sub-rows, the first sub-row consists of a dropdown, a textbox & a textarea. Whatever is entered in these controls should be displayed in the second sub-row in the form of labels at runtime (i.e. using javascripts)
There can be multiple rows like this. The grid would have a max of 30 row, not more than that. create this which one would be better, in terms of performance & complexity, a GridView or a DataRepeater?
I want to display gridview column heading when mouse over to the particular column in the gridview.I am working in VisualStudio 2005 with MS.Net2.0 framework.I don't want to use ajax.
I am not able to find the projects related to working with excel sheets by using ClosedXML to refer. I have an excel book which contains two sheets.
In sheet 01: In column A: In B: In C:

now, I would like to see in two comboboxes (all the words/text presented in the column A) from two sheets, the student name and course name and then I want select any student name and course name of my choice. Afterwards, when I click on a button, my program should display the students phone number and the course name (from column B from both sheets) and related things present in the Column C D E.. of the selected things in combobox in a label or a in a textbox.
PS: I solved the following problem: I can select student name in one combobox and print the the corresponding data from the only one column B (but I worked only with one sheet). It is bit complicated for me to continue with two sheets.
Now, what i want is that , when a user select something from any dropdownlist , a fuction should be called in which I can get column and row of that dropdownlist.
I can get the dropdownlist's id in that function along with row and column of dropdownlist.
What I have is a GridView with a DropDownList in an ItemTemplate (not an EditItemTemplate). My datasource is not a control, rather in the code-behind.

My main problem is that VS is not seeing that I have the dropdownlist, meaning I can not access any of the events in the code-behind. What I want to do is, when the value of the DropDownList is changed (SelectedIndexChanged), I want to grab the value of the RowIndex of the GridView.
I've been trying for the past few hours to add mutliple headers to my grid view but keep failing to get it to show. There's plenty of examples online that I found but can't seem to get the most simplest to work. Below is the code I've been using with no success. I even tried changing the "TableCell" o "TableHeaderCell" but still yields no headers as expected. Anyone know what I could be doing wrong?
I am trying to display a gridview with element names bound to a datatable (transformed from OracleReader) and also display two contact dropdowns inside the gridview. For each record in the datagrid i want to display these dropdown lists that will also be bound to two different datasources. How would I accomplish this?
