Oct 24, 2010I have 2 columns (name and address) in a gridview which are defined as linked buttons. Now when i click on a record in the first row (name) i am able to pass that value (selected name) to another page with rowcommand. Now i am trying to click on the second row (address) on a record but am not able to pass that value to the second page. Don't actually know how to define this in the code below. The first row (name) has to redirect to one page (this what i have already accomplished) and the second row (address) has to redirect to another page

Forms Data Controls :: 2 Buttons On 1 Page - Set Either As Main Button
Aug 23, 2010I have 2 buttons on a page. 1 does some calculations once data is entered the other, which is at the top clears the page and opens a new one to enter an estimate number and once that is done it opens the calculation page where the 2 buttons are. What is now happening is once the user enters a percent value to do the calculation they just press enter, instead of tab, and it activates the new estimate number button instead of calcualte button. All works in the correct tab order but the default button seems to be the New Estimate button instead of the Calcualte button. any way to change that?

Mar 15, 2011Can WebMatrix handle two or more submit buttons on one page? I am from an ASP.NET WebForms background where this is no problem. One button updates a row in the database. Another button deletes it.One idea is to use one submit button and one non-submit button, and then use jQuery to fake a submit. Haven't thought this through yet.

Forms Data Controls :: Trying To Set Default View Of Multiview On Page Load Programmatically
Jun 30, 2010I need a way to change the ActiveViewIndex of a multiview control based on some query results. Right now I test to see if I have rows returned from my linq query. If so, set a certain view active. If no rows are returned, I would like to set a different view active. I would like to do this on Page_Load if possible.
Right now I get the fatal "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error on page load with it bombing at line 12. My count is given a value at runtime so that is not the issue. Can anybody tell me why this is and how to get around it. Code is attached.
I also tried this both the pre render and Page_Init event but both yielded the same behavior with the Object reference not set to an instance of an object error. I can do this just fine in an onclick event for a button, but now I need a way to run a test and set the default view when the page loads. Seecode below

Jan 28, 2010I am listing about 20 rows, each row represents an Order.Each row needs to have 3 buttons, each button click will perform a different action.I have 3 actions to handle each button post request, I am just unsure how to setup the Html forms for each button.

Custom Server Controls :: Creating Multiple Buttons During Render?
Mar 17, 2010I have a control that displays a list of comments. The comments are created in a loop. The problem is that I want to put a LinkButton at the end of each comment and change the CommanArgument of each button to the ID of the current comment.
When I put the Linkbutton in the CreateChildControls method and then add the CommandArgument in the Render loop, the button works, but the argument is blank. When I put the code that's in the CreateChildControls method inside of the loop, I don't get an error, but nothing happens when the button is clicked.

I want to then go through a list of these buttons and change the colour of them depending on another value retrieved from my database. How can I get a list of the buttons that have been created on my update panel. What would be the best method to update the colour as soon as they have been created? Would I use the preRender to create the button objects and then use the form load to update their colour or is there a better way of doing this?

Sep 23, 2010I want to dynamically build a table where each of the first three cells may or may not contain an image. If a cell contains an image, it may or may not contain a radio button. The last cell contains a button or link button. I want all the buttons to be handled by the same click event. The number of rows, which cells will have an image, and which cells will have a radio button is not known at design time. Finally, the images are displayed using the better image control.
I'm trying to get this to work usinging a repeater, but at the moment I can't get the radio button checked propety to change from the default value. I'm using an arraylist as a datasource. I thought of using a gridview, but I don't know how to add a radio button and a better image control to a cell.

I added a second and third as well by copying and pasting the previous two ModalPopupExtenders and their respective Panels. The first one still works, but the other two do not work at all. I have verified that I changed the names of all controls on the ones I pasted. Is it not possible to have more than one pair of ModalPopupExtender and Panel on the same page?

The GridView is setup to display data in pages if the number of rows is more than 20.Here is a scenario that I need resolved:When the user selects an item the GridView displays 2 pages of data. The user selects page 2 to view its contents. Next the user selects another item that also has 2 pages. By default the GridView remains of page 2 when it is refreshed with new data. How do I ensure that the GridView defaults to Page 1 when the user clicks on another item? The GridView is databound to the control that the user selects.

I would like to process them as a 'group' so I can do something like loop thru them, checking if each one has been selected to build a list and also be saving them to a table row, etc but it seems all the designations as a list or group make it mutually exclusive. just looking for better coding than checking them with an if statement or similar so the question is if there is some way to designate the radio buttons as a group but no force the group to be mutually exclusive
