Forms Data Controls :: NestedGrid Fires Page_Load Twice?

I have a web page with a nested grid. I bind the nested grid via the outer Gridviews RowDatabound. The problem I'm having is when a user click on a CommandField in the nested child grid the Page_Load event is fireing twice and reloading the grids, making it appear that the nest grid collapsed. I have tried using "If Not Page.IsPostBack" but because the page posts back twice the IsPostBack is false until the second time the Page_Load event fires.
Here is my Page_Load routine

Page_load event fires two time in firefox and the same page is working fine in IE. What might be the problem? If it is problem with Autoeventwireup then page_load event must fire two times in IE too. I believe it is not a issue of Autoeventwireup.
how can i find out exactly where the issue is.

I have a dynamically created user control which is accomplished usingLoadControl().
When I debug, the LoadControl call is called once, however the Page_Load inside the user control is called twice. On each occasion, the postback property is false, so it seems somehow the Page_Load event is called outright 2 times and nothing to do with any postback?

I have noticed that window.onunload event fires off AFTER page_load event which makes no sense.
This behaviour is creating an issue for me - in my unonload I clear the session, so if the Page_Load first BEFORE onunload, there are errors on the page displayed.
I would expect the javascript onunload to fire BEFORE Page_Load....is that the correct assumption?
TO CLARIFY: Let's assume I am on page test.aspx, then I click on the link that goes to the same page (say I click on a menu), what I observe is that Page_Load fires first, then onunload fires off.
Makes no sense at all.

I have a page which contains linkbuttons and panels. all panels have DetalilView and gridView controls. On click of linkbutton, panel's visibility is set. everything works fine on my local server. But on production server, no events of Button, DetailsView and GridView fires.

I've tried to wrap up my problem with a complete example below - the original problem is part of a jQuery plug-in that I'm writing to extend the behaviour of an ASP.NET ajax application I already have.
The aspx page below has one drop down list which is marked for auto post back. I've also bound a change event using jquery (which ultimately I will swap for a .live() event to maintain the binding after the update panel refresh.) The problem is, when the jQuery event is bound I see two ajax begin requests and page_loads fire but only one ddlTest_OnselectedIndexChanged event. One of the page loads is malformed too - the content-length states it's about 300 bytes long whilst the totalBytes is 0 and form data empty. This does not happen if I bind to the click event of a button.

I have a CustomValidator and has ServerValidate handler that does custom user input validation against values in database. The key point is the validator is inside of DetailsView. Using Asp.Net 2.0
Issue:
The ServerValidate handler is firing twice when I click a button inside the DetialsView. I am injecting a javascript to show my custom error message in a dialog. So due the event firing twice the dialog appears twice.
Reason for this behavior:
I am sure there isn't anything in my code doing this. It is how the DetailsView and Button control works. Similar issue is listed
here and "DenGn" has given some explanation.
I don't know if anything really exists that can stop this behavior. What I am going to do is use a counter and store it in session, then do the check to see if it is the second time fire, not to inject my script.
Does anyone have any better solution or any other valid reason why this is happening and how to stop it?

I have editing enabled gridview. I m basically calculating many columns in rowdatabound event of gridview. For this i m using templatefields with labels control inside them.
Here is my c# code-

It doesnot cause any problem. But when i tried editing and click on edit button of my grid. It throws error in rowdatabound event's second line starting with decimal rejp.
Message- Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Am i missing something or should i have to use any other event to handel editing in this case.

I am using radiobuttonlist and textbox in the gridview. I need to do operations on radiobuttonlist so that it should reflect on textbox . this is to be done after gridview_rowediting event fires i.e when we can see "update" and "cancel" buttons. I tried like this,

The problem is that BindHeaders is called multiple times. I was expecting it to fire only once since a very similar code I used to customize the GridView control to use our mapping utility on the headers works this way.

I have one UpdatePanel which contains search criteria controls for a GridView.
The GridView is in another UpdatePanel.
I have a reset button in the search criteria UpdatPanel which resets all the search controls to their default values. However when I click this button for some reason my GridView RowDataBound method fires.
This is slowing the page down when the reset button is clicked. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it. I haven't posted the code and explained it in plain english for ease of reading.

I have a listveiw populated from a List<> in the code behind using the following code:

The page displays the images from the list<> and button ok but nothing happens when i click it other than postback. Furthermore even when i set up a test button wich changes the ListView.selectedindex the ListView.SelectedIndexChanged event never fires even though i can read the selected index and see that it has changed.
I'm guessing that it's something to do with using a list<> from the code behind to populate the listview but i must confess to being completely clueless.

I have a GridView that binding on Page_Load, and that is not the intent. Ideally, the GridView only loads on PostBack.

The bindClientDropDownList, by the way, does not call SearchResultsGridView.DataBind() on its own, so that can be ruled out.

all of a sudden my GridView has stopped firing the row update event. Friday I was working on it and was working flawlessly. Now I haven't made any changes to the code and all of a suddent has stopped working (yes rediculously bizarre and have been banging my head all day thinking what the something is wrong with it, excuse my french).
Everyone of those events fire except the update. I click the update button and nothing happens.

I ask for a date, on OnTextChanged event i bind data with a SqlDataSource to a dropdownlist and also bind data to a repeater passing the dropdownlist SelectedIndex (i use SqlDataSource too and ControlParameter to link the dropdownlist and the repeater) On my repeater during the ItemDataBound event i create dynamic dropdownlist controls, my code is :

On the Page_load event of my page i bind the data & recreate the control :

Everything works fine, datas are bound and SelectedIndexes are restore on every postback.
The probem occurs when user change different dropdownlists, if he choose to change the 1st dropdownlist the event is fire (normal), after if he modifies another dropdownlist the event is fire twice, if he modifies a 3rd time the event is fire 3 time etc...

I have visual 2010 with net 3.5 web app. I was implementing EntityFramework in my project and added a gridview to a entity source control. It worked ok, with select, update, and delete buttons enabled on the grid. But then, i needed to add a template field bound to a Foreign table, so my users select value from a list instead of writing the code. After that, my app fires error when i delete. I tried everything, inclue dakeyNames, write code on my RowDeleting, RowDeleted, RowCommand, but error persists.
Now, i can delete the row, but it then i get the error Object reference not set to an instance of an object If i implemente delete code on RowCommand i get the error: Store update, insert, or delete statement affected an unexpected number of rows (0). Entities may have been modified or deleted since entities were loaded. Refresh ObjectStateManager entries.

I have a set of 4 buttons which part of a gridview template and I load the gridview on page_load. The datasource for the gridview comes via my controller as I am using Microsoft's Model View Controller design pattern. I set 4 public properties for each of the 4 buttons, which I can access in my controller class/method. However, when I call the method for the gridview, which sets the datasource for it on page_load, I get an error message when I try to set the enable to false. It says "Object not set to instance of object". The objective I am trying to do here is a check on a returned value, which I can achieve, and based on the return of the value that is returned, to either set the button enable to true or to false.
Unfortunately, I am getting this Object not set to instance of object error message, and I do not know how to resolve it.

I have discovered something strange when using a ListView. I have a listview contained inside an uodate panel and everything works OK until I edit the editItemTemplate to use a LinkButton instead of a Button.When i use a LinkButton then the Page_Load event is fired.
