This is the table (DataTable) I want to DataBind to the chart control:

I want to represent this table in a chart control. How can I do this and make my code dynamic?
I've an asp menu on my site. I need to dynamically populate this from my database depending on a choice made by the user.
Basically, when entering the site the User chooses a product category and this selection determines the options in my menu. I'm totally lost as to how to populate my menu each time the user changes their category - I've only ever hardcoded in the values to a this menu type so I've no idea how to programmatically populate it.
From what I can gather, it seems that its best to populate the menu via XML - if this is so could someone post a sample of what this XML structure (or let me know ehere I can view this)
I would like to programmatically hide/unhide Individual Menu items.
How is this best accomplished. I see that intellisense does not have a visibility attribute for Menu1.Items(1).
I have a dropdownlist in EditItemTemplate and InsertItemTemplate which I want it to populate at the runtime while Inserting an item or Editing an item.
I am facing an issue regarding populating a dropdownlist dynamically while in Edit and Insert mode. There are 0 Records in my table and it shows "Empty Data message" in my Listview control. Even the ItemDataBound event does not fire. So I am not able to find the dropdownlist in that listview.
This is my Aspx code which shows only InsertItemTemplate and EditItemTemplate.

We have to develop an application which has a Vertical left pane menu control which displays all the web pages (A,B,C say). Now if user is in page A and filled some data and clicks on menu control to go to page B, all the data in page A needs to be saved. Also if all the required field in page A are not filled and user navigated to page B, there will be one ! sign after the menu so that user can understand that there some some more fields need to be filled up.
We are planning to place the menu control in the Mater page. Please give me some direction to do this. My question is:
1. If user change menu (In Master Page), how should we save data?
2. How should we display the ! in the menu control?
I have 3 dropdownlist controls for use with capturing birth dates. One captures the month, the next the day and the next the year. Rather than having to use 3 different xml files to populate the controls I want to be able to use just 1 xml file, but I haven't been able to work things out. I thought this would work:
<dates>
<date month="1"/>
<date month="2"/>[code]....
I thought I'd be able to assign the datatextfield of month, day or year to a given control, but this isn't working. They show up in the datatextfield dropdown in properties, but when I try to view the page in a browser I get an error that tells me the field (i.e., day) does not exist. Is there a way I can accomplish this? I am developing an ASP.NET 2.0 site in VS 2005.
I'm trying to programatically reference a FileUpload control which I have within an ItemTemplate. I get a 'Name FileUpload1 is not declared' error message. Code below:

how to populate an existing XLS from .NET?
I have a "template" that I need to fill - not generate a new document from scratch.
For reasons, I have an <a> tag in my master sheet rather than an ASP link. I want to access this html control from the server when a post back happens and change its style sheet. I have tried many a thing but as yet am still unsuccessful.
in short this is what i can't do but want to...
page.form.controls.item(0).sytle = "bob"
..but can't.
I am using the ASP.Net menu control to load the menu items defined in a DB table. The menu items are arranged in the order defined and made visible according to the role settings given. This means that a particular person logging into the system can view only those menus that were given access rights to the role that person represents.
The present control just displays in a horizontal or vertical fashion on hover state. However I would like to customize it so that it appears in a fashion similar to those appearing in the Office 2007 package. ie, if we select Home, we can see all the items under home displayed just below it. This is always displayed until you change the menu item, say to Insert.
Is this possible with the ASP.Net menu control? If it is not, is there any other way I can achieve it. In any case, the menu items must be visible strictly based on the role access settings defined in the DB.
I would like to restrict what they see in the file upload dialog, which is set to "All Files" by default. I understand how to validate that they only uploaded a certain file type, that is not the question here. I would just like to know how to default the file type in the file selection dialog.
Is there any way to change this to "PNG only" or "*.png"?This is using AsyncFileUpload in the ASP.NET AJAX Control Toolkit.
Short story: what can I replace asp:Menu web control so submenu items can be viewed in (a) Safari (iPad) and (b) IE8.0 NOT in compatible view. Need simple solution so non-Java script dummy can do.

I am stuck in chart controls...Here is my prob... There is a ListBox containing some items...when user selects multiple items from the list box I want to generate a dynamic table with the number of columns same as that of the number items selected in the listbox. And for each selected item I want to show a seperate chart in the columns...Currently I want the same chart control for every selected item (i.e. a static hard coded chart that i will replace later by dynamic values)....I am using a method that draws a chart control using a sample dataset... I am calling it each time when a new column is created..Also the DrawChart method executes for the first column only and throws an index out of range exception! after the first execution...my code is not working...here

I have a detailsview control which I use to enter data and save to the database. The control is connected to the db through a objectdatasource. When the insert is successful, I want to set some variables and redirect the page to a different one. The detailsview control has AutoGenerateInsertButton="True". I don't know how to access the insert button click event in the code behind,

I want to delete location path using parameter textbox .. example : I enter name of location path in the texbox when i click button delete then location path in web config will be remove..
<location path="page1">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<allow users="ADMIN" />
<deny users="*" />
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>
This may be a very dumb question but I can't seem to get it working. I use at many places the following syntax for dynamically binding a property of a control in aspx file to the resource entry, e.g.
<SomeFunnyControl Text="<%$ Resources : ResClass, ResEntry %>" />
I want to do a similar thing with a class containing some constants, something like
<SomeFunnyControl Text="<%= MyConstantsClass.MyStringConstant %>" />
But this doesn't seem to work, it simply sets the text to the exact expression without evaluating it. I am using ASP.NET 3.5 btw.
I have tried the databinding approach but I get an HttpParseException saying Databinding expressions are only supported on objects that have a DataBinding event.
I want to delete location path using parameter textbox and allow user ..
example :
location path = textbox1
allow user = textbox2
explanation : i enter name of location path in the texbox1 and allow user in the texbox2, when i click button delete then location path based on parameter textbox1 and textbox2 in web config will be remove..
this below my web config
<location path="3pm.aspx">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<allow users="testing1,testing2,tunggal ,usertest" />
[Code] ...
So far this is my code for deleting location path using parameter name of path , yet to parameter allow user ..
protected void DeleteLocationPath(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
string path = Server.MapPath("~/Web.Config");
XmlDocument xDoc = new XmlDocument();
xDoc.Load(path);

I have created my menu items using web.sitemap, asp:sitemapdatasource control and asp:menu control. I'd like to programmatically remove some of the parent menu's based on certain conditions (I'm guessing it will be under the MenuItemDataBound event).
I know how to remove child menu items, not sure how parent menu items can be removed.
