Mar 25, 2011I have a "UserDetail" table in my "JobPost.mdf". I have a "Gridview1" showing the column from "UserDetail" table,which has a primary key "UserName". This "UserName" is originally saved using Membership class function. Now I add a "Delete" linkbutton to the GridView1. This "Delete" is not autogenerate button,I dragged inside the column itemtemplate from ToolBox. The GridView1's columns now become "Delete_LinkButton"+"UserName"(within the UserDetail table)+"City"(within the UserDetail table)+"IsAdmin"(within the UserDetail table)
What I need is that by clicking this "delete_linkButton",it will ONLY delete the entire User Entity on the same row (link by the corresponding "UserName") from the "UserDetail" table,as well as delete all information from the AspNetDB.mdf (User,Membership,UserInRole,etc). I would like to fireup a user confirm,but not mandatory. At least I am trying to make it functional in the correct way.

When I click "delete" on the first row, I need all the record about "ken" inside the "UserDetail" table to be removed. Meanwhile, all the record about "ken" in the AspNetDB.mdf will be gone, including UserinRole table. I am new to asp.net, so I don't know how to pass the commandargument of the "Delete_LinkButton" to the code-behind file LinkButton1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e), because I need one extra parameter "UserName". However, I can't figure out how I can do this, or whether or not I should actually do it in the .aspx file. The field that I am going to check for validity is called invalid, and is a bit. Mar 6, 2011I have visual 2010 with net 3.5 web app. I was implementing EntityFramework in my project and added a gridview to a entity source control. It worked ok, with select, update, and delete buttons enabled on the grid. But then, i needed to add a template field bound to a Foreign table, so my users select value from a list instead of writing the code. After that, my app fires error when i delete. I tried everything, inclue dakeyNames, write code on my RowDeleting, RowDeleted, RowCommand, but error persists.
Now, i can delete the row, but it then i get the error Object reference not set to an instance of an object If i implemente delete code on RowCommand i get the error: Store update, insert, or delete statement affected an unexpected number of rows (0). Entities may have been modified or deleted since entities were loaded. Refresh ObjectStateManager entries.

Mar 26, 2013in my module there are data of students for H.S.C., C.E.T, AND H.S.C+C.E.T. so when i run the gridview page all the data of all streams together is displayed so i sort the data using a dropdownlist...means if 1 select the H.S.C in dropdownlist only the H.S.C students are being displayed.so the problem is when i sort the data by selecting a stream in dropdownlist at that time the error message of required field validator is displayed...
1) I wil select the stream from Dropdownlist and click the "sort button"
2) After the data is been sorted and i will enter the values in the TextBox and if i'll miss any of the textbox blank and i click on the "submit button" after dat the error should be displayed
as "Required".

Nov 18, 2010How do I reference the delete button to add the delete confirmation box when I have both the Edit and Delete buttons as the last two columns in the Gridview control. The following code works fine without any issues when I have the delete button only:
