I have a gridview that displays the current weeks scheduled games. Ideally I have added a column to the end of the gridview that I would like display 1 of 3 values. If the game has already been played I would like to display the score of the game; if the game has yet to be played I would like the column blank and if someone on either team has indicated that they can't make the game I would like to display a button that says "subs needed" and take you to another page to sign up to be a sub. Can this be done? I have been able to change the background color of the line based on the two boolean flags from the database using the RowDataBound event handler but I can't seem to find a way to set the value of a specific field in my row. (The background is set for the whole row.)

I want to add my own set of functions into my GridView. For example, I have a help desk management module that displays all the help desk tickets in a GridView. When the tech is finished supporting the customer, I want him/her to click the "Close Ticket" link in the GridView to close the ticket.
I've never used the ButtonField feature field before so I thought this would be perfect but I'm a little confused about getting the TicketID in the GridViewCommandEventArgs method. I thought I could just put the TicketID in the CommandArgument and pull it from there but looks like I can't do that as ButtonField is not giving me the CommanArguement option.
I'm not displaying TicketID's in the GridView because they're "uniqueidentifier" datatype and look ugly. How do I pull the TicketID if I were to use a ButtonField? Or is there a better way to do this?
I already have a method in my DAL expecting the TicketID so all I'd have to do is get the TicketID and call this method.
In the application I am working on there is a Gridview with a select and on clicking the select we get the value of the DataKeyNames.
Basically we have OnSelectedIndexChanged="GridIndexChanged" in the Gridview property.
Now the problem is that I want to add a ButtonField with a Commandname, so that I can call a different method. In the OnSelectedIndexChanged it's simple to get that value by doingGrivView1.SelectedDataKey.value, But how can I get the value of SelectedDataKey in the Button Click?

I have a usercontrol that has a gridview. I have a few boundcolumns and then a buttonfield. The buttonfield needs to have a confirm message box and then proceed to the RowCommand event. In the RowCommand, I'm trapping for a CommandName called "DeleteFile".
The weird thing is everything works correctly with deleting a row if the onclick code is not registered. I'm using attributes.add for this.
I know there is another option for using a templatefield and then a button rather than a buttonfield. But, I've noticed that this approach causes a postback that effects another usercontrol on my page. It thinks I've submitted it which can either cause it to error out or potentially sumbit more information which I want to avoid.

I know there are a number of posts along this topic, but everything I find seems to not have a final solution or else I'm just not getting what the solution is. I have a simple GridView with a ButtonField and a BoundField. I'm having the same problem most of the other posts seem to have; I can retrieve the BoundField value easy enough in the RowCommand subroutine, but I can't figure out how to get the value of the ButtonField. I have a gridview with a column for tracking numbers. I would like for the user to be able to click the tracking number in that column and it open another browser window to the site with the tracking information. I have tried Hyperllinkfield and I cannot get it to open the website.
View 7 RepliesI have a gridview with a ButtonField. When I leave the button type as the default LinkButton, clicking that button fires the RowCommand and everything works as expected. As soon as I change the button type to ImageButton and assign an ImageUrl, clicking that button does not fire the RowCommand.
View 4 RepliesMy admin set innodb_buffer_pool_size=512M, innodb_log_file_size=128M, and innodb_log_buffer_size=1M although in mysql query show global variables its showing what the value is set. When i restart my system also its showing what we set the data.(It means we set log file buffer file size to max and its working fine.) but when i try to upload a file of 58 mb again its throwing error as The size of BLOB/TEXT data inserted in one transaction is greater than 10% of redo log size.

View 3 RepliesI want to embed a silverlight app into a web page and have the height/width of the div that contains the silverlight control match the dimensions of the actual size of the silverlight control.
I essentially want the div to stretch to accommodate the size of the silverlight control. I do not know what size the silverlight control will be before it loads as it is pulling in data and adding controls dynamically. I want to avoid dueling scroll bars and use only the browser scroll bars.
I need this to work in both IE and Firefox.Is there a way to accomplish this?
I have 2 gridviews in an aspx file. The First one is master grid, and the second one is detail grid. (such as Customer and it's Invoices) First, I load data into master grid. I use FireBug and notice that every row has it's row id, such as:

Then, in master grid, I select a buttonfiled in a row to load the second gridview.Every thing alright, the second grid has it's row id But The master grid lost all row id that I dont know the reason why?
I have an asp:Table. Its with is 100%. This table has only one row but 6 columns. The width of first 5 column is fixed at 150px. The last one does not have its Width specified and so it takes up the rest. The whole row has a background. If any of the first 5 column is clicked, the background of that cell is changed to white.In my development computer, the last column has about 250px. Yet in user computer, as the monitor has a smaller resolution, the last column has only 30px or so. User complains it is ugly and wish to merge the last column with the previous one. How to do so?

I have the following .ashx page that takes some query string parameters and returns a bitmap with the specified text written on it. The problem I have is that I am currently just manually setting the initial size of the bitmap at 100 X 100 when what I really want is to have the bitmap be just big enough to include all the text that was written to it. How can I do this?

I am using an ADO Entity Model for my ms-sql database.
My database has a Resellers table which has ResellerID (primary key, int) and Name columns along with other data.
I also have an Orders table which contains OrderID (primary key, int), OrderDate, ResellerID (foreign key to Resellers.ReselerID).
If I just do a query like:

I am able to reference order.Reseller.Name just fine with no problems.
However I have an EntityDataSource on my page as follows:

Notice the Include="Reseller" attribute in the datasource... I also have a GridView tied to that datasource as follows: I cut some of it off for breavity:

Now what I have listed above will run with no errors, but what I want to do is replace the column that displays "ResellerID" with the equivilant to order.Reseller.Name. In other words I want my grid to display the reseller's name rather than the numeric ID.
I have tried to change the DataField to "Reseller.Name" but that will generate the following error:
A field or property with the name 'Reseller.Name' was not found on the selected data source.
Is there anyway to do this without me writing a custom select statement in my code behind?
I've got a gridview that is databound with LINQ in the code behind. One column shows the id from the table. I would like to show a more human friendly product name that is associated with that id number but is from another table. Thought I had it figured out by entering a Template field in the gridview tags (in the .aspx page) and an item template within that with
<ItemTemplate>
<%Eval(Products.productName")%></ItemTemplate>
but when I try to build it says this can only be done in the context of a databound control.
Can I add this column within the gridview tags or does it have to be done from the code behind?
You know how when you put your cursor over the line that seperates 2 columns of a grid, the cursor turns into a 2 headed arrow and allows you to adjust the width of the column? How do you allow this with a gridview?
View 4 RepliesI am new to asp.net and was trying to use datagridview in my webform. I was able to bind it to my database but I cannot make the datagridview's buttonfield respond. It seems the grid's SelectedIndexChanged event is not being fired or has issues with postback. Even a very simple statement is not being executed by the program e.g.
