I am having an issue with using a GridView template that contains an imagebutton control. my current ASP code is as follows:

My application allows a team captain to enter the results of an 8-ball game then submit those results. In doing so the captain is brought to the next page to enter the results of the 9-ball game. But, there are games every week so there is a dropdownlist on both of the forms allowing the captain to select which date he/she is entering the information for. There are 14 weeks with the date displaying as the text value.
After the user selects the appropriate date and enters the results of the 8-ball game he is brought to the next form but he has to select the date again. Both forms ddl selectedindexchanged event enacts a whole lot of code which is required to allow the processing of the data.
I can capture the selected value from the first form and get it to the next form for 9-ball and even set the selectedvalue correctly, but that doesn't trigger the selectedindexchanged event. I want to put some code in the pageload to pass the selectedvalue to the selectedindexchanged event and trigger it to run with that value.
Is this even possible? I haven't been able to google my way out of this perdicament despite many hours of effort. And I know that users are going to spend 20 minutes entering all the data before realizing that they forgot to select the correct date in the ddl. What to do?
I am using fancyBox Scripts to display a link in IFRAme.
script for FancyBox is
<pre><script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#various1").fancybox({
'titlePosition' : 'inside',
'transitionIn' : 'none',
'transitionOut' : 'none'
});
$("#various2").fancybox();
$("#various3").fancybox({
'width' : '75%',
'height' : '75%',
'autoScale' : false,
'transitionIn' : 'none',
'transitionOut' : 'none',
'type' : 'iframe'
})
});
</script></pre>
But till now i have used anchor tags <a> to invoke or trigger fancyBox Script. i.e <pre><a id="various1" href="#inline1" title="<b>Dr. abc</b>"> View Profile</a></pre> But now i want to trigger this on Asp buttonlink or Image Button.
I have a gridview that is inside a column of another gridview and I want to modalpopup a window when selectindexchanged in the nested gridview. I am having troubles getting the datakeyname of the selected row in the nested grid; here is the HTML:

and I am not sure how do I get the row value in this function:

I have a GridView with a TemplateField where I'm hosting a button. The button has an event hanlder OnClick, so when it is clicked it will execute some code.The problem I'm having is that when I click the button in a row, the Button event handler is not excecuted right away. Instead, the GridView selectedIndexChanged is fired and then I need to click my button again to fire the button's event handler.So, is there a way I could know if the button or the row was clicked in the GridView SelectedIdexChanged event? And why the Button's event handler is not firering right away?

Can someone show me how this is done in C#?
I am new to asp.net (I may use some incorrect termology while I explain my issue...) and need some help with DropDownList in Gridview. Currently I have a GridView set up with three Columns bound to a database: Column1 - some kinda of index, Column2 - string, Column3 - DropDownList(called Active). So far when I build the page, all the columns show up and the DropDownList appears and the values are bound correctly. I want to change a value in the DropDownList and automatically update that value in my database.
I have set AutoPostBack = true and I made a DataObject (called UpdateActive) to update the database (it takes 2 inputs, the Column1 index and Column3 DropDownList value).However, I don't know how to find the row that I am changing, is there a way to figure out what row it is (like finding the Column 1 index?). Also, I don't want to have to click a button to update the data.

how can i populate the detailview in insert mode with values from gridview on selection?
Filter by date:
<asp:DropDownList ID="DropDownList4" runat="server" AutoPostBack="True" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource3"
DataTextField="CDATE" DataTextFormatString="{0:D}" DataValueField="CDATE">
</asp:DropDownList>

I have a GridView, with a DropDownList as one of the Columns. I can get the SelectedIndexChanged method to trigger - but I cannot figure out how to get other Data regarding which row this triggered on i.e. if I could get the value in the ID column (DocID below), that would be great. My code is a bit too long, so I am just posting snippets. In the *.aspx file I have:
[Code]....
In the *.aspx.cs File:
[Code]....
I am wondering if I can get the DocID from within StatusDropDownList_SelectedIndexChanged - so that I can make appropriate changes to the Database. For e.g. in the RowDataBound event, which I had a GridViewRowEventArgs e, I could easily do e.Row.DataItem - to get the DataItem, I am wondering if I get/do something similar in the SelectedIndexChanged method. (I would prefer this be not the GridView Row Index i.e. I would prefer the DataItem if possible.)
I have a gridview containing a template field. The templated field is an image button. In code behind (page load event) I want to get the imageurl from the first imagebutton in my grid.

View 6 RepliesI have a gridview that has a column with an imagebutton. That image button event calls my update procedure and merely updates that records status and when the gridview rebinds, the image changes and is no longer available.Whats happening is if the page is refreshed, the update occurs again. If i add this around the update code, works great the first time, but then any other updates are ignored.. is there anyway to know wether the page was refreshed vs actual imagebutton postback?
if (!IsPostBack)
{
}
Since the update is just setting a flag for that record, on another page that displays those records for a seperate department. IF by chance the first page is still open and the 2nd department resets the flag, if the first page is refreshed, that flag is reset again. so its creating some inconsistant results..
I have a checkbox placed inside a gridview:
<GridView><asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Driver"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:CheckBox ID="CheckBoxDriver" AutoPostBack="true" OnCheckedChanged="GridView_Persons_SelectedIndexChanged" ValidationGroup='<%# Eval("ID") + "-" +((GridViewRow)Container).RowIndex %>' CssClass="CXDriver" runat="server" Checked='false' /> </ItemTemplate> </GridView>
For example: A listViewItem 1 has 3 drivers are checked, A listViewItem 2 has 2 drivers are checked.
Therefore, if changing the selectedIndex of the list, the checkbox indexChanged event will be fired.
How could I disable the autopostback of the checkbox during the listview item changed.
I have an image button in my gridview which I'm using to open a new window.
The code for my image button is:
[Code]....
This works fine, in that a new window is opened correctly, however, clicking the button causes a blank row to be added to the top of my grid.
I have a gridview with a ButtonField. When I leave the button type as the default LinkButton, clicking that button fires the RowCommand and everything works as expected. As soon as I change the button type to ImageButton and assign an ImageUrl, clicking that button does not fire the RowCommand.
View 4 RepliesI am trying to create a custom GridView with a header toolbar at the top that will contain icons to export the grid view to different formats like excel, word, etc.. The problem is, I cannot get the method to fire that is assigned to handle the click event for the corresponding Image Button. The page posts back, but the code I have in the method to handle the click event does not fire. I have followed examples in other posts and from what I can tell I have followed what others have done. Can somebody take a look at see if they can find something that I am doing wrong.

In a gridview I have a TemplateField containing an imageButton defined as:
<asp:TemplateField>
<HeaderTemplate>
HeaderName
</HeaderTemplate>
<HeaderStyle HorizontalAlign="Center" />
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:ImageButton ID="imgName" ImageUrl="./img/img.png" runat="server" style="cursor: crosshair;" OnClick="imgName_Click" />
</ItemTemplate>.......
Now the odd thing at run-time is, whenever a client-side mouseover event is triggered, the app does a full postback. That happens only in firefox.
I have imagebutton in gridview and I used below code for it...
protected void Imgstatus_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) {
ImageButton Imgstatus = (GridView2.Rows[0].FindControl("Imgstatus") as ImageButton);
Imgstatus.Visible = false;
}
it just run for first row of grid view because of (GridView2.Rows[0]..I want it run for all row of gridview so instead of [0] what should I write?
