Forms Data Controls :: Show A Grid View Control That Is Initially Displayed To Allow The User To Enter Multiple Records?

Jan 19, 2010

I want to show a grid view Control that is initially displayed to allow the user to enter multiple records. This grid view will not be tied to a database nor will it need to save the data that is enter into the GridView Control directly to a database.

Data Within DevExpress Control Not On Initially Active Tab Doesn't Get Displayed

Aug 7, 2010

If I place a DevExpress ASPxComboBox or ASPxTextBox within a JQueryUI tabs widget, any data that is within a DevExpress control that is not on the initally active tab does not get displayed, although the DevExpress controls themselves are (they are just blank). Removing the tabs functionality for testing (by not calling the JQuery, the html structure remains identical) results in the DevExpress controls working fine.

Forms Data Controls :: Any Grid: Multiple Records Per Row (as In ListView) But With Formatted Textboxes?

Dec 2, 2010

I am building a retail shopping website and want multiple db records per row - e.g. 2 records per row side by side. Each record will have an image, a couple of labels from the database to state Item title / name, description etc and I need to add a textbox for the quantity. In clothing section a radio button for size and another textbox for item colour. I will then add a button (any button) to gather the info (recordID and textbox input) and take me to the shopping cart.

Problem: In ListView I get the multiple records but can't get the data from the textboxes: In Gridview I can get the textbox data but can't get multipe records per row.Which grid should I use to get both of these features working?

Forms Data Controls :: Show Grid View Dynamically At Runtime?

Jan 11, 2011

I have a gridview, in an update panel, that's populated by an object data source when the page loads. This same Grid View is going to use a different data source and slightly different columns collection at runtime. The columns collection will be very similar, with one column added and three removed. Is this the best way to do this?

The other solution would be to create another grid view and data source to use when needed. The two Grid Views can be toggled off and on to use the correct one as needed. I've done this and it worked well, as far as I can tell. I'm curious if there are performance implications because of the additional Grid views and data sources. Or, if there are other reasons not to do this.

Which of these two ways is the best way to do this? Should I toggle between the two Grid Views at runtime or modify the grid view(datasource and columns) at runtime in the code behind?

I am doing a online web application whereby user is able to enter in new template as well as search for template. The Add template is located outside the grid view and if user clicks on the button, it will load the grid view that is populated with data as there is a row of empty fields at the bottom. Forms Data Controls :: Trying To Incorporate The Use Of A Dropdown List Control With A Grid View Control?

Sep 24, 2010

I'm trying to setup a page that will utilize a dropdown list control inside of a grid view control using VS 2005 2.0 version. Everything that I can find online seems to only show the use of the dropdown list control using a data grid. I don't want to use a data grid because it doesn't have the functionality/ power as the grid view control. how I can incorporate a dropdown list control with the grid view control? Here is a copy of my code.
