View 6 RepliesDebug-Start Debugging/Debug-StartWithoutDebugging OR Project ASP.Net Configuration launches Dreamweaver. It started lastnight, I had both Deamweaver and VWD 2008 express open at the same time - (I was looking at JQuery in the Microsoft and Dreamweaver enviroments simultaniously). After the first tie this happened, I closed down Dreamweaver (CS3) and it opened when I tried to run my VWD project. I reinstalled VWD 2008 express, IIS and disabled Dreamweaver (renamed the exe). Dreamweaver still came up.
View 4 RepliesWhile i am running my asp.net application , it show an message that Unable to start a dubug on webserver. Unable to Connect Webserver. Verify web server is running and that incoming Http request are not blocked by a firewall. My application is configured with local iis. Early it is working peoperly. Some time it wil not show when we edit iis property. But right now i can unable to proceed my application by running.
I checked some forum with post of same issue. But still my problem not get solution yet.
Not using Cassini, but IIS7 to run an ASP.NET app.
The debug behavior is flakey. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I was able to step into the application start event in global.asax but sometimes I can't.
Sometimes VS2008 opens the published global.asax so I have two instances of global.asax opened in VS, the source and the published.
I reset the AppDomain and IIS and I can't put my finger on why this is happening.
To add, while it won't go into application start, I have an OnChangeEventHandler event - it does step into the event handler.
I have installed SQL Server 2008 at my machine.
When trying to debug....i am getting following message...
"Unable to start T -SQL Debugging. Could not connect to computer AMIT. The workstation service has not been started."
Code]....
for example it just starts notepadn my development pc i'm using Win7 and when i deploy the app onto my local IIS7 it works and i can call notepadWhen i run debug mode with VS2010 it works too!

What is the right approach when users (authenticated domain admins) should be able to start batch jobs (usually exe files) from an IIS (7.x) aspx (c#) page? This is an intranet site. The batch jobs have to run on the web server as Domain Admins. The website pool is executed by network service or some similar restricted account in AD.
Approaches I can think of (and their disadvantages):
1. Start exe file with System.Diagnostics.Process.Start with another account. This feature is disabled in IIS 7.x, how do I allow it?
2. Create a sheduled task and call scheduled task-api. This unmanaged dll is giving VS compiler warnings because it's unsafe to call from managed code.
3. I suppose there's a better approach, because the previous suggestions doesn't appear safe or robust.
This is happening only in my system. when i do a build it just works fine but when i try to debug the service i am getting the follwoing error. please let me konw what would be theissue.

I still get the error when try to debug

I tried to run my WebApp on my local machine today (nothing has changed on it) and I had the above error. I know my machine had a windows update recently (not sure if that has anything to do with it).
The error produces a big print out of css styles and html markup.
In the markup it also says "The requested page cannot be accecssed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid".
When I restarted IIS (for some scenarios check) - It stopped working, and gave me a page telling me to check the event viewer, there I get the following error:
aspnet_wp.exe could not be started. The error code for the failure is C0000142. This error can be caused when the worker process account has insufficient rights to read the .NET Framework files. ensure that the .NET Framework is correctly installed and that the ACLs on the installation directory allow access to the configured account.
This is NOT an ACL problem.
We have a ASP .Net based web service setup and hosted on a IIS v6.0. We wish to turn on custom error and disable debug mode. I understand these can be accomplished by modifying the web.config and machine.config file. However, since web service does not have a UI...please let me know if the changes made to the config files will take into effect. The reason why we wish to do these changes is because, our external auditors have flagged these as a vulnerabiity.

I get error message "Unable to start debugging on the web server" in Visual Studio 2010. I clicked the button and followed the related suggestions without success.
This happens with a newly created local ASP.Net project when modified to use IIS instead of Cassini (which works for debugging). It prompts to set debug="true" in the web.config and then immediately pops up the error. Nothing shows up in the Event Viewer.
I am able to attach to w3wp to debug. It works but is not as convenient as F5.
I also have a similar problem with VS2008 on the same PC. Debugging used to work for both.
I have re-registered Framework 4 (aspnet_regiis -i). I ran the VS2010 repair (this is the RTM version). I am running on a Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 box.
I do have Resharper V5 installed.
I installed vs2003.net on sbs2003 with IIS6 (.net framework 1.1) I created my first app, put a label on webform1 and run the project (debug)
1 - messagebox: "Error while trying to run project: unable to start debugging on the web server. The project is not configured to be debugged (I did a lot of searching, found tons of so-called solutions, but neither works)
2 - run the project from the menu Start without debugging. I got a server-error: <authentication mode = Windows in web.config)
Two questions:
a. when the app runs under VS.2003 it uses IIS ?
b. if not, why doesnot run the app ? if so, which website it uses in the IIS-manager (is that the Default website or other ?). What happens when I delete all the websites in IIS-manager and run the app in VS2003 ?
I am trying to run my application on IIS 7 and Windows Vista Home Premium. I am getting the following error "Debugging failed because Integrated Windows Authentication is not enabled". How do i resolve this issue?

While writing to the SQL Server database, I might encounter the below error message:
"Error 823I/O error <error> detected during <operation> at offset <offset> in file
'<file>'"This error message may occur every time when I start SQL Server and access the MDF file.
When debug a project, then error message show:
"Error while trying to run project : Unable to start debugging on the web server. The project is not configured to be debugged."
I am getting an error "Unable to start debugging on the web server..." while running as web application in VS2005. But the error seems only for this application. I created a test application, both in VS2005 and VS2008, and found no issues in running these applications.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to register the route collection in .net based on each session. The code I have works fine, you goto website/username and it loads the correct sub pages, but you have to restart the application to goto website/username2 to load those sub pages. But when the application is restarted the second one works, but then not the first one. Is there some way to create a different route collection per session not per application using system.web.routing.
