I would like to send json data from a HTML table to the ASP.NET code-behind and update the data in and SQL Server database. The code and JSON for the TableProductToUpdate() is below.

my function returns a datatable. But I need to convert the datatable to JSON.

But I'm not sure this is as good and as fast as it should be. I am sending to client side a JSON string format, but I think maybe there is a better way of doing this. I know there is JSON.NET
but I didn't see there any converting for DataTables.
Does anyone know how to get a csv url file and convert it to a json object so that I can use google charting tools in js?

When user clicks a button, a stored procedure fires which runs an update-table query (not pulling any parameters from the user) and returns a count of the number of rows that were updated when the query was run.
Within my stored procedure I have the parameter @RowCount=@@ROWCOUNT.
All sample data I have found online has been C# or VB, but nothing that I can apply to my asp.net program.
Again, this is a simple task that for whatever reason I cannot find examples of online.

i want to build a datagrid bound to a datatable with several columns. One column has only a dropdownlist with the number of the rows in the datatable.

I know how to bind the columns to a grid and its no problem to create such a dropdown list with the content for me, too. But i dont know how to sort the complete datatabl after changing one value of one dropdown listbox.
So, how can i resort the values of a datatable column based on a given value and the datarow id?

View 1 RepliesI'm new to Jquery, JSON and MVC, and am trying to create a json object that contains AD info from an AD query. The ad query is working fine and returning data and I have 2 overloaded implementations of it.
#1 is a method from an older .net app that builds and returns a datatable that we bound to a grid view control
#2 was a modification of #1 that returns a System.Collections.Generic.List<> type. #2 returns data ok and i can display a table in the MVC view
however, I'd like to get the data results into a json object so i can bind it to a jqGrid object that has similar functionality to the old .Net server controls (Delete, Update, Sort) Here's the new method that's part of a C# static class:
