[Code]....

However, I have a problem. I want to do the following;

1. Let them Login

2. Let them Logout

3. And I want to try and use this code into a Global Variable

What is the easiest way possible to do this, as I do NOT want to use the Asp.Net Login facilities already provided.

Web Forms :: OnActivate Not Firing In Wizard Complete Step

Nov 10, 2012

In the final step of the wizard control, I have got a method for the OnActivate event but for some reason everytime I click Submit on the second last step (steptype = Finish), it does all the adding to the database but does not seem to fire the OnActivate event as the Summary page does not load (the same page refreshes). Is there a way to check if the event is firing or better what the problem is. I have posted some part of the code below:

Wizard Step

<asp:WizardStep ID="Summary" runat="server" OnActivate="Summary_Activate" Title="Summary">
'asp controls (mostly labels) to display the summary
<asp:Label ID="lblirstName" runat="server" />

Security :: Prevent User From Seeing Complete Text In CreateUserWizard1_CreatedUser?

May 12, 2010

Using vb.net/asp.net 2005.

I am modifying an existing page where I am doing an insert into tables, adding an email address for the team, both fields input from the user.

However, Each email can only exist once for a given team (I have a unique index constraint in my code) so when this exception happens I am showing text something like "you cannot add the same email address for this team" and I am also changing the following property of my CreateUserWizard:

[Code]....

before this it was displaying something like "you have successfully created your user..."

However if the user attempts to add the same email address again for a given team I want to prevent the user from registering.

Anyways, my question is that its good I am hiding the "successfully created..." text however I am still seeing the following:

1. "Complete" word

2. A button with the text "Continue" on it.

I also need to hide both the "Complete" text and the "Continue" button.

This is confusing to the user because it suggests that the user was created successfully but this is not the case in the scenario I described.

Security :: Trying To Create New User With Create User Wizard And Getting Name Already Exists!?

Sep 8, 2010

I am using a create User Wizard for registering a user and have converted it to a a template to capture additional information. In the CreatedUserEvent handler in Code Behind I am getting the UserName of the new user and their unique GUID key. This is then added to a seperate data table with addditional info captured from the user. The textboxes within the create user Wizard have validation controls. If the user has missed an entry these fire and it shops the process of creating the user.

BUT If I then complete the textboxes and then click submit it says the USER NAME already Exists! This is not what I want as the User just needs to correct the errors in the form and they should be able to keep their iniital User Name choice. Do I need to change the Event handler and if so am I still able to capture the USerName and Key so that I can add the data to the other non membership table.

C# - Skip Authentication For Certain User Agents On IIS7?

Aug 30, 2010

I'm writting a software in C# and .NET to manage my store, which has a site where you can go and opt in to receive a sellers person visit. This site has an behind the scenes manager, but I want the software to do this instead, effectively removing the browser manager and the first step towards this goal is to allow the software access to a PHP script that generates tha XML file required.

The problem is, the login mechanics, written in C# and using web.config, doesn't allow the software to access the said script, which is inside a protected folder for the browser manager. I already tried using HttpWebRequest object, WebClient object with lots os combinations of post, credentials, streams and even a special user-agent to try and login, without success, I can only download the login page.

Here's the code I'm using to download data at the moment (That's my latest try, using the special header):

string agent = "AGENT"; //Not real name, it's just confidential
WebClient client = new WebClient();
client.Headers["HTTP_USER_AGENT"] = agent;
client.DownloadFileCompleted += new AsyncCompletedEventHandler(DownloadFileCompletedEvtHdl);
client.DownloadProgressChanged += new DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler(DownloadProgressChangedEvtHdl);
if (!Directory.Exists(toSavePath))
{
Directory.CreateDirectory(toSavePath);
}
if (File.Exists(toSavePath + filename))
{
File.Delete(toSavePath + filename);
}
client.DownloadFileAsync(new Uri(url), toSavePath + filename);

The login page is pretty simple, it only assings a click event to the login button to check if the user and password are the same in web.config. If true, got to redirect page, else, error.

So, what's the best method for this? Is there any way to configure IIS7 to skip the authentication on that special user agent or some other custom header? Or I'm going the wrong way?
