I have a button that has click event in my C#. This works great. However afetr pressing F5 to refresh the page I noticed the button event is fired. This occurs every time I click F5. I've added if(page.IsPostBack) and the method still runs.
Is there any way to stop method from firing when the F5 Refresh button is clicked?

I am assuming this is avoiding Pageload event of Page1 when the same gridrow button, who opens up Page1, is clicked the second time. Please note that after second click I can see the page1 with all it's controls but when I try to debug, I see that it does not raise the page load event the second time. It's as thought the page had been cached or the same frame is gettign loaded.
Problem is I want to raise the Page load event the second time also beacuse my dataload for Page1 happens only on page load. PS: Please note only the second click onwards page load doesn't happen. the first time pagelaod works. If I click a new row's button the first time it works.. later it stops doing a pageload

I have a cancel button on a number of steps which when clicked allows the user to exit the wizard. However, I have a few steps that use the RequiredValidator control, which when the cancel button is clicked these validators are also fired. Also I have these steps inside User Controls as a oppose to being on one page. How do I stop these validator controls from firing when the cancel button is clicked?
View 3 RepliesI have a user control and inside that user control I have a image button on whose click I am opening a modalpopup extender(which is another user control) I am populating all the values in drop down list and getting all the information i need on the form. The user and go and save the information required on that web form and clicking on cancel would exit the form which would bring the user back to the main user control.
The problems faced:
1.Problem 1: Not refreshing On clicking on tree view one of the nodes I am calling the reload function of parent user control as well as the user control present as popupextender. This click would refresh and fill in the values from the database for user to view and edit. Now when the user clicks on the image button another user control opens up where he can edit the entire values of the form and move back and forth in the records I have put update panels for every block and for the buttons. He can save the information. But when he exits and form and reopens it after a while the values of the form are retained the values which are not saved to the database but the ones which were selected so it is retaining them and not refreshing. How can I force the refresh everytime the button is clicked for modalpopup extender user control.
2. Problem 2 enable/disable buttons I am not able to enable and disable the buttons inside the extender the buttons are in the update panel as well as for the different sections of the form.

I have a problem when I try to pass in paramaters for a report in my report viewer. I have set up the ObjectDataSource and set the paramaters for 3 text boxes that are on the page. The only way I have found to set the paramaters for the report is the user must fill in the paramaters and hit the refresh button on the Report Viewer toolbar ,but I would like to have the user click a asp.net button insted. I have a button that adds a product to my shopping basket. it has a postbackurl="../shoppingbasket.aspx?productID=1" when the page is loaded I get the querystring (ProductID) and add it to my database. Well I have been watching the database and I can see that in 1 day the whole of my product range has been added to the shopping basket, not only that but every time it fires the event it creates a NEW basket thus messing up my shopping basket ID's.
So my question is, I want the search engines to index my product pages, BUT I do not want then to add to my basket ( i.e. firing the postbackurl ) I have tried may things like rel="nofollow" adding the URL to my robot.txt. I don't really want to use recaptha as I have do before and have many complaits about it.

I am calculating discount at text changed event when user enters the discount%. To edit when i load the data from table using dataset i do not get the correct data as it is in the database. For ex if quantity is saved as 5000.00 in table and when i try to fetch it.. I am getting it as 500000. Instead of 5000.00. Is it because of text changed event? How do i resolve this?

I have 3 update panels on a page, each of them have UpdateMode="Conditional".
UpdatePanel1 contains listbox1 (AutoPostBack set to true) which is populated on pageinit from the DB.
UpdatePanel2 contains listbox2 (AutoPostBack set to true), this panel has AsyncPostBackTrigger set to the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox1 in UpdatePanel1.
UpdatePanel3 contains textboxes that will hold the details once an item has been selected from listbox1 and listbox2, this panel has an AsyncPostBackTrigger set to the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox2 in UpdatePanel2.
In the codebehind, the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox1 populates listbox2 and the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox2 populates the textboxes in UpdatePanel3.
The problem
When the page loads listbox1 is correctly populated, I select a value from listbox1 and listbox2 is populated, great, no problem so far. When I then select a value from listbox2 the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox1 is firing, I assume that as this populates listbox2 again it is clearing the selected value for listbox2 as the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox2 is not firing.
How do I stop the SelectedIndexChanged event for listbox1 in UpdatePanel1 from firing when I select a value from listbox2 in UpdatePanel2 ?
I am using an application called "SAFE" from ASP. This application using for enter the aircraft and personal injury accident.
Once we enter all the details and click the submit button. The next page will open and show the message details like report number.
Report Number will generate depend on sequence.
If you press F5 or refresh in the same page, get the pop up message "Retry" or "Cancel".
If click the retry button, the same input details is saving and generating the next sequence report number.

The subject says it all really. I have a DetailsView which inserts records into a SQL database. It works fine.
When I refresh the page (F5 for instance), I get a dialogue saying such action will resend the data. If I click OK here, the daa does indeed get sent again resilting in duplicate records in my database.
How can I stop data being resent if the page is refreshed?
I am learning how to use repeater and datagrid. I've been able to update a datagrid successfully. I have two text box, which take an item description and quantity, save them in a database, and display them back in a datagrid whenever the user access the page again. If the user were to enter a value, let say description ='coffee' and quantity= '15', it would save them in the database properly. However, if the user refreshed the page, a second row with the same value ('coffee', '15') is added to the database again. How can I avoid this from happening?
