How To Get The Newly Added Methods From .dll In A Web Application
Aug 25, 2010
I am working on developing tool.In Which i have to find the method names from the .dll which has been added in WebApplication.I used System.Reflection for getting the Method names and Class names. But When i add any new methods in Class Library.I am unable to read the newly added methods from the .dll which was added in WepApplication.
I have a DetailsView using a LinqDataSource. I have it connected to DropDown so the user can select a record to edit. This configuration works. However when I add a record after I enter the data and press insert link the DetailsView reverts to another record. How can I make the DetailsView stay on the newly added record?
I have a FileSystem based asp.net 2.0 app that uses Sql Server 2005 Express database.
I have only one dataset for this app with only 4 tables. After i have completed it to a part, a co-worker have added some Classes to it, which are not in same namespace of myBLL classes.
Then i tried added a new table to the dataset. It like all other tables in that dataset uses SQL Statements to access and manage data.
The problem started after i added that new table. I cannot access it from code. I can access all previous TableAdapters but not this new one.
In my asp.net page i have one dropdown and its vales are loading from db.
new values for the dropdown we can add using a popup also for the popup i am using this code
[Code]....
once the data is added then i am refreshing the parent page using javascript and reloading the dropdown using the below code . and values are from db.
[Code]....
here in AllUSersByRole i am getting the newly added value from the db after that i am binding the value to dropdown and the new added value is not showing all the other values are present.
I have a grid which uses an objectdatasource. Data is correctly retrieved using the select method. When I add a new record a new row appears in the grid and I can enter my data. I do have access to the row on saving as I can access this new row from the Grid's insert method - using the GridRowEventArg like so (this is using an Obout grid control but the principle can be seen):
Recently i am working in VS2008 installed in windows xp SP2. In the toolbox i added a new tab and added some third party controls in the toolbox, by using "Choose Item" dialog.. I also added Ajax ToolKit to the tool box. It worked fine and i could drag n drop controls.
But then if i restart VS2008, all the tabs i created and controls in it goes off and disappears ncluding Ajax Toolkit. Each time i restart it, I have to have add those controls newly?
Is this a Bug?? or Is there any solution for this?
I am opening a new window on clicking the button using folowing code
[Code]....
In a newly open window their is a form. on clicking the Save button i am cloging the clild window and refereshing the parent page using below mention code
Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "close", "<script language=javascript>window.opener.location.reload(true);self.close();</script>"); Upto here everything is fine. but the newly added data in the child window is not reflecting in the parent page.
I am working on a web form using VS 2010. The controls I've added previously to this form will show in the drop down list in code behind and are available to add events too. However any new controls I've added for last week or so are not visible in the list. I cannot access their events. I have scoured the forums and tried everything I can think of, nothing works.
I am working on Crystal Reports 8.5 and SQL Server 2000 as backend. I have a stored procedure which has been added to the Crystal Report. So that fields are visible in the Fields object section from where i can drag and drop the fields on the report and display it. But now as they want more fields i have written two select statements for displaying required fields. But these newly added fields are not visible in the Fields object section in the Crystal Reports. I have done verify database, removed and again attached the SP but the problem is not solved.
I'm having hard time to figure out whats going on with my IIS.My application was running in IIS very well untill I used Visual studio Copy website to update the files in the wwwroot. All of a sudden I got this error. My application works fine from the file system.I tried deleting my application from IIS and uninstalled from control panel and ran the newly built msi/exe but I never got my application back what so ever. This is web.config for reference.I've also tried <trust level="Full"> element but this didn't help.I remember the whole problem started when I was trying to debug the functionality to upload and download files in ASP.Net.
I am having problems with 2 popupcontrol extenders. They are used in conjuction with a webservice to display the detail information from a database. Each extender gets information a from 2 different tables. The extenders both work fine except when they have run across a row that has the same primary key number. Here is what the code is (I removed most of the info) to hopefully make it faster to view:
I am new to ASP.NET development and moreover I am only extending an existing application which i did not create.
I have a working ASP.NET application which uses "Forms authentication" throughout all its pages. I have added a new webservice in a subfolder "webservicesDummy.asmx". This webservice works fine but because it should be called by an external application which can't authenticate through a form, i need to enable "Integrated Windows Authentication (Basic Authentication or Digest Authentication)" ONLY for the subfolder "webservices".
I tried to configure it in IIS but it did not work. So that i can set a different authentication method i have to create the folder "webservices" as an "Application". But if i do so then my function stops working with the error "Could not create type 'Dummy'."
Is it possible to have one web application and to authentication methods ? If yes how is it configured in IIS ?
Or what would be the better way if i need ONLY one page (webservice) to use a different authentication then the rest of my application.
PS: I use Windows 2008 Server and the app runs on .NET Framwork 2.0
Error 1 'System.Net.WebClient' does not contain a definition for 'DownloadData' and no extension method 'DownloadData' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Net.WebClient' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) C:UsersMichaelDocumentsVisual Studio 2008Projectssearch2search2MainPage.xaml.cs'm doing this in a c# file for a XAML/Silverlight project, but can't imagine why that would make a difference. I can not find any reference to this issue on the web, and I had something similar to this working last month, but in a regular ASP.NET page, not in a Silverlight app.
I have some pre-defined reports to be created in my project for which i am using sql reporting services. Reports are created and can be accessed using the URL http://localhost/reports. am asked to autogenerate the reports(some 5-6 reports) and store the reports on the d-drive folder so that the users can directly access the same instead of using the above URL. For that i created the Console application and added web reference http://localhost/reportserver/reportservice.asmx?wsdl to it.
I've been tasked with creating a dorm signup/management application for the University at which I work. The application will have a front-end and a back-end. The front-end will be utilized by students.
Front-End:
A student will login and see a selection of dorm buildings they are eligible to reside in (based on gender, class level, etc.).Student will click on dorm they are interested in residing in. A new set of options will appear - a list of available rooms they are eligible for within that dorm.Student will clock on the room they are interested in residing in. They will see how many spaces are open and who is currently residing in that room. They can then choose to add themselves to the room.Obviously, students will also be able to remove themselves from rooms and navigate backwards and forwards through the various levels - e.g. if they get into a dorm or room and see it isn't what they want they will be able to go back to the entire dorm orthe entire campus.
Back-End:
Administration will be able to assign students to specific rooms and/or dorms. They will be able to set time windows in which certain students, class levels, etc. can select their dorm room. This is the essential functionality of the applicaiton. Pretty simple. I'd like any recommendations on the best way to write this application and anything I might be missing. I've been doing some preliminary work trying different ideas.
I've been using LINQ to tie into the data sources - which seems to be working fairly well. The one area I'm having some difficulties with with dynamic control rendering and event handling. Since the application doesn't know which dorms or rooms will be available until it knows who the student is, the controls need to be generated dynamically.
i am using master page and on each page i have Scriptmanager i added a script manager to my master pageso my application run when i click on another page inherited from my master page i am getting Only one instance of a ScriptManager can be added to the page. how can i solve this problem ?
public static class PageExtensions { public static int GetUserId(this Page targetPage) { var user = Membership.GetUser(targetPage.User.Identity.Name); return (int)user.ProviderUserKey; } }
Now in a page I need to use this method in a static WebMethod, so I have added another 'extension method' to PageExtensions:
public static int GetUserId() { return (int)Membership.GetUser(HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name).ProviderUserKey; }
and I call it as follows in my WebMethod: PageExtensions.GetUserId()
I am beginner in web applications development. I started one little project and host it on source forge "https://homoco.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/homoco". And I started implementing authentication in this application to learn how it works. From my experience people never use out of the box things so I want to implement this stuff alone (like in real world projects). So some questions:
1) Is there any reason to use membership out of the box? To use database table schema, stored procedures etc. that tool generate for developer. I think that this lower control over code and I decided to implement it my self. I don't know if I am right.
2) Is my approach in this demo project good or bad (if someone have time I like to do just a little code review)? I created database based on business rules. Not using database schema that membership provider require. Extend "MembershipProvider" class to satisfy my needs. Implement queries to database myself.
3) Now, this question is a little wired but I have to ask it. If we make custom Membership Provider and do sql queries alone, implement all MembershipProvider class methods ourselves, and in application use Membership.blabla() why is this approach different from not extending MembershipProvider class and putting all this methods in some unique class and call its methods then? I hope that someone understand what I ask here.
I am sorry for three questions, but I really trying to find the best way to implement this feature in my demo project like it is a real world application.
