How to embed silverlight xap into aspx page. I have created students database. I want to keep search option to find student name. It should be done in silverlight. I want to embed that silverlight in aspx page.
i have made a user control carrying a grid which is showing different uploaded images , description etc. I am putting this in another aspx page and want to fetch the values of the silverlight grid. I have made a class file for that but unable to get the grid collection.
We have a silverlight/asp.net application which communicates with WCF to fetch data. Now we are facing a problem where in the silverlight component is taking some time to initialize after the asp.net page life cycle is completed. We have tried tracing all the events and found that there is a time lapse between the aspx page unload event and silverlight initialize event. This we have tried with even a simple application (hello world) but still have found the same result. There is nearly 3-4 seconds delay i.e the silverlight component initialization starts 3-4 seconds after the page unload event ends.
I am new to silverlight and I am wondering if it is possible to access silverlight object data from the aspx page that host it. Or have silverlight write to a hidden field on the page on client side.
What I am trying to do is to use silverlight to upload file via WCF (client to WCF Service directly instead of posting data back to the web server then forwarded to WCF service). When uploading a large file, user can still do some data entry etc. And once the upload is done have it write some data return by the WCF service to the aspx's hidden field and postback to the server on submit.
I have an aspx masterpage that I would like to use in Sketchflow in ExpressionBlend as a Silverlight project. I am totally out of my comfort zone here and am not even sure how to ask this question. This masterpage has a Header and a Footer and the middle section will contain the Content - which will actually be Silverlight. Is there some easy method to bring the design (aspx) into Sketchflow to use?
I'm developing a web site, and i'm using infragistics for web, but I want to use in some pages silverlight controls (Infragistics too). Is there a way to access a silverlight control's properties and methods from an aspx page?
I've a page which consolidates different sections by different .aspx pages. Those pages will be loaded into corresponding div(s) dynamically by using jQuery.load(). They all are rendered properly, however, when clicking on any asp:button in any section page, the entire main page will be replaced by the section page even the asp:button is just popping up a message box.
At the moment, I have an aspx page with a tabcontainer (ajax toolkit). Inside each tab, I have a little form or other content. At page load, each tab is loaded. Technically I can load the tabs at tabclick (with use of update panels) but this result in unnecessary data traffic.
Is there are a way or example how to use jquery tabs that loads aspx content (html)?
This way we can still use vs.net design tool with aspx pages and load data in a much smarter way.
I have an asp.net project, and I load a base aspx page to display to the user. Then I ajax in the results of an ascx component and inject it via innerHTML in javascript. I have noticed that the ascx component loads slowly on the first page load, but instantly thereafter. This is really cool, but I do not understand how this can be cached, as the contents are generated by making several db calls. Does the server send some kind of hash to compare the contents to, to see if it changed on the server or not? Is this a browser thing or an asp.net thing?
need to open an aspx page (called editItem.aspx in code below) loaded dynamically inside a jQuery UI dialog from a parent aspx page. the child page has a button server control and should go back to parent page after postback. with the following code I get the error"The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted"
I have an application which is used by others on different server without problems. The app was programmed by a programmer who is not available now. It was developed on .net 2.0. The windows 2003 is a new server, asp.net is enabled. from iis, I can configure it to use asp.net 2.0....,
but, when I load the site, it always show the 404. even after I change the default.aspx to a blank page, it still shows 404. however, if I put a default.htm in the folder, and it can be loaded without problems.
what can cause this? how to fix it? if I installed a vs2005 express on the server, will it fix the problem?
it seems the asp.net 2.0 dll is not recognized on server. never had this problem before.
i had one .aspx page, which containts in pageload it excutes few stored procesdures for dumping data from Sql Server to mysql Db. So every 30 mints User manulaly running this page.
So i want to automate this page Every 30 mints it automatically should Excutes that page.with out User intaraction.24/7 process.
how to do this. no one want to touch the application.it should be automate..
The first page, default.htm, is a frameset page that uses the other two pages.
The second page, casemenu.aspx, is a form that contains an object we call "PopupManager": It has an element <xxx:PopupManager runat="server"/>. This object is dependent on the standard ScriptManager, which requires a form.
The third page, header.aspx, contains three links. Each link calls a JScript function that in turn calls a function on the Popup Manager. It makes the call to the popup manager with an expression like 'top.frames.casemenu._PopupManager'.
Now, the problem I have is that I have to change default.htm to be a normal page containing an iframe, which will refer to a new page, container.aspx, which has the original frameset. When I do that, I can no longer access the PopupManager the same way ('top.frames.casemenu._PopupManager' no longer works.)
I would like some way to refer to the PopupManager relative to header.aspx, something like "self.parent.frames.casemenu._PopupManager", but that doesn't work.
I was discussing load-balancing with a colleague at lunch. I admit that I know very little about this topic. We were discussing the various ways of maintaing session in a ASP.NET application -- none of which suited the high performance load balancing that he was looking for. What about Silverlight? says I. As far as I know it is stateless, you've got the app running in the browser and you've got services on the server that feed/process data. Does Silverlight totally negate the need for Session state management? Is it more friendly to load-balancing? Is it something in between?
I'm using this Ajax script [URL] to load content from an aspx page on another server than the page calling the content. So far I've learned that this is a no go. The problem seems to be that when using an absolute link to content the script fails as apposed to using a relative link.
I've searched the web for about 10 hours now, and I still haven't found what I'm looking for.
