I have four controls in a page with update panel.Initially mouse focus is set to first control.when I partially post back the page to server the focus automatically moves to first control from the last focused control from the control I have tabbed down to.Is there any way to maintain the last focus?
View 1 RepliesI have a page that I am adding user controls to the bottom of the controls each postback. The User Control has a textbox in it and the focus needs to be on this newly created control textbox each time. It all works almost perfectly however when there are too many controls to fit on the page, because I set the focus to the textbox the bottom of the page is set to the textbox that has focus not the very bottom of the page. I have a submit button below this which ends up below the page limit. How can I set focus to a textbox but still scroll to the every bottom of the page to show the submit button.

View 2 RepliesI am using usercontrol to populate a web part. The user control consists of ajax tab and in it there is another user control which is a gridview. I add the tabs - My top level usercontrol to the web part. Now when user makes a selection in the gridview (this does a postback) I would like to maintain the scroll position. I tried adding - this.Page.MaintainScrollPositon = true to the page load event of my tabs (priamary) user control. But it does not seem to work. Is there any other way to maintain position in a web part.

1) On my page are scrollable panels, what the user would like is for the position of the scrollbars to maintain their scrollable position during postbacks, because the scrollbars return to the top of panel during each post back. View 4 RepliesI have used update panel and in that update panel I have kept ASP Table control in which I am creating rows dynamically which in turn contains 1 dropdown lists and 3 text boxes. My problem is that after partial postback text boxes and dropdown list are found but text property of text boxes is showing empty and dropdown list's selected value is set to the first record in that box. I have also stored entire table in session and retrieve it in(!isPostBack) condition at page_load event.

Basic concept of AJAX is to cause Partial post back of the Page. If we use AJAX, Page Load occurs, than what is the difference between normal Pages' Page_Load event (without ajax) and Page load event of a Page with ajax.

watch here:
- Create a gridview with AllowPaging and AllowSorting = true
- On page load, I bind it to datasource (in my case a webservice)
- On gridview's rowcreated event, I dynamically add image buttons on the header of the grid for sorting (up/down arrows). On header I have column name and the image. I removed the Column name default sorting link. So user can now only click the image button for sorting.

This works perfectly fine without AJAX. The paging, sorting works fine. Also when I apply AJAX the paging works fine. But the sorting is doing a full post back instead of partial postback.
I have my gridview within UpdatePanel and Triggeres is set on gridview sill it doesn't work.

I want to maintain the scroll position of a page. So I try to get the page cordinates and set the position on the page load (actually I've a postback in my page) using JS as follows. What I've done is on a client click on an image get the page cordinates and keep in a hidden field.

GetScollerPosition function invoke in an image click event. But it's not work as I expected, the SetScrollPostion always find the value of hidden fields as zero.
I have put the following method in my master page. It works when I call it on a full post back, but when I call it from a updatePanel's asyncPostBack no alert is shown.

I have some collapse able anhcor link tags on a page that reveal some text when clicked on i.e.: [+] Topic This is all done in javascript client side. I would like to maintain the users scroll position on the page when these links are clicked on. They dont cause a postback as iv mentioned above its client side javascript.

I got a problem with an Ajax form in MVC2 (VS 2010).Well I got an Index.aspx that has a Ajax.BeginForm, with a textbox and a input button (Button 1). The HttpPost of this simple form, will be handled by an action of my controller. This action will render a PartialView.The PartialView has a table that I fill with a ViewModel. Also it has another Ajax.BeginForm and another input button (Button 2). This new Ajax.BeginForm is handled by an action that has to do something with the data posted.
Here's the thing: I click the Button 1, fill the table and everything is going well, but after that when I click everywhere in the page, the Button 2 change it's position to the bottom of the page and get the focus ... I don't know why ...
I have four textbox and a button in my page. After filling the textbox. When the user click save button. A loading image should be displayed. User should not feel that the page is postback to the server,Some thing like in facebook loading image.
View 5 RepliesBeing new to ASP.NET I have run into trouble building my own Whack-a-mole program. I think my problem comes from using Buttons, which by themselves send post backs to the server, making the software unusable. The looks are in place, making new buttons show up in the grid, in different places by random. However, when a button is pushed - the score doesn't change (which I feel is strange).
Not so strange is that the Button doesn't work since it sends post back to the server - reloading the UpdatePanel. I think I should use a different controller like the CheckBox and style it hard using CSS (which isn't a problem). Is this the correct way to go, or should I make use of JavaScript AJAX instead?
Note to self: This technique shouldn't be used in a public application since it put too much unwanted pressure on the web server.

I have wierd situation on my side. I have a page that uses a user control driven by ajax. When I enter a code in txtbox. Corresponding questions for that code are brought into the middle section of page basically in user control. I have requirement of setting the focus on the controls so that I can tabout the field with feel of questions being a part of same page.
I have to manually set the focus for the first question and after going thru all the questions I get control lost. Basically it dont come back to the actual page. I have tried to manually put the focus on the button but I couldnt.
how can I get back to the same position of a page on postback. It always seems to get to the top of the page
