Keeping Scroll Bar Position And Div Tag Positions During Post Back
Feb 26, 2010
I have a .Net Web page that refreshes every few minutes, and all of this works fine. However, a user has made a request for some enhancements. There are two requests, which I am little unsure how to do
1) On my page are scrollable panels, what the user would like is for the position of the scrollbars to maintain their scrollable position during postbacks, because the scrollbars return to the top of panel during each post back. How do I keep the scrollable position of the panels - I have only 3 panels to content with
2) Inside each panel, are dynamically added controls, and these controls have an image button with some javascript which hides or shows a div tag. What the user wants is to maintain the show or hide of a div tag on each of these dynamically added controls during post back. How do I do this?
I am using usercontrol to populate a web part. The user control consists of ajax tab and in it there is another user control which is a gridview. I add the tabs - My top level usercontrol to the web part. Now when user makes a selection in the gridview (this does a postback) I would like to maintain the scroll position. I tried adding - this.Page.MaintainScrollPositon = true to the page load event of my tabs (priamary) user control. But it does not seem to work. Is there any other way to maintain position in a web part.
i find out that whenever there is a post back, the page will post back and go up to the to the top position of the screen. Is it posible for it to maintain the location as it is as before postback??
I have four controls in a page with update panel.Initially mouse focus is set to first control.when I partially post back the page to server the focus automatically moves to first control from the last focused control from the control I have tabbed down to.Is there any way to maintain the last focus?
I have a page that I am adding user controls to the bottom of the controls each postback. The User Control has a textbox in it and the focus needs to be on this newly created control textbox each time. It all works almost perfectly however when there are too many controls to fit on the page, because I set the focus to the textbox the bottom of the page is set to the textbox that has focus not the very bottom of the page. I have a submit button below this which ends up below the page limit. How can I set focus to a textbox but still scroll to the every bottom of the page to show the submit button.
i am using an div tag for that i am keeping an scroll bar. which is an slider control. now here i need to replace the vertical line image with my own image . and the scroll image to. so it possiable to achive this in the slider control what we are using
I have four textbox and a button in my page. After filling the textbox. When the user click save button. A loading image should be displayed. User should not feel that the page is postback to the server,Some thing like in facebook loading image.
Being new to ASP.NET I have run into trouble building my own Whack-a-mole program. I think my problem comes from using Buttons, which by themselves send post backs to the server, making the software unusable. The looks are in place, making new buttons show up in the grid, in different places by random. However, when a button is pushed - the score doesn't change (which I feel is strange).
Not so strange is that the Button doesn't work since it sends post back to the server - reloading the UpdatePanel. I think I should use a different controller like the CheckBox and style it hard using CSS (which isn't a problem). Is this the correct way to go, or should I make use of JavaScript AJAX instead?
Note to self: This technique shouldn't be used in a public application since it put too much unwanted pressure on the web server.
i have a update panel and when a link button is fired i need to set the scroll position to the top. i need this to happen in the code behind, i have tried the following but it wont work.
I have some problems with maintaining scroll position after postback. First time I experienced the problem was when I (believe) added Combobox control from AJAX control Toolkit and/or UpdatePanel from AJAX Extensions. The problem is when I do the postback on the page the page is loaded at the top and not where I did the postback. Actually, this wouldn't be a problem if it isn't happening on a very large form. I have already tried using MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback="true", but it wasn't helpful at all. I can provide the code if needed, but I don't think it would be of any use because I have comboboxes inside update panels which are rebinded on a button click.
I have a gridview which is placed inside div tag to make the grid view to look like having scrollbars
<div id="divgrd" style="overflow: scroll"; width: 350px; height: 150px> My grid is placed here. </div>
Now it displays nice view of the grid with scroll bars. I am changing the color of the row selected from the grid. Only problem is if the grid has around 50 rows and I select the 50th row then the scroll bar moves to the top of the grid. I want to stop it and maintain the scroll position. I cannot change the height of the div tag as the grid may be very large if the rows inside is increased.
I have a panel, inside a panel there are some checkbox and radiobuttonlist. This panel is place inside an UpdatePanel ajax.
When I click on a checkbox, it will raise autopostback with ajax supported, then the scrollbar of the panel always move back to the first position. It does not keep the current scrolling position.
how can I get back to the same position of a page on postback. It always seems to get to the top of the page I've tried using ' maintainScrollPositionOnPostBack = "true" ' but its not working.
i used the dropdown list in user control.when i select the dropdownlist that scroll bar went to top.how can i maintain the scroll bar position in that situation?
I have found many articles claiming to show you how to set the scroll position of a ListBox, but what they really end up showing you is how to set the SelectedIndex of a ListBox.
Here is what I need: a databound ListBox that's usually going to have around 25 items in it. When the page loads, ALL of the items in the ListBox are selected, and the ListBox is scrolled all the way to the bottom.
I've got the "All items Selected" requirement already, but I can't figure out how to get the "Scroll to the bottom" done.
The Register action gets called in the Account controller, showing the RegisterViewModel in the Register.aspx view. The form in Register.aspx is submitted/posted with answers to all of the form questions, except for the security question answers. If the user is created successfully, then I'd like to go to the GoToSecurityQuestions view using the code - return RedirectToAction("GoToSecurityQuestions", "Account"); I need to be able to keep track of the user name or ID of the newly created user so that I can persist the security questions to the database records related to the user. What's the best way to keep track of the user info between the [HttpPost] Register( ) and the [HttpGet] GoToSecurityQuestions( ) ?
[HttpGet] public ViewResult Register() { return View(new RegisterViewModel()); }
I searched google and found asynchronise post back trigger is used if we want update panel to post back on some event of control if it is out side the update panel. Than what is purpose of post back trigger ?
I have a page that uses AJAX updatepanels. On this page, we have some radio buttons with Autopostback set to true. The problem is that after the postback, the control was losing focus so that when the user would hit tab, control would be restored to the first control on the page and not the drop-down which fired the event. As a fix, I wrote some set focus code in the radio button's oncheckchanged event. This seems to have fixed the problem with the focus. The problem I have is that the browser loses its scroll position every time I click on one of these radiobuttons. Is there a way to maintain scroll position? Maybe there is another way to resolve my original problem of setting focus that will prevent this from happening.
I want to maintain the scroll position of a page. So I try to get the page cordinates and set the position on the page load (actually I've a postback in my page) using JS as follows. What I've done is on a client click on an image get the page cordinates and keep in a hidden field.
[Code]....
GetScollerPosition function invoke in an image click event. But it's not work as I expected, the SetScrollPostion always find the value of hidden fields as zero.
