I have an Ajax form with a single input and a button. On submit, the form should only post the entered value to an action method. My form is correctly posting to the User controller's Log method but when done, the page redirects to /User/Log.
How can I avoid this?

When I put a part of my form in a partial view, all form parts get unobstructive syntax except the form elements in the partial view. The only way I found how to "apply" the unobstructive syntax, is by starting another form inside the partial view.

I am a problem with Postback event.
I have a web page (aspx) which takes longer time to load the page. If this page is loading and if user requests same page by clicking menu link again, it is considered as not postback and page starts loading again (as soon as it finished first page load).
I want to prevent this from happening. When page is loading and user requests same page again, it should not process those requests and should be neglected.
This aspx page is requested from menu (which is designed on seperate master page).
The problem with my web application is when ever i load the home page - The master page as well as content page loads ---This seems fine but when i navigate thorugh the website which have the same Master page but diffrent content page .... the master page loads again. What i want to do is ..I want to keep the master page intact and only the content page loads. How can I accomplish it..

after clicking on submit button, I'll get partial view open in new webpage (not in GetPatientByRC div). Does somebody know what is wrong?
I have update panel on the page to avoid postback and placed a dropdownlist control within that update panel. DrodownList is filled with Category names and also it's autopostback set to True.
Now whenever dropdownlist index change's on select, untill page loads complete data it should show mesage as "Loading.... in center and middle of the page and background should become bit transparent". And when page load completely with data then that background and message should get disappear.

This is using MVC 3/.Net 4, I have downloaded an MVC 2/.Net3.5 sample project from the web that is doing exactly the same which works fine. What am I doing wrong?
I have <script src="bla"></script> that can be loaded in several domains.
I want to know if there is a way to control the domains it will be loaded on.
To clarify: My script is server-side rendered, so basically I can return empty string if the requested domain is invalid.
This is to prevent from other sites embedding my script.
I'm trying to prevent data from loading on the page when its needed.
Currently, I check the IsPostBack bool to prevent loading data in my user controls which allows the data to be loaded when the page is initially requested.
However, if my page fails validation and the page is sent back to the user with error messages, my user controls no longer have data in them because the initial request was a postback.
One solution is to have a flag in every user control (IsFailedPostBack) to force them to reload their data. Is there a better way?

We have installed a web site written by others which is compiled with Visual Studio 2008 and hosted in Windows server 2008 R2.
The IIS connection timeout is set to 120 seconds. But for some pages, the first page loading fails with HTTP 404 error but sequential refresh can bring the page up. The same problem happens for some images which fail to load in web pages. We are not very sure it is network related issue or hosting issue.
I have 2 checkboxes (yes/no) that when selected cause the entire page to refresh during postback mode. How can I elimiate this?

I have a new issue regarding the progressbar I have a page from which i am passing a parameter to CrystalReportviewer on the next page and a converting a Crystal report in to PDF .My problem is i want to show a progress bar while the page is loading (on which crystal Report Viewer is Placed) and writing a PDF file I have already place a scriptmanager Updatepanel and updateprogresbar on that page but the still the page is showing blank while loading the page

In my controller I always just return PartialView();
I just want to display a success message in the view but OnSuccess gets called even if there is a modelstate error. If I try to throw a HttpException then I lose my ValidationSummary and other error messages.
To work around, I'm setting a ViewData["Success"] and displaying the message div in the .ascx if ViewData["Success"] != null.

View 2 RepliesI have an .aspx page with multiple .ascx (User Controls on it). One of the User controls is very slow in loading (calls a very slow webservice for the data.). Now, my question is how to render all the controls on the page (so the User can view those) and have a rotating icon for this control (slow one) (till it loads). I know, I need to bring AJAX into picture, but any clarification on that would help as I will be new to AJAX programming.
View 4 RepliesI have a page that has a cascading drop down. It works perfectly when I start with an empty page and populate data to save a new row in a db table. However, when I try to load an existing row to the page, the parent is populated, but the child and cdd are not populated. During the load, I set the ccd.selectedvalue to a valid value, but by the time the page is rendered, there is no selection. I am sure it is something simple, but just don't see it.
