ImageButton Postbacks Even When Not Inside UpdatePanel
Nov 19, 2010
I am having a custom ASPX page with following structure. Its having 2 update panel and I have a ImageButton outside them. The two UpdatPanel are triggered by this ImageButton. The Problem is whenever user clicks the Imagebutton, the image in the ImageButton is getting reloaded...it disappears and the reappears. I am not able to figure out why the postback is happening when the imagebutton is place outside UpdatePanel. Is it because I am using this Imagebutton for triggering AsyncPostBack in UpdatePanel?
I have marquee control inside a Master page.I used timer control to refresh marquee for every 5 mins. And it is placed in update panel for implementing partial postback.
Now the problem is that, when ever timer_tick event raised it's postbacking the content pages as well.I need a solution to partial refresh of only master page.
Are there any restrictions on using templatefields in gridview if the gridview is inside an updatepanel? If I click on the imagebutton, I get a exception which I can't seem to figure out.
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> [code]...
have a created a dynamic solarsystem map. Basically I have a updatepanel which inside I programattically create imagebuttons of the 'planets'. These imagebuttons are given a Command event and when clicked the idea is to set the clicked planet in question as the parent and redisplay the map.Inside the command event I pass in the ID of the planet and this sets a session varible. The panel load event is then designed to use this session varible to set the new parent and display the child 'moons'
I have a ImageButton inside a gridview. The gridview is inside update panel. i want to redirect to another page with the Clicking of the ImageButton. But it is not working inside update panel. what should i do?
I'm trying to change the visibility of a imagebutton to false, if the imagebutton.ImageUrl="". The problem is that the imagebutton is inside "ListView2", and "ListView2" is inside "ListView1". Who can I do this in vb code... or even a javascript.
1. I have couple of checkboxes and some text fields outside the updatepanel.
2. Based on the checkbox selection, I will be hiding/showing the fields to user using javscript.
3. I have a upload control in the same page which is placed under the updatepanel. When I upload the file, I will be reading the content of the file and I'm trying to load it into the controls which are outside the updatepanel. As I know the controls won't updated until unless it has been added under the updatepanel.
4. I moved all the controls outside the udpatepanel (checkboxes and textboxes) and placed it inside the updatepanel so that when the file is uploaded I can read the file and assign to the controls.
After this, I was able to assign the values to the control. However, the problem is, the state of the page (javascript hide and show) has not been retained during the postback. For example, if i have 2 checkboxes and 2 textboxes, if i click firstone, it should show the first checkbox. If I click the second checkbox, it will show the second textbox. By default, when the fresh load happens, first textbox will be shown. When I click the second checkbox (its showing the second textbox) and do the postback by uploading the file, the state gets lost and when the page load completes, it's showing the first textbox instead of showing the second textbox.
I've dynamically made a table that a TD and the TD g onclick="document.location=page1.aspx" (all in the aspx.cs) page, and an ImageButton in it, with imagebutton1.Attributes.Add("z-index", "1000"); and imagebutton1.Click += new ImageClickEventHandler(imagebutton1_Click);, when i click outside of the imagebutton it redirects me to page1.aspx, and when I click inside the imagebutton it does the imagebutton1_Click() function that I made
I created a form in a popup div, that contain an UpdatePanel with ImageButtons in it.Initially, I used LinkButtons to test but I wanted ImageButtons. The thing is, it works well with LinkButtons and not with ImageButtons (absolutely nothing happens).
in my Site i have 3 updatepanels. In the 1 is the gridview. with templatefield in this is the imagebutton. ImageButton has commandname "Select" want to register the ImageButton as AsyncTrigger for the other Updatepanels 2 and 3
I have two update panels and one javascript control.
When the javascript button is clicked, it forces a partial postback on UpdatePanel2. UpdatePanel2 is populated with dynamically created buttons that have javascript effects (jquery) but when click can also induce a postback. My problem is that, when clicking on these dynamic buttons, the whole page does not do a partial post back but rather UpdatePanel2 itself does a partial postback and everything is gone.
However, what I want to do is be able to tie each of the dynamic buttons in UpdatePanel2 (After being dynamically created) and make them an asychnonous triggers to UpdatePanel1. So that when clicking on these dynamic buttons, ONLY UpdatePanel1 is doing a partial postback refresh. UpdatePanel2 stays put and remains the same.
I have GridView on my asp.net page, one column in that grid is ImageButton (TemplateField with ID="imbReserve"). On click on that button I want to show PopUp, but when I put TargetControlId="imbReserve" I get error message " A control with ID 'imbReserve' could not be found". How to achieve this, on click on button inside Grid show PopUp ?
I've got the ImageButton wrapped inside a form tag with runat="server" but STILL getting this error at runtime. The form tag is at the very beginning (before my table) and end tag is at the end (after the table).
I have an UpdatePanel with a GridView. This GridView has a template column that is a DropDownList. The problem is that the SelectedIndexChanged event does not fire for the DropDownList. Here is the code:
I'm trying to add and edit an image which is located in a detailsview which is inside an UpdatePanel. After I read relevant topics in the forum I installed the Ajax Control Toolkit. Below is my source code. When I used it only for insert new image it worked great. The problem caused when I tried to implement it on the Edit mode, i.e. when I tried to edit the image and upload a different image. Unfortunately it didn't work as I hoped. Nothing happend and the image hasn't been changed. I also tried to change the IDs (AsyncFileUpload ID) to be the same in both places but it didn't work either.
I have an asp page that has an iFrame. In the onload event of the iFrame, the javascript code copies the content of the iframe to the div. The iFrame has src="test.aspx" and hence displays the content of the test.aspx inside the div.Test.aspx page contains and imageButton, which does not show up in the iFrame.I am getting the following issues:1. the image does not show up (cannot see test.gif)2. When i click on the imagebutton link, it tries to search for test.aspx in the directory where the asp page resides inside of the actuallocation/directory of the aspx page.
I've got a textbox being used to enter a password inside a wizard control. I'm trying to get a password strength meter working with it.
Unfortunately, the password box isn't visible until step 4 and this means that I can't register the event handler onload() and putting some JS next to the PW box to register the event handler doesn't seem to fire. I'm guessing this is due to the contents of the wizard being loaded through an AJAX postback.
I have a masterpage and inside that masterage is a user control that has a toolbar with a save button. I then have an aspx page that inherits form t he master page. In that page I have and updatepanel. Is it possible to set the post back trigger to the Save button inside the usercontrol?
I have copy and paste this Alert Class:[URL] It works except with a button inside an update panel but it shows no error. The asp code inside is executed but nothing shows up on client side.
see the following code. How do I access the imageButton (or any other control I may happen to have) within the listView? In this case, I'd like to change the image of the imagebutton based on certain conditions in the code behind file while the listview is being populated.
