I don't know it happen just to me or Others have the same situation too . All the time when i bind a DataControl to an ObjectDataSource in "Configure Data Source" wizard of ObjectDataSource, when i set parameter source as "Control" in "ControlId" DropdownList there are TWO Item of every control in the WebForm , while it make sense be one.
I have a gridview with all columns read only except one. I want to configure the update method for the object data source to update only one column. The code i have written works when i make all columns editable but fails when i try to make only one column editable.
I couldn't decide where would be the most apprioate. I looking for an online source control site, if such a thing exists? I've checked out codeplex and thats really for open source projects ? which this isn't. does anyone have a recommendations?
I'm trying to link 2 objectdatasource together using the Control Parameter Source. However, I'm stuck at the screenshot below. The Next button is disabled.
I downloaded the latest version of Visual Web Developer Express. I created an Access (.accdb) database with a table and one record inside it. I dropped a grid view onto my page and selected 'Configure Data Source'. It only wants (.mdb). I have searched the web and discovered bits and peices of information but nothing really in depth that shows me how to fully utilize an (.accdb) Access Database with Visual Web Developer Express Edition. Can someone give me an explanation of how to set up my .aspx page for C#?
How do you use the http POST method with a Grid View on another page. I am trying to use the POST method to send the ID from the selected row of a Grid View, I am using a link button set to fire the select command and it has the Post Back URL set, from one page and then retrieve the ID value on another page using an Object Data Source. Also, under the Defining Parameters, I am setting the ID parameter to Form Parameter Source and have entered the Grid Views name in the Form Field.
on Login I get and set the compnay which has the ID so what in essence I want to do is on databind set the Where clause of data source to what the server side paramter for company ID is.

In above SqlDataSource control, I had to pass the SelectParameter (whose value is coming from a ComboBox i.e., whatever comboBox value I selcect from ComboBox, its SelectedValue I had to pass it to the SqlDataSource SelectParameter. I am first time using "SqlDataSource". How to pass the SelectedValue of ComboBox into SlecteParameter of SqlDataSource control ?

Basically I want to take the following:And make it match the styling of the rest of the application.I am creating a custom error page in my C# based project and I want it to be able to show the same information that is displayed in the ASP.NET default error page. From fiddling with reflector I can see that this is generated through HttpException.GetHtmlErrorMessage() but when I try to use this in my exception it returns null.
I have a reportviewer (Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms) control on my page. All my reports use one data source. I want to be able to let my reports run on a different database when started from my UAT enviroment. So the location of the reports is the same, but the data comes from a different db. I cannot seem to find how this is done, is it even possible?
EDIT: They are server reports on SQL Server . I know you can set the dataset programmaticaly but I just want the reports to point to a different db and leave the rest of the report intact.
How can I use a web service (WCF) as the data source for a reportviewer . I create web application in that i want use .rdlc ( dont want .rdl) so i write wcf service . How to link wcf service into reportviewer to display data in rdlc.
I know this sounds odd. I have a SQL DB that I am pulling data from. I have to some math functions to get a percentage. So I am pulling all the data in my code and building a data table with the results. I am then trying to pass this into a chart control that I have, but it fails because the data source is not correct for the chart control. I know that the chart control will accept a SQLDataSource control as a data source because a built a example with it before using it in my project. So my question is how can I use the Data Table as a data source for a SQLDataSource Control? Or is there a way I can pull the data from my DB andapply the math needed in a stored procedure or something similar that I could create the procedure on my SQL server then add a SQLDataSource control to my page and use the stored procedure as the source for the SQLDataSource Control.
I have a ASp:Menu control in my Master Page . I want to change DataSource of my Asp:Menu on Login depending upon the role of the user (as if admin/user/staff etc) so when i tried to change the data source of asp:menu by
