How can i enable the windows service subscribe/listen to events raised by the asp.net app on the remote machine? What methods can i use?n example of events that can be raised on the asp.net app is a user uploading a file. Once the upload has completed the windows service should be notified so it can do some work. It seems that there needs to be a layer in between asp.net and windows service, possibly another windows service or WCF app? Or plain old polling through a shared database containing the state?

When i access this service when running my asp.net website through code everything works fine how ever when i deploy the application on the local IIS , in the deployed mode i am getting an securityaccessdeined exception. AJAX :: Install Extensions On Windows7 32bit Machine?
Feb 11, 2011I've gone through the process of installing the environment of a large project which I'm involved with, on a new machine with Win7 32bit and Visual Studio 2008.I HAVE to install ASP.NET Ajax Extensions but being so old at it is, it requires .Net Framework 2.0 or 3.0 instaled. The installers of 2.0 or 3.0 will not install and I just get a massage that I need to install them (2.0 or 3.0) through the Windows Components dialog ("Turn Windows features on and of" dialog). This is not possible because the only framework available there is 3.5.1 which is no good for the Ajax Extensions.Removing the 3.5.1 in order to install 2.0 or 3.0 doesn't work either and result in the same massage.Since Microsoft haven't yet come up with some new extension package (as far as know), I'm stuck in a dead end. What do I do?

Dec 7, 2010Currently I'm in the process of deploying my ASP.net MVC 2 project on a Windows Server 2008 R2 web server. This web server already has the .net 4 Framework installed, but doesn't have any MVC dll's in the GAC.
So deployment on IIS succeeds, but when I start up the web application in the browser, it results in this message:
Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
Of course I can Google myself too and it mainly:
Copying the MVC dll's (System.Web.Mvc.dll, .Routing.dll, etc) to the output directory;
Downloading an RTM version of ASP.net MVC 2 on top of .net 3.5 Framework. Neither of them I'd like to do. I just want to install ASP.net MVC 2 to the GAC of my web server. So my question is:
Which installation does actually contain ASP.net MVC 2 for installation on top of .net 4?
