I am using ModalPopupExtender
to pop up messages, on the page when form loads.
The problem now is before the form completes it's load. If I do click on any buttons on the page, the ModatPoupExtender pops out. and then when I close it, the page freezes.
I have seen this discussed in number of topics, but so far nothing to address my specific issue. I want to display the page the client, and then trigger an updatepanel refresh that will populate with data that takes 3-4 seconds to load (the rest of the page loads very fast). At the same time I want to display "...Loading..." text using UpdateProgress control.
Everything is working below in the sample code. However, UpdateProgress will not display unless the button is actually clicked by the user. In real production scenario I would hide the button. To invoke the immediate UpdatePanel refresh I trigger the click via Javascript. I have also tried "__DoPostBack" without success.

I have a modal popup which contains a listview with multiple rows containing multiple controls so the form takes around 6-7 seconds to load, which is fine. What I want to do is display a little animated gif whilst its loading. What I don't understand is from the Page_PreInIt to the Page_SaveStateComplete (which is the first lifecycle method to last i think) it's only a matter of milli seconds.
a) why is it taking so long to load?
b) hows best to show the gif whilst the page loads (if possible)
I have an ASP.NET document, with an Image element within it. I created a mouseover function on this image element and it's working fine. The question is: If the mouse is ALREADY over the element when the document loads itself, the mouseover function doesn't trigger (I need to mouseout and then mouseover again in order to trigger it). Is there any way to check in the $(document).ready function if the mouse is already on top of this element? and if yes- trigger the mouseover function.
View 2 RepliesI have following function in my asp.net MVC view:
$(function() {
$('#datepicker').datepicker({
changeMonth: true,
dateFormat: "dd M yy",
changeYear: true,
showButtonPanel: true,
autoSize: true,
altField: "#txtDate",
onSelect: function(dateText, inst) {
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "/LiveGame/Partial3?gameDate=" + dateText,
dataType: "html",
success: function(result) {
var domElement = $(result);
$("#dvGames").html(domElement);
}
});
}
});
$('#dvGames').load(
'<%= Url.Action("Partial3", "LiveGame") %>',
{ gameDate: $("#txtDate").val() }

I have two input elements|:
<input type="text" id="txtDate" name="txtDate" readonly="readonly" class="cornerdate" />
<input id="datepicker" class="cornerimage" type="image" src="../../Content/images/calendar.gif" alt="date" />
But txtDate is not filled with current date when page loads even i specified altfied. How can I fix it?
We have an application clusteredbrain.com designed on Silverlight 2.0 connected with OLAP data cubes

I developed a basic web page in MVC 2 for learning the framework, and I am stuck in this situation:
I have 3 classes: Client - Product - New. And for all need to display a modal popup to create/edit action. For display the modal i used JQuery and jqModal plug-in.
I created the controllers for all objects, the views for Index action, and Delete action. For the Create/Edit Action I created a partial view named ModalBox. Inside this partial view, I have an Ajax.BeginForm, and it calls another partial, that represent the form of the objects.
This works very fine, ... for the project object! in FireFox 3.6, for others object's the form tag is missing...
Post form data to controller without page refresh in asp.net mvc application using Jquery ajax.
View 1 RepliesI have a set of radio buttons (individual buttons) in asp.net. These buttons have a group name (if that matters). What I need to happen is, anytime a user selects a radio button, I need some jQuery to be called. I am not doing a page refresh when the user selects the radio button, so I need this to be done on the fly. I have tried a "CheckedChanged" event in asp.net and can not get it to fire. I have also tried:
if ($('input:radio').attr('checked') === true) {
var checked = $('input:radio:checked').val();
}
however it only works the first time the page is loaded, not when a user selects something other than the default. What Can I do to fix this?
You must have noticed one link in yahoo.com, msn.com or other popular websites named "Page Options". When you click this link you get a popup displaying different small several color icons. After clicking one of these icons your page theme changes without entire page refresh. Now you are able to see the same page with different look and feel.
How does it happen and what it takes to do it? Is this possible in ASP.NET? If yes, how to do it?
After changing image data how can I force to reload image from httphandler ? I tried something like this:
//Change Codes for image data...from sql...code blocks hidden here...
//Than attemption to reload new image into imagebutton.
//Both ImageButton and Label inside an updatepanel
ImageUrl="";
ImageUrl="~/Handlers/ProjectPreview.ashx?ID="+Num;
Label1.Text="NEW TEXT COMES HERE";
New Image Data for ImageButton rendering in IE but in firefox not.
Label renders very well but ImageButton still shows old picture. so is there a way to focre reload imageButton's new image data ? or Im missing a ToolkitScriptManager setting or a method can do this ?

View 4 RepliesI have found an odd bug in my application. I have a dropdown status which is bound to my gridview. On selecting a status from the dropdown the selectedindex then fires and binds the results to the gridview.Now the strange behaviour in firefox and not IE:If I have a dropdown open and an ajax update fires on my gridview the option is selected from the dropdown (just by hovering my mouse over it rather than selecting it) and the results bound to the gridview. This does not happen in ie as you should have to physically select an item from the dropdown rather than firefox selecting it for you because you happened to hover over an option when the update event fires.
View 4 RepliesI am trying to fire a Javascript call when an ASP.net user control to an aspx page.
The Web site allows users to add user controls to a page (similar to adding a widget etc to a page like google widgets). But when the control is added the javascript does not fire, only if the page is refreshed will it fire the javascript. IF the next time the website is accessd and the controlis still there the javascript fires too.Do I need to use the RegisterClientScript method to register the call (setAutoTimer()) on the control load or OnPreRender event.In the User control I have this at the start of the ascx file:

I have a table on my page. I need to scroll down a little to get to that table. In that table i have som data that i edit and save to database. When the save is done i need to refresh the page( Response.Redirect(Request.RawUrl )) so it loads the new data to that table. When the refresh is done the page is on top again so that i need to scroll down again to see the table. This makes it very unusable for the user.
How can i refresh the page without it going back to top again? I tryed wrapping an updatepanel around the table but it didnt
this should be pretty simple but I can't find a solution. I spent a bunch of time, without luck, searching for an answer that makes sense (to me).
Here is the problem. I have an asp form in a frame (I know frames are considered evil, but this part is non-negotiable) This form has an asp:listbox that is tied to a SqlDataSource. A button on this form opens a second form that allows the user to add records to the SQL table that is bound to the SqlDataSource object (the source of the listbox in the first form) The thing is, that when the user closes the second form and returns to the first, the list box needs to be refreshed and I have no idea how to do that.
I've got a form that inserts data into a database using ASP.NET 2.0 . The problem is that when I hit the submit button on FireFox, the page submits and I'm redirected to the correct page. The problem is that the data isn't actually saved.When I try this on IE, it works fine. When I try this on FireFox using another browser it works fine. When I mirrored the application and data locally and use FireFox, it works fine.
It just doesn't work on production, and it seems like only my FireFox is having this problem. I've cleared out the cache in FireFox already, but it still doesn't work.Any ideas what is going on? I can't tell if this is client side or server side, and there is no way to debug right now.

1. Is there anyway to make an ifrom refresh without having to refresh the whole page?
2. My iframe just wont display when I run it. It just displays a grey screen with the file name in the middle.
