Is it related?
View 2 RepliesActually I'm not a professional in ASP.NET. I'm going a project that needs to support two languages (Russian and English).I've already completed the main parts and the site is now 95% functional.However, now I need to enable language selection on the site.
I'm going to do it with DropDownList, where a user chooses one language from DropDownList, the content must change to particular language.
All texts are displayed using server controls like Labels and Literals. Links are in Hyperlink or LinkButton.
I did some research to handle with my condition, but no-one suits on my condition, because I've almost completed the application. How to generate Global Recourse files for controls on the page?
In my application i used .resx files. Now i need to deploy my application in a single dll. Once i deploy and add this dll as a refernce in other client applications then the culture specific dlls are added under Bin directory in client application. I don't want this to happen. Should i embed or link the satellite assembly in my applicaion to avoid this? if so how to do this?

I have a strange problem. My webapp run on Virtual Server with Windows Server 2003 English version.In a web page user create a record in db (Ms-access). One of the fields is a date.When I write record use this code to store date field:
nuovaGaranzia.DataOrdine = Date.Parse(txtDataOrdine.Text, New CultureInfo("it-IT", False))
When user write date in the textbox use italian format (dd/mm/yyyy) but when i get the field this is stored in format mm/dd/yyyy
I have no knowledge about sessions but I realize that using sessions in multi-language sites are very useful. How can I implement language selection by using sessions and sql database?

I'm currently writing a web service using WCF in VB.NET.Previous web services I wrote used ASMX but I wanted to learn WCF and so far it's going well. I actually prefer the way WCF does things.One thing I miss however is the way that ASMX used to generate example SOAP requests and responses. It was like getting documentation for free.Is there anyway to auto generate SOAP documentation for WCF?
View 1 RepliesI am using the tab control and basically I have 4 buttons. Each button will load a seperate ascx control into a brand new tab. After about 4 tabs, since it has to regenerate all 4 tabs, the speed in order to add tabs just becomes too long for my tastes. Is there any way to remedy this and make it go faster?
EDIT2:Using Internet Explorer 7.0 and 8.0
EDIT: Some Code, I store the i in viewstate and loop through this every time for each panel per regeneration

When i change a value in a textbox, for example, the Desconto value, and leave that textbox, i want that the row where i am to be updated, using the new value present in the textbox. It's like a TextChanged or onBlur, but inside the update panel it's not working. what is the best way to do it? I am using VB.NET. When adding the OnTextChanged="Desconto_TextChanged" i receive this compilation error: Compilation Error Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. View 2 RepliesHave not run the ASP.NET Development Server for a while. Today I copied a production website to my workstation and ran it with VS 2008. The following error message popped up. What is the problem with the ASP.NET development Server on my workstation? The website on the Production server still ran okay.Unable to make the session state request to the session state server. Please ensure that the ASP.NET State service is started and that the client and server ports are the same. If the server is on a remote machine, please ensure that it accepts remote requests by checking the value of KEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesaspnet_stateParametersAllowRemoteConnection.
If the server is on the local machine, and if the before mentioned registry value does not exist or is set to 0, then the state server connection string must use either 'localhost' or '127.0.0.1' as the server name.

Is there a way to set a persistent session that would not expire when closing/re-opening a browser. The cookie that is used to store the session_id expires when the browser is closed.
I know we can make the Auth persistent (stay logged in when we close and re-open a browser). In this case, the cookie does NOT expire when the browser is closed

View 1 Repliesi want your opinion about the
Response.AddHeader("Refresh", Convert.ToString((Session.Timeout * 60) - 20))that i have seen in some sites that is used for refresh the page every time a little bit before the session expires
I new to .aspx and now the thing is since i am doing a web enabled project, I have this login from an user. I drag dropped the login template and then used the
Session["Authentication"] = username.Tostring();
to store the current logged user's info and so. Now i even used a hyperlink "Logout" at the top right corner and then made it transfer to Login page.
Now if on running the web , i can easily login , but when i logout through hyper link "logout" it will take me to the Login page again, but if i press the back button of the browser it again transfers the control to the data page and i can again perform the data operation's.
I used this
Session["Authenticate"] = null
at the page load of the login page so that only at the login button click the user can enter again by
Session["Authenticate"] = username.Tostring();
Then i used a check at each page load of the data pages
if(Session[Authentiacte"] == null)
Server.Tranfer("LoginPage.aspx");
have an ObjectDataSource with the following configuration:

And the 'Select' parameters will aid in making a 'unique' combination per user selection to populate the GridView it is bound to:The problem that is occurring is that GridView search results are indeed cached, but the cache is a little too public and shared between all users currently running the application. So if user1 creates a search that populates the GridView with 100 results based on some unique dates and CategoryID, and then user2 in a separate browser does another search with different dates and a different category
