MVC :: Change A Link In A MasterPage Based On Current View?
Jan 14, 2011
Is there a way to dynamically build an action link in a Master Page depeding on the View iteself.
For example, if I am at View1, I want the link in the Master PAge to point to an action A; whereas if I am on View 2, I want the link in the Master Page to point to an action B.
I have a view that displays all the records of my Roles table. I want to be able to click a Role record and have a list of users that pertain to that role displayed to the right of the Roles list. I'm sure I need to use a view model for this so I can get two sets of models in one view, but I'm not sure how to set up the view model.
Controller code:
[Code]....
Repository (userRep) code:
[Code]....
I can just as easily get the full user list with return db.Users;
So what method needs added to my repository and how should my view model look?
I have Jobschedule( different work centers) displaying in grid view on my webform When particular workcenter passes the current date then it should highlight with Red color ,(following sechedule i bolded the dated which are passed current date since i did not find how to make color here)
I want to execute some logic if the Logged in User can view a page "~/MyPage.aspx". IF the logged in user should be elligible to view the page is determined by the role based security I configured in the web.config file. There are many methods to find out if the user is in role XXX or not. But I did not find any method to find out if the user can view a page or not ahead of transferring the user to that page. Maybe I will hide a link to a specific page to the logged in user if the user is not elligible to view that page if I know the technique i am asking here to know.
i have a partial view which iterates over a colection so at the end of the day i have several partial views on my page in a long list.within each partial view, i have an actionlink..on clicking this link, i want to refresh that particular partial view and change the link to an image.how can i do this with jquery and MVC 2 ?i think i have seen something like this on the facebook and twitter interface.
My masterpage for my website has the Login control which sits right on my main nav bar. The problem I have is that I'm currently not detecting the current page hence not setting the ReturnUrl parameter. So when the user clicks login and goes through the login process, he/she is sent back to the home page.
How can I set the ReturnUrl while still keeping the Login control in the master page?
I have a master page that contains a menu, the menu contains links to pages outside the website, how do get those links to open up in the main contentplaceholder of the master page? I tried setting the target to the ID of the contentplaceholder but that didnt work.
Now, on the pages that use that GlobalMaster page I have a button on each one which allows you to jump from one page to another,
basically I do a Response.Redirect.
What I am trying to do is to find a way to change the Title of the application according to the button that the user clicked. I was trying to get the current handler but that does not work well for me:
I want to popup new view when i click on hyper link on current view page... on that popup view i will ask user to add some values and save to database...when that popup child view get close my parent view will get refresh...
I am developing my first website, the functionality is done, now i am trying to "make it look better", but i have no experience with html.
In my project i have a masterpage.master which includes a header.ascx and all of my pages have the same master page set. In my header i have the links to all of my pages so no matter where i am, i can chose to go on which page i want. I attach the source i have in my header.ascx.
Now, what i would like is when i click the link and the wanted page is loaded, the link status to be changed to bold. Until now, when i click is made bold, but i think because on click is loaded the requested page, which has the same masterpage, so the same header, the link status is changed back to original.
How do you handle this? Not put the header in master page, is no use of header...my logic ...is this something hard to accomplish? Where did i went wrong?
I've got two linkbuttons on a masterpage. It works fine on all pages apart from page I have a form where if I click on one of the link buttons, then the wrong javascript event is fired. It is firing the button on the form if I click on the button on the masterpage.
I have an app that uses masterpages. On the masterPages I have a TreeView. I would like to only refresh the ContentPlaceHolder & not the Entire masterPage when a link is clicked on the treeView.
I have placed the contentplaceholder in an Updatepanel. I would like to if possible avoid including the menu in the update panel.
I have looked all over for elegant solutions to this not so age-old question. How can I lock down form elements within an ASP.Net MVC View, without adding if...then logic all over the place? Ideally the BaseController, either from OnAuthorization, or OnResultExecultion, would check the rendering form elements and hide/not render them based on role and scope. Another approach I have considered is writing some sort of custom attributes, so as to stay consistent with how how we lock down ActionResults with [Authorize]. Is this even possible without passing a list of hidden objects to the view and putting if's all over? Other background info: We will have a database that will tell us at execution time (based on user role/scope) what elements will be hidden. We are using MVC3 with Razor Viewengine. We're utilizing a BaseController where any of the Controller methods can be overridden.
On my page load I want to find out the subdomain of the currently visited site, I got my [URL] into a string, now how can I use RegEx to just retreive "sub" out of the whole string? note that www may and may not be there every time.
I have added a jquery datepicker on my MVC view. This view has a partial view. I need to filter my partial view based on the datepicker's selected date. I need to show buttons on partial view based on the date.
I have added partial view like this:
div id="dvGames" class="cornerdate1"> % Html.RenderPartial("Partial3"); %> /div>
I've been rewriting my page into a master page for a bit now, problem I have is that I want the current page I'm in to be highlighted in the link.If you go to my website now gabriel-g.net and click on any menu item, it will let you know what current page you're on by staying underlined/highlighted.How can I accomplish this dynamic change in a master page -without having to recreate the menu in every page- with content holders?
