Aug 4, 2010I am using a view based of a formView.. say LogonViewForm (having userName and password) what i want to do is , suppose i enter my username and password and my account is not verified after logon. Its gives me a message as your account is not verified and redirects me to another view, what i want is it must be already having my username in its username textbox and must be disbaled. rite now i can pass the username value to verify view.. but can`t get how to disable the textbox.

Mar 11, 2011I would in normal asp.net use a theme to turn off autocomplete on all text boxes on an entire site. However i cannot do this on MVC because nothing in the theme .skin files seems to work.
I have this in my .skin file:
<asp:TextBox runat="server" autocomplete="off" />
however this does not render at all, of course because this is not how MVC works. Anyway is there any way i can get this sort of thing to work.The site i am trying to do it on is too big to warrant changing every textbox or creating a new HTML helper to solve the issue?

<asp:TextBox ID="someID" runat="server" TextMode="MultiLine" />
In this field I have a RequiredFieldValidator validation only. Unfortunately, after any PostBack if the content of any of the fields includes HTML tags or any other potentially dangerous code - the entire ViewState is cleaned.Setting ValidateRequest to false does not help. I'm using IIS 7.5 and .NET 4.0.

Feb 24, 2010I'm using ajax 3 tab panels on my web page, whenever my web page is loaded i need to disable rest 2 tabs (to grey out with no click events).
when i tried to do this from server side, the tabs are completely hidden instead of disabling. My actual requirement is to use tab container as asp wizard control.
i'll be having form fields in my first tab with submit button, when the submit button is clicked, then the disabled second tab will be enabled and in the the second tab when submit button is clicked the third tabpanel needs to be enabled just as a wizard control.
i can use wizard control but, i'vent found any styled asp.net wizard control. How can i disable rest of the 2 tabs when the page is loaded.

Mar 27, 2011I have pages with lot of controls (datagrid, treeview, listview, checkboxes itd...). Each control have event usually SelectedIndexChanged and that is ok. On page load, I read default values from database and set controls selected or not. Problem is that in this case fires every damn event of each control and causes problem with loading page. I want to completely turn of runing of all events while triggered from page.load event? Is there nice solution for this? I dont want to mess with RemoveHandler and AddHandler in page.load procedure (although I tried to remove handler, change selected index and then add handler, all in same page.load procedure but it doesnt work).
Is there possibility to turn all events for load procedure, or to use another procedures (init, preinit, loadcomplete, prerender...) to store default values readed from database?
Or can I somehow figure out from witch procedure is called event, then I can implement something like this to skip executing event:
if sender.fromprocedure = me.load than exit sub

Jul 23, 2010I am not sure what I am doing wrong in how I set up validation on my models and viewmodels. For some reason on several of my views that contain a validation summary, it appears empty on initial load of the page. On some other pages it appears correctly when the form's data is posted and it does not appear on initial load, this is the way that I would expect it to work.
On the views where this is occuring, my viewmodels are somewhat more complex in that they contain another complex type that I am passing around that has it's own set of DataAnnotation Validation properties, but I have called the validation summary like this; Html.ValidationSummary(true) so that those properties are not validated.

I'd like to be able to set the focus to this textbox when the page is loaded. Is there a really easy way to do this? I have to admit that so far I haven't found it. I know that I can do this using something like this JQuery/Javascript code: $('#UserName').focus();
However, I don't like the fact that the model field name 'UserName' has to be expressed as a string constant again here - it smells of a maintenance problem. I'd really like to be able to reference the model field directly if possible. Somethiing like this: $('#' + '<%:Html.ModelFieldNameFor(m => m.UserName)%>').focus();
