In this field I have a RequiredFieldValidator validation only. Unfortunately, after any PostBack if the content of any of the fields includes HTML tags or any other potentially dangerous code - the entire ViewState is cleaned.Setting ValidateRequest to false does not help. I'm using IIS 7.5 and .NET 4.0.
I have a div where I put a lot of stuff on runtime to construct a chart. The user should be able to copy the chart to another div (innerHTML) and then make som adjustments to the original div, which causes a postback. Of cours the cloned div comes back empty.
So I'm thinking of putting the entire innerHTML in a session variable at page_unload, but then I run into the validation problem. I've tried using a hiddenfield as an in-between control, but it's the same, and it seems you can't use the CausesValidation on that control. I've also tried a regular asp:textbox, but the CausesValidation doesn't have any effect.
How to do this? Or any better way all together on the copy-chart issue?
I having a two radio button. When the second radio button is enabled, a text box which accept the email id will appear. I am validating the Email using Regular expression validator.
When the second radio button is clicked, and I enter the invalid email id so that it shows me and error. But when I click the first radio button, it is showing the save validation. I need this to not show the validation when the first radio button is clicked and invalid email id is there in the text box.
I am using a view based of a formView.. say LogonViewForm (having userName and password) what i want to do is , suppose i enter my username and password and my account is not verified after logon. Its gives me a message as your account is not verified and redirects me to another view, what i want is it must be already having my username in its username textbox and must be disbaled. rite now i can pass the username value to verify view.. but can`t get how to disable the textbox.
I would in normal asp.net use a theme to turn off autocomplete on all text boxes on an entire site. However i cannot do this on MVC because nothing in the theme .skin files seems to work.
I have this in my .skin file:
<asp:TextBox runat="server" autocomplete="off" />
however this does not render at all, of course because this is not how MVC works. Anyway is there any way i can get this sort of thing to work. The site i am trying to do it on is too big to warrant changing every textbox or creating a new HTML helper to solve the issue?
I know the unobtrusive client validation is required using Html.XXXFor to generate the input html. But in my project, I want to use Html.TextBox(), and also want to use unobtrusive client validation. I think you'd better expose a extension method like Html.TextBox(..., ModelMetadata,... ) allow me pass the ModelMetadata manually.
How can I disable the code behind validation when javascript validation is present? Then if there is no javascript enabled then the code behind validation will do its thing. What I notice is that it's reading the code behind valdiation not the javascript.
i want to replace "span" with "bold" to "bOpen" and "bClose" and to replace "span" with "italic" to "iOpen" and "iClose" in both c# and javascript.
i did use regular expression to do that: res = Regex.Replace(res, ".*?", replaceHtmlBold); but it cant match the nested tag and none-nested tag at the same time.
I have set the EnableViewState property to false, but when I click on the button the value in the textbox persists after the postback. Why does the value persist?
is it possible to disable sorting on specific columns? 5 out of 7 columns have to be sortable, two not sortable. The columns are created dynamically in code behind, so I think doing this with mark up is out of the question. When I say disabled, I'm hoping that the underline wont show on the column header when you mouse over it.
I am using two text boxes for email id and password, and a submit button inoreder to login. In the same page itself I have provided a link button for forgot password. For the two text boxes I have provided required field validators. So when I click on the Link "Forgot Password" I cannot move to other page since the requiredfield validators prevent thatr.
It is easy enough to add a required field validator to this page like this.
<asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="valMyTextBox" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtMyTextBox" ErrorMessage="My Text Box is required."></asp:RequiredFieldValidator>
But I need to modify the HTML slightly if this text box fails validation. I need to add a CSS class to the DIV. So if the user leaves this field blank I need the HTML to look like this:
Is this possible? I can't figure out if there is a way to write code behind that only fires if this particular validator control fails validation or something. I know I can write code that runs when the entire page is not valid. But I just want this code to run when this validator returns invalid. Hope this makes sense.
How to Disable user click on Gridview header and first two columns? I am using a modalpopuextender for which girdview is used as targetcontrolid. I need to pop up panel2 when user clicks on anywhere on the gridview except the gridview header and first two columns.
- I'm using a RequiredFieldValidator to check whether the text box is empty. I only wanted this validation to run when I press one specific button.
- I dont want the validation to be done on every button control within a page. For example, i have 2 buttons, one is showing a list of data and another will be checking for an empty text boxes. So, when I click the show list button, I dont want the validation to be run, what I want is the validation to be run on the check empty text boxes button.
I am using ASP MVC 2 RC2 and playing with client side validation. my problem is that i have a form which has a checkbox and text box.
the textbox should be validated only if the checkbox is checked. I was nto able to find anyway to disable the client side validation when the checkbox is not checked.
