I have a category and a subcategory column in a Jqgrid. I have enabled inline editing, both category and subcategory are dropdownlists columns (edittype:'select'). I need to filter the subcategory list based on the selected category. I wonder how can I acheive this functionlity? I tried the below event but its not working for me
afterEditCell: function(rowid, celname, value, iRow, iCol) { //to do here }
the above event doesn't get fired. my all column are editable
i am working in MVC and using jquery.jeditable plugin.The editing is working fine in grid.when i update the content in grid & click on enter the edit post from my controller cllass is called & returns a string as updated text. i want to show a message somewhere else on my page after the update is done.

Some how i cant able to refernce the master, detail. so it will show all the records in the detail section instead of showing relevant customer id details from the orders table. pls see the picture belowMainreport - > call the subreport parameter. but i miss with one more step to finish the report "Filter Expression", i guess. how to pass the parameter value subreport filter.
I've been tinkering with the Nerddinner tutorial (upgraded to the new MVC 2.0 version actually) and I am trying to figure out how to dynamically hide/show fields in the EditorForModel template.I have added a new field to the model and a dropdown list for it in the editor, and I would like to be able to toggle the visibility on a couple of textboxes if a user selects a particular value from the dropdown list.
I did manage to access/manipulate the values of the textboxes using javascript (by altering the "onblur" example in the tutorial app), but couldn't figure out how to access the properties of them.
I would like to show only some of the fields in my dataset in the report but would want to export all the fields in the dataset when I click on export to Excel.
I have a GridView and a linqdatasource. The GridView is editable and when the user clicks to edit a row I want to concatenate two of the fields in the linqdatasource and place it in a single textbox.
In this case I'm having, the ItemTemplate for various fields in my DetailsView (2 in my case) does not show up, but when you click the edit button, the EditItemTemplate shows up. I played with it, moving it around. No matter where I put it, one of the fields did not show up.
To get even stranger (and don't ask me how I came up with this), if I put a dummy boundfield BEFORE it, the ItemTemplate shows up. But this is totally absurd.
Model is coming up as Invalid Scenario is I have a custom ViewModel and certain fields don't show up on the screen (like Id & some computed fields etc..) so when the data gets posted back the Model.IsValid() comes to false Q Do I have to pre init these fields when I do create
ActionResult CreateOrder(int customerID) { var order=new OrderViewModel(); //shall I init the fields which are not being keyed in by the user? }
What would be the best way to handle the following scenario? I have an application where depending on what type of proceeding is selected, only certain input fields should be visible.
There are 33 proceeding types and 14 input fields in total
First case, make one big form with all of the fields and have a dropdown with proceeding type which depending on what is selected, makes certain fields visible?
In securing actions/controllers, do I have to create a custom filter or use MVC built-in filter?
To use the built-in attribute Authorize() on an action/controller or create a separate class that inherits the ActionFilterAttribute which has a method (OnActionExecuting) to override and do the authentication there?
In my organization we use nested groups. For a particular usage, we have a group (let's assume that the group name "kuku"), and the names of all the nested groups under it contains "kuku" as well.
We may assume that no other group in the LDAP has "kuku" in the name.
I need to create a filter which will return all the users which belong to one of the "kuku"s group.
Obviously, using this filter will bring only the head kukus
(&(&(objectclass=user)(objectclass=person))(memberOf=CN=kuku,cn=...rest of the group DN...))
How can I use wild card to fetch all users which belong to any kuku?
For example: (&(&(objectclass=user)(objectclass=person))(memberOf=CN=.*kuku.*))
I have decorated my base controller with a couple of action filters. They work fine.
One of those filters sets up the request - does things like set the culture based on the domain, etc.
I also have a handful of actions that require authorization using the Authorize attribute.
My problem is that when an user attempts to request a page they are not authorized to access, the authorization filter kicks in and redirects them to a page telling them that they cannot vie the page.
The issue is that the action filters never run so the culture and other request data is never set. This effectively causes language to be wrong in the view and other data to be missing.
I know that authorization filters run first but my question is this: How can I design this such that I can ensure that certain methods are always run before the view is returned, regardless of the authorization.
I have a sql data souce that returns several columns of data, and they are displayed in a DetailsView on a pretty simple vb.net page. I'm stuggling with one field though for the details view.
It's a template field, and if ClientType=1 (this value is determined else where on the page), then the label in the template field should have Text='<%# Bind("ClientName") %>', but if the ClientType = 0, then the label in the template field should have Text='<%# Bind("ClientTemporaryName") %>'
How do I tell the details view to set the text for ClientName to one or the other?
