I am using "Classified Ad" starter kit of Asp.net 2.0. In the Post Ad feature that using the ad "CategoryPath" control that recursively update link based on user select ad category. After user satisfied with the ad Category selection, the control generate a complete button link of the entire path.
If I am going to convert CategoryPath control from Asp.net to MVC / Ajax, how about I am going to do this?
On my website i have got a product for sale page, which has a ryt side bar with filter options while the left side bar shows the filteration results. On my ryt sidebar i have used accordion with the repeater control which display the searching criteria from database.For instance I have 2 searching criteria model and price , under model accordion there are three models, what I want to acheive is when a user clicks on that specific model , the page should run a query with respect to that click and show bind the results on the repeater of the left side bar, I know the query to get the results but I dunno how to get the value of that hyper link button, coz these buttons will be dynamic it can be 3,4 or 10. how will i get the clicked hyperlink valueso that I can run the query depending on the model selected.

I am using a CustomSiteMapProvider to draw the SiteMap from a MS SQL database table. If I select all the rows in the SiteMap, everything works correctly. I now want to select a subsite from the SiteMap and display it and this subsite's subsites only. I am using recursive SQL to do this. The code below works correctly except the root record, record number 286, is not included in the result:

I need to change a standard HTML Input button to a Link button but am running into problems because the existing
code calls a javascript function. The function basically does the same as the browser back button. When I add the code and
set the property runat="server" I get a "CS1026: ) expected".

I have links at the top of the page that are the letters A-Z. What I want to do is click on one of the letters, then show only the div IDs that start with that letter. I can't figure out how to do this since I'm dynamically creating the ID names. I had it set up nicely with Javascript and CSS, but the function call was inside the repeater. The layout is changed now, and I don't understand how to make the div ID available outside the repeater.

Here is my requirement -
1. I need to load a user control on link click event of a link button during postback of aspx page.
2. On button click event of a save button on that aspx page, I need to read the selected values from that user control on further postback.
If I write the loadcontrol code in link_click event, the control is not recognized at all in the button_click event. When I shift it to page_init and execute only during not postback, the user control loads with default values.
In my gridview i am returning values from database in which 'filelocation' is containing location of pages over my server and i want to use coustom linkbutton in templete field to raise a event and set session variable and then redirect to that page .
My question is how to get value fron 'filelocation' coloum in gried view when a linkbutton in clicked and onclick is fired and also set session value at taht point.
I am using Nested Repeater repeater1 and repeater2 in my project . one button is there inside repeater2 but i cant use that button using e.commandname
so how to use that button and how to write code on it.

I have set up an asp repeater to go through and display a list of people based on input parameters. Within that repeater I have a repeater that displays specific details about each person. No problem so far.
However, my requirement is that I only display the names, with a plus/minus sign to the left of the name. Clicking on the plus sign will expand that person's information to show the details. Clicking the minus sign will collapse the detail info.

I want to insert a routeID into tblHalteRoute and for every routeID multiple halteID's
TblRoute has the needed fields (routeID(1) & allHaltes[halteID1,halteID2,halteID3])
--> so Every route has multiple Haltes that I can access by parsing the allHaltes field and using the IDS.
What I want to do is update tblHalteRoute like this

I have written a user control that captures some user input and has a Save button to save it to the DB. I use a repeater to render a number of these controls on the page - imagine a list of multiple choice questions with a Save button by each question.
I am loading the user control inside the repeater's ItemDataBound event like this (code simplified):

The problem is that when the Save button is clicked, the page posts back, but lbnUpdate_Click is not called. The Page_Load event of the page itself is called however.
I should mention that the repeater is part of a user control, and that user control is loaded inside another user control (this is a DotNetNuke site which makes heavy use of user controls). The Save button link looks like this:

I am deveoping a web part for deployment on a MOSS 2007 intranet using VB.net. I have a dataset containing ID,name. My template field needs to display a photo (photo filename is the ID number),name and ID number. I created a reapeater control and can successfully display my templated data. I now need to display my data in a grid format.

Can we convert the Repeater items back to a datasource?
At post back, I want to convert the repeater items into a datatable which is a datasource was given to the repeater.
I would like to make the datagrid bound column to redirecting to the details page .
For example , when my mouse over certain row of bound column in datagrid , it will change the colour to blue . Also , I can click anywhere of the row and the will redirect to the detail page .
Notes : I do not want to use hyperlink column and do not want to fix the text for every row. I want to use datafield, CommandName and CommandArguement.
