Nov 12, 2010what changed do I need to make to my code for it to achieve what I'm after.
At the moment I am getting a "cannot cast to type" error message with the below code.
I have also tried calling the ItemDataBound method in with the parent repeater tags and had no errors but when I clicked on the button it would just move back to the top of the page and would not hide or show any data. Also I have made the div style to none but the first record still shows its child but the rest don't.

1. I need to load a user control on link click event of a link button during postback of aspx page.
2. On button click event of a save button on that aspx page, I need to read the selected values from that user control on further postback.
If I write the loadcontrol code in link_click event, the control is not recognized at all in the button_click event. When I shift it to page_init and execute only during not postback, the user control loads with default values.

Nov 12, 2010the output I am getting at the moment, is my parent data displays along with my child data. However when I click on the button to toggle the views i am getting a "cannot cast type error"I have also tried to put the itemdatabound event in my parent repeater tag, that worked but when I click on the buttons it just keeps moving to the top of the page and won't hide or show any of the child data except for the first child of the first parent.

When I click on one of the buttons, I want the text value to update a variable whos value is used to re-query the sql tables and redisplay the page. What I have so far does not update the value when one of the buttons is clicked.

Sep 28, 2010I have Web page that uses LinkButton control inside Template Fields of Gridview.I am trying to work on LinkButton Click event and trying to preserve the Value of LinkButton that user click, and based on that value, i want to refresh tha page data.
I used CommandName and CommandArgument property of Linkbutton, but i can use that property only in GridView_RowCommand method by checking e.CommandName expression. But the problem with that Gridview_RowCommand event fire after all other page_load activity. So the value never used in the page_load event to refresh the data in all other control.I also tried to use OnClick Method, Session variable and Hidden variable. but when i run Response.Redirect method from Gridview_RowCommand, it clear all the Session and Hidden variable values. also tried (Response.Redirect(,false)) method but never got success.

Mar 29, 2011I'm having trouble managing how to call upon databind from clicking on a row over an already populated repeater that will populate data regarding the row clicked TO another repeater on the same page.
I've succeeded doing that with postback, calling a jquery click event of that row, taking the data of the specific row and passing it onto a "Querystring" and after postpack, it will be pushed into a Session which the ObjectDataSource of the secondary repeater will recognize and populate the data tables accordingly.
The problem is, I must do it without a postback or in other words purely on client side.

When i click on any master page button, it load one UserControl inside ContentPlaceHolder. But inside one of this UserControls have a Button, that when i click on, it dont fire the click event.

Oct 7, 2010I am developing a web site to display some data that is inside a database. To do this I've created an ASPX web page that opens a connection to a database and retrieves the desired data. After that it populates an asp:table object dynamically.
The problem is that some of the fields that are retrieved from the database are too large to be displayed on the web page, so I decided to make a popup that would be able to display just the desired field.
To do this I've added a button to the asp:table so that when the user clicks it the popup would appear with the contents of the field. However what is happening is that when the user clicks on the button, the page just gets reloaded and the Click event handler is never called.
Below is the code in which I add the button to a TableCell, and the TableCell to the TableRow collection:

note that the popupHandler is a delegate to the function below. I am using it as a the Click event handler for testing purposes.

Also you should be aware that the table is only populated when the user clicks on a "Query" button inside the main ASPX web page, this means that I only populate the table after the PageLoad event has occurred.
