Is it possible to somehow output some content based upon some conditional check in Razor? If not, I hope this possibility will be added in the future. What I want to do is the following:

I am trying to add an item selected class to an Html.ActionLink, I am very new to MVC so its all a bit confusing.So far i have each of my ActionLinks lookins like this
[Code]....
Can any one tell where i am going wrong because the links now fail to respond, basically it isn't checking the condition == Home and if it is then its failing because it doesn't get to the controller.
I need to make a textbox (and associated label) to appear to allow user to enter additional details if user clicks on a tick box. How do I accomplish this hide/unhide based on tick box selection please?
View 7 RepliesI try to generate this HTML code with Razor:

This is my Code in .cshtml, i have to select the "current" Style and insert <span> </span> tags wraping item.Text, but it doesnt work ....

I am working on a scenario where i need to display hyperlink on jqgrid cells based on some conditions. It means that all the cells of a column will not have hyperlink.
View 2 RepliesWhat is the appropriate way of rendering a child template?And what's the difference? Both seem to work for me.And why does @Html.RenderPartial() no longer work?
View 2 RepliesI am currently writing a small templating system in ASP.NET to allow users to add content. For example, the user can enter the string (variable type is string).
topHeader[x] = "They think it's all over. It is now!";
However, one change that's needed is the ability to add some basic HTML tags within this content, so the following can be done
topHeader[x] = "They think it's all over. <strong>It is now!</strong>" or
topHeader[x] = "They think it's all over. <a title="Football News" href="URL">It is now!</a>";
If you add such things into strings now they are not formatted as HTML, but I want to somehow escape them so that they can be. Naturally I've looked on the Internet for the answer, but as Razor is fairly new there's not much out there to help me out.
Check out the following: <a href="/test?x=@if (Model.IsTest) { @(1) } else { @(4) }"></a> Is there a better way to write this instead of the @(1) and @(4)?
View 1 Replies HtmlHelperExtensions in MVC2 return a HTML string, unencoded.
In MVC3 this string is encoded! How can I return unencoded HTML to a Razor view in MVC3?
I have this C# code in a Razor view:
@(Html.CheckBoxFor<RazorSamplesWeb.Models.SamplesModel>(i => i.IsActive))
I tried translating it to this:
@Code Html.CheckBoxFor(Of RazorSamplesWeb.Models.SamplesModel)(Function(i) i.IsActive)End Code
But it's complaining. Why, and what is the right statement?
I have a custom Html Helper that takes a few parameters and generates some Html. For example:
[Code]....
This would render something like:
[Code]....
I would like to be able to define a Razor Template so the Html Helper renders the Html differenlty:
[Code]....
This would render:
[Code]....
I'm trying to write a simple declarative html helper: [Code]....
The helper works fine if I embed it into the page I want to use it on. But if I move it to a separate .cshtml file and place that file in the ~/Views/Helpers directory, my view can't be compiled anymore because the helper is not found.According to Scott Gu's blog article on Razor it should work.
The only workaround I have found so far is placing the Html helper in App_Code and Referencing it as @[MYHTMLHELPERFILENAME].Echo(...) . This works but is a bit messy since I don't want to repeat the name of my extension method (Echo.Echo("inputstring"), nor do I want to put all of my html helpers into one single file (something like MyHtmlHelpers.cshtml).It certainly isn't what Scott announced either, so I guess I must be doing something wrong.
I have this razor code ...
Code:
<ul>
<li>
@("hello <i>world</i>")
</li>
<li>
hello <i>world</i>
</li>
</ul>
When I run it the italic attribute works on the second item, but not on the first. I'm guessing it doesn't work because it's being passed as a literal string and the html formatting is lost.
How can this be made to work?
The reason I ask is because in my project, the text for the list item is stored in a database and I want the ability to include formatting for the item at the database level.
Code:
@Html.Raw("hello <i>world</i>")
However, I am not getting the result I need, so here is a bit more code....
Code:
@helper addNodes(dcNode As DocumentContent)
@<li id=@dcNode.Id>
@dcNode.nodeTitle <--This results in "White Papers - <i>New</i>"
@Html.Raw(dcNode.nodeTitle) <--The truncates the string at the tag and results in "White Papers -"
@If dcNode.children.Count > 0 Then
@For Each childNode As DocumentContent In dcNode.children.Values
@<ul id=@dcNode.nodeTitle>@addNodes(childNode)</ul>
Next
End If
</li>
End Helper
This is a recursive helper that populates node for a jsTree and works fine, but the inline html is not working. Here is what the result looks like.
The text for each li is shown twice because I am showing it once without and once with HTML.RAW. Notice the "White Paper" item... the second text is truncate at the <i> tag.Why is this and how can I fix it?
I use ObjectDataSource and FormView for Editing of table data. Fields of table are to be edited by a few users.I use common page using ODS and FV (EditItemTemplate with a table) and want to succeed above purpose by allowing relevant fields to respective users.By searching through Google, I use table row's visible property like below
<tr id="Row1" runat="server">
<td>
Project Id.:
[code]...
I don't know if this is possible but I would like to customize some of the HTML helpers autogenerated in the template. For example, I would like to replace the LabelFor with something that will allow me to specify an image with the label and also a ToolTip property so when you hover over the label you get the tool tip.
View 2 RepliesIt's great that Razor HTML encodes by default. However, many times I have HTML in a database and want to display it literally on a page. In WebForms 4, we can use <%= %> and <%: %> to choose between encoding options. Raven's syntax is currently @(new HtmlString(Model.Greeting)).
add a shorter syntax to Razor. Something like @=Model.Greeting or @@Model.Greeting, or something else.
I currently trying to convert a ASP.NET MVC2 application to ASP.NET MVC3 razor. I have a lot custom Html helper methods, which render html output, like the one below, which renders a button with some markup :
StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder("<input type='submit' id='") .Append(buttonId) .Append("' name='" ) .Append(buttonId) .Append("' value='") .Append(buttonValue) .AppendLine("' class='myclass1 myclass2' />");return MvcHtmlString.Create(sb.ToString());
, i created a html helper in mvc3 project with razor view
[Code]....
and i am using this in view but error is occuring.
but it works in aspx view engine and mvc2.
I can not get the _PageStart.cshtml to work for my layout senario. I would prefer to use _PageStart to define a layout for all files in each folder. Each folder represents a different app feature that will contain different layouts.
Until I find a work about I had to copy and past the Layout ="~/folder/_PageStart.cshtml into each page of the folder to get the different layouts to work.
_PageStart isn't being recognized at all as the folders page start. Is there a web config setting missing? The docs aren't fully extensive yet for all Razor related info and I couldn't find anyone discussing this problem via search results.
In order to keep close to code once and separation I need to use the _PageStart.cshtml method rather than code a line in each page in the folder.
On win7 using both webmatrix and vs2010 web engines. Neither recognizes _PageStart.cshtml but hard coding into each file works.
This might be confusing but ill try to explain the best as i can. I have a gridview that get the data from datatable. This is simulation my grid view.
key data
1 data1
2 data2
2. data2
2. data2
3. data3
3. data3
what i want is make some conditional statement, when value "key" is changed i want to add empty row. so its suppose to be looks like this as result.
key data
1 data1
EMPTY ROW
2 data2
2. data2
2. data2
EMPTY ROW
3. data3
3. data3
I'm just starting out with WebMatrix and would like to know how to style a @Html.TextBox("email") and @Html.Password("password") control? I've tried (in my CSS file):
.email{
/* styles here */
}
.password{
/* styles here */
}
But that has no effect at all. How can we style these types of controls?
I manage a large asp.net site which has previously been converted from static html site to asp.net. For several reasons (mainly SEO) we decided not to rename all the files to .aspx back when we originally converted the site. This was very easy to do by simply adding the buildProvider and httpHandler to the web.config.
<buildProviders>
<add extension=".html" type="System.Web.Compilation.PageBuildProvider"/>
</buildProviders>
<httpHandlers>
<add path="*.html" verb="*" type="System.Web.UI.PageHandlerFactory"/>
</httpHandlers>
Now I am upgrading the site to use Asp.net WebPages with Razor cshtml files. I can rename all the files if necessary, and use url rewriting to make the urls stay the same, however it would be much easier if I could just configure the web.config to tell it to parse .html files as if they were .cshtml. I have searched around quite a bit, and could not find anything equivalent to the PageHandlerFactory for razor pages. It appears as though it is just an internal mechanism in the .net 4.0 ISAPI handler.
The site is currently running on Windows 2003 server and IIS 6. We will be upgrading to 2008/IIS 7.5 in the near future, but I'd prefer not to wait for that. Is there any way to get the .html files to be parsed by razor as if they were .cshtml files?
Is there a lib i can use to diff between two pieces of code and display it in html? I am using diff - GNU diffutils version 2.7, C#, asp.net. I dont mind the code being in javascript.I would like just the output with color text + css. I'll build the page around it. Does anyone know a suitable lib?
View 1 RepliesThere is an asp.net page that loads html file. the problem is that this html file is on another website and I need to show only part of this HTML file. in this case, I need to show one image only.
