View 4 RepliesI have a table on my page. I need to scroll down a little to get to that table. In that table i have som data that i edit and save to database. When the save is done i need to refresh the page( Response.Redirect(Request.RawUrl )) so it loads the new data to that table. When the refresh is done the page is on top again so that i need to scroll down again to see the table. This makes it very unusable for the user.
How can i refresh the page without it going back to top again? I tryed wrapping an updatepanel around the table but it didnt

I have master page
MyMasterPage.aspx and content page MyDefault.aspx.
MyMasterPage.aspx has one input button [value="Menu-1"]. When user click the button, the button will pass value "Menu-1" into
TextBox1Default1 at content page MyDefault.aspx, and then refresh
UpdatePanelDefault1 at content page MyDefault.aspx asynchronously.
My problem is the post back is full post back when refreshing UpdatePanelDefault1. I would like asynchronously post back during refreshing UpdatePanelDefault1. copy the full code MyMasterPage.aspx and MyDefault.aspx below, and then paste / overwrite it into your blank aspx page for testing. I am a beginner to web development and ASP.NET. I am creating a web application (not public, so SEO, bookmarking etc. is of no concern) with the typical layout of header on top, Navigation on the left, content on the right. I want the content to update without the whole page reloading when selecting something on the navigation bar. What is the typical way to implement this? MasterPage with ContentPages and using an UpdatePanel (tried this, but does not seem to work, I guess because the URL is different for each content page)? Using Frames? Using an iFrame for the content part? UserControls for the content part

View 3 RepliesI have a circumstance where the user must select a bunch of preliminary data on a treeview and multiple dropdown listboxes before any major data entry can begin. Using a Session variable, I've implemented a mechanism to retore this preliminary data should the user accidentally refresh the page. This works fine. But unfortunately the same mechanism is run when the user intentionally leaves the page and then later returns in the same session. I'd like to prevent this. What are the best practices to differentiate between a Page Refresh vs. Leave a Page and Returning to it?

I have a page which has a grid to be modified at the end of the page. I have validations when modifying the values in the grid on text changed events and also button for edit and delete the rows on the grid.Everything works fine except the page refresh which takes to the top of the page each time i click on the button in the grid or when validation occurs. Please help me how to control the page to stay in the current position after refresh. I tried using the focus but then I don't feel that is not exactly what I am looking for. It only takes to the control but still the bottom part of the grid will not be visible and also if there are so many controls and events in the page, I cannot set the focus to every control which are below the grid.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to set a page to refresh after adding some data to it's underlying database. However, I am also notifying the user that the insertion has been made via a popup window, which is generated by the following code:
[Code]....
I have tried using Response.Redirect(<pagename>) before and after calling the addedPopup, but both prevent the popup. I also tried using a flag for whether the page needs refreshing or not, checking this flag in the Page_Load method, but due to the page lifecycle this obviously doesn't work.
How can I force a page refresh after the popup? The refresh is to update a lists and clear selections.
I have a problem when I try to pass in paramaters for a report in my report viewer. I have set up the ObjectDataSource and set the paramaters for 3 text boxes that are on the page. The only way I have found to set the paramaters for the report is the user must fill in the paramaters and hit the refresh button on the Report Viewer toolbar ,but I would like to have the user click a asp.net button insted. Is there anyway to call the refresh method from codebehind?
