I am dynamically creating dragrids in different rows of an existing datagrid in asp.NET
My generated datagrids have a column which is TemplateColumn (a CheckBox Column).
In my parent datagrid, I have a template column with checkboxes. when I check or uncheck the value of the check box, the check_change method is called (autopostback is set to true), the dynamically generated datagrids lose the checked checkboxes (the checkboxes are all unchecked again). However, if i check any of the checkboxes of the child (dynamically generated) grids and press F5, it refreshes the page but still I have my checked checkboxes.
What's happening ?? how is post-back different from refresh F5??? understanding this might help me fix my problem here :DataGrid not being altered!
There is a asp:Label in the page for showing message from server.
The message can be sent by server at any time.
I added a handler to update the Label's Text, like following:
void MessageReceived(object senders, EventArgsMessageReceived e)
{
lblMessage.Text = e.Message;
lblMessage.DataBind(); //To show the message
}
I am sure the break point of 'lblMessage.Text = e.Message;'' is hitted.
But the DataBind() seems not work, and the label isn't updated.
Whats the diffrence between pageload and page postback in asp.net
how it affect on page life cycle.
I have a masterpage with a checkout total for goods. WHen i add to the cart i press the button which adds to the cart but i want to refresh the checkout total on my masterpage.how can i do this on postback?if i change page the total updates fine
View 2 RepliesI've got a page with several gridviews that populate on page load. After user makes choices with radio buttons insid the gridview and presses submit I would liek the page to refresh and reload all gridviews.
postback page load loop and data doesn't get saved to the DB so I have to use If not Page.IsPostback then to avoid the loop.
After pressing submit, if I navigate to another page, then navigate back, I get the desired result I'm looking for a fresh reload.
how can I have the entire page reload fresh after the submit button is pressed? (it has to save data first then reload)
What i am trying to do here is to show a couple of validation messages in form of a bulletlist, so i have a Div on my master page containing a asp:bulletlist. Like this:
<div>
<asp:BulletedList ID="blstValidationErrorMessage" runat="server" BulletStyle="Disc">
</asp:BulletedList>
</div>
When i then click the Save button from any of my pages (inside the main contentPlaceHolder) i create a list of messages and give this list as datasouce like this:
blstValidationErrorMessage.DataSource = validationMessageCollection;
blstValidationErrorMessage.DataBind();
The save button is located inside an updatepanel:
asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="UpdatePanel" ChildrenAsTriggers="true" UpdateMode="Conditional">
Nothing happens, i can see that the datasource of the bulletlist contains X items, the problems must arise because the Save button is inside an update panel and the elements outside this updatepanel (master page controls for example) is not refreshed.
So my question is, how do i make the bulletlist refresh after the postback?
I have 2 checkboxes (yes/no) that when selected cause the entire page to refresh during postback mode. How can I elimiate this?

I just want to know how to detect a page is refreshed or reloaded apart from Postback. Just clicking the reload button in the browser...
View 1 RepliesI have an update panel with content that needs to be updated by a listview item which is a linkbutton, in .NET 3.5 I just used the defaults on all the controls and everything worked fine, after the upgrade to 4.0 the linkbutton causes a full postback with page refresh. I did try setting the linkbutton's id as the trigger for the update panel and still causes same page refresh. The scriptmanager is on the masterpage with enablepartialrendering = true.
View 2 RepliesI have problem with user control: MyCollection : UserControl
MyCollection contains:
[code]....
Works fine unless I register event for some button:
button1.Click += ...
When click on button, nothing happens - page does postback, refresh but event handler method is not executed. Generated HTML is bit strange. Every page control has correctly generated ClientID including parent container ID.
Button in this collection MyCollection has odd ClientID - itemsAddresses$button1
Here is the sample code am trying.
<div>
<asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server" EnablePartialRendering="true" />
<div>
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server" UpdateMode="conditional">
<Triggers>
<asp:PostBackTrigger ControlID="Button1" />

This upload is working. But why the page is getting refreshed? this is not partial post back and instead it 's full post back. i have read the articles for the fileuplaod with issue inside the update panel. is there any way to achieve this asynchronous upload on button click?
I don't want to use the Ajaxtoolkit Asyncupload because that will upload (Ref : [URL] ....] the moment when we seelct the file itself which i don't want to do that. i need to do on the button click event.
I have many controls like dropdown, radiobuttonlist, etc on my page and I put all these controls inside the update panel so that the page doesn't look to be posting back when something is selected. Now the working on the page is very smooth. But the session object isn't getting refreshed even if I postback to the server and as a result even if the users are working on the page they are being sent to the login screen after 20 mins.
Is there anyway where I could put all the controls in update panel and still refresh the session after any postback(dropdown selection)
I have a table on my page. I need to scroll down a little to get to that table. In that table i have som data that i edit and save to database. When the save is done i need to refresh the page( Response.Redirect(Request.RawUrl )) so it loads the new data to that table. When the refresh is done the page is on top again so that i need to scroll down again to see the table. This makes it very unusable for the user.
How can i refresh the page without it going back to top again? I tryed wrapping an updatepanel around the table but it didnt

I have a page in which I am not using cache by using this code:
HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache.SetExpires(DateTime.UtcNow.AddDays(-1));
HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache.SetValidUntilExpires(false);
HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache.SetRevalidation(HttpCacheRevalidation.AllCaches);
HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache);
HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache.SetNoStore();
Now I want to know: Is there any difference between coming to this page using a proper link or coming back using browser back button, or is there any way to detect this?

I have a page that is opened in a popup window from the main page. Once i click insert it pops up a message that says you have successfully added blah blah. Then once you click ok it closes the popup page and goes back to the main page. I want to be able to refresh the main page back to how it was when you first land on the page. Here is the code for my insert button:

I have master page
MyMasterPage.aspx and content page MyDefault.aspx.
MyMasterPage.aspx has one input button [value="Menu-1"]. When user click the button, the button will pass value "Menu-1" into
TextBox1Default1 at content page MyDefault.aspx, and then refresh
UpdatePanelDefault1 at content page MyDefault.aspx asynchronously.
My problem is the post back is full post back when refreshing UpdatePanelDefault1. I would like asynchronously post back during refreshing UpdatePanelDefault1. copy the full code MyMasterPage.aspx and MyDefault.aspx below, and then paste / overwrite it into your blank aspx page for testing. I am using VS 2008
Below is full code MyMasterPage.aspx.[Code]....
I am writing a web application which consists of a master page (header / menus) which does not change and content pages. When I do something like click on a button it causes a post back which is correct but this redraws the whole screen and becomes annoying because every post back and the whole screen flickers.
Is there a way to only refresh the content page?
