Put Value From Textbox To Grid Without Using Database?
Jun 29, 2010
how to put values from a hidden field into a grid without using a database on click of add button.basically im entering some values into textboxes and i've to put these values into a gridview first.so i was taking all the values in a hidden field and trying to put them in a grid.
I am trying to generate a Grid view from database, in one of my database columns the values are 'y' and 'N'. and i need to show this values in a check box .I tried to keep a check box in item template and tried to bind it, but could get much success.
I have a panel with a textbox on it. In the GridView I have a button in a template. I can send the row data from the button's OnClick to the text box easily enough.
[Code]....
Protected Sub GoToPreviewPage(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Dim row As GridViewRow = DirectCast(TryCast(sender, Control).NamingContainer, GridViewRow) Dim myRowIndex As Integer = row.RowIndex Textbox2.Text = Gridview1.Rows(myRowIndex).Cells(1).TextEnd Sub
When I added the ModalPopupExtender to the button and pointed it to the panel, now the button's OnClick event and OnClientClick and CommandName no longer fire. The Popup works fine, I'd just like to be able to pass the RowID to it.
When it gets inserted in the db the fields are blank except for volume and area so I think I have done something wrong when I'm trying to find the controls.
I want to filter a grid at server side based on the value typed in a text box. And the filter should happen as the user types in text box. Since there is no server side event like keypress on a textbox, I decided to do use the client side onkeypress event and call a server side code using PageMethod. But then ran out with the limitation of PageMethod being static and I can't access grid from server side code.
I have a GridView that checks to see who is online and then displays their profile information in it. I want to hide this from view and instead show textboxes containing the data from the Gridview and display it in the text boxes.
Then if a user changes the data and clicks submit the data will be updated. Now I am using a GridView over a form view as if I use the form view I get an error when it trys to check the GUID.
i have placed one link button and one panal along with textbox in it, now wt i want is to enable previously disabled textbox only for the perticular row i.e. when some body click on linkbutton of a row then the text box of that particular row become enable and visible.
i have a textbox , an 'add' button a gridview . All these are in an upadate panel. Using the 'Add' button i am adding the value in textbox into the grid . My gridview is having a button to edit and delete the details. On clicking the edit button i am showing the value in the selected row into the textbox and the on clicking the add button i am updating the details and again bind the grid. On clicking the delete button in gridview row i am deleting the value in the current row and bind the grid again.Everything is working fine but i want to set the focus to textbox after each operation. If iuse the following statement in corresponding operation it is causing the refresh of the update panel. I am not including the statement it will not cause a refresh .
I am having my girdivew as follows.URL....After selecting customer it will be as follows. URL...I would like to display the sum in the label available on the from.This is what I have written to display Amount in the amount textbox
<script type="text/javascript"> function multiplication(txtQuantity, txtRate, txtAmount) { var weight = document.getElementById(txtQuantity).value; var rate = document.getElementById(txtRate).value; document.getElementById(txtAmount).value = weight * rate;
I have a gridview with a column of text boxes bound to a value from a database. I should be able to edit the values in each of the text boxes and just print those new values(dont have to update into the database). But my method returns only the old values, not the new values entered into the text boxes.
I have a aspxtextbox and its validated from database.If text exists in database then it shows message Username exist.Now this is all happens on click of a aspxbutton after typing some text into aspxtextbox.I just want that when user defocus the textbox then it will automatically check from database and shows the message if exists.

I am trying to develop a web page on which a user can paste data that he cut from excel sheet. Most probably it would be a grid control. But I am not sure how it will take shape. Need something that can do Cut and Paste and later I will have to run tests to make sure that the data looks good, its clean and in correct format, to be uploaded to database.
From a user perspective, I can list of users in a grid with some associated checkboxes. When I click on a checkbox, I want to update the database straight away. No buttons involved.
I am new to MVC.
I am trying to work out if I can do this by using a BeginForm that wraps around each checkbox. It appears not, but how can clicking on a checkbox cause a POST?
Or maybe I can use a JQuery click or change event on the Checkbox? But in a grid the id for the checkbox is repeated, and I cannot get it to work even with 1 row of data.
The code below does not work. If I can get it to work, I need to send an AJAX post to call the method on the controller with the Model.UserId and the checkbox value;
i want to make a twitter like registration form using jquery and save data in database and display it in a grid after submitting data.this is what i got on net
In my ASP.Net application I have several pages that provide a list of items from the database. Currently we are using an UpdatePanel to refresh the whole list on a certain interval so that changes from other users will be propagated the screen. Obviously this isn't very efficient and we don't think it will scale well.What are some other methods for accomplishing this. Is there a specific pattern for addressing this issue?
