Row Cannot Be Found Or Changed?

When I try to Update or Delete a single selected item, it throws a "Row not found or changed." exception. Basically I only did a linq query and use most of the auto-generate function. I added LinqDataSource1_ContextCreated function,

For our ASP.NET project for school we had to build a sport event management web application.
We provide the application in three languages (English, Dutch & French) which you can switch all the time. This has worked all the time for all users, well that's what we think anyway.
Yesterday I found out that switching from one to another language isn't working for 2 of our users. So I started testing a bit and I always got this error.
I'll try to explain what happens behind the doors when changing the language:
First of all the current language is saved in a session so we don't have to check the user row every time a page loads. Besides that we save the language in the users row in the database.

I wasted the better part of the day on this and am no closer to a understanding the issue than what I was this morning.
I am looping through a set of objects and marking them for deletion. The 2nd one always causes the above exception. tb_invoice has a FK to tb_shipment.
As always, I am probably missing something very obvious, but I have stripped out so much from this code already that there is nothing left, and I am still getting this exception. This is a local SQL 2008 instance and there is of course nothing and nobody changing the invoice in between reading them and calling SubmitChanges().

I'm using Membership but allow to change UserName of specified user. I had user named Customer bound to role Customer, and then his username was changed to 123. Then i try to do something to get Roles of this user and get an error or empty result.

I have an ASP.NET page where at the top of the page is a search box. There are 2 text boxes - one is an autocomplete extender for the Name on a database, and one is just inputting the ID.The page features DetailsViews and GridViews primarily, and even when no account has been searched for, these display blank data which is not ideal. I sort of fixed this by using if (IsPostBack), encasing the elements in a placeholder and setting it to visible only if the page ispostback. But this doesn't cover if the user types in an incorrect ID.
Also, some accounts have huge amounts of data inside the GridView's. I had an issue where because I have no way of detecting when a data source's rows has changed, I end up binding whenever the page loads (Page_Load method). I've come to realise this is simply very bad - there are lots of times when the user can click various things in the page and have the page postback, and it takes an eternity to load each time I click something for accounts with lots of data.Anyway, my question is essentially two-fold but I have a feeling the solution will be similar:1: How can I detect when there are no accounts returned when searching, and disable the Grids/Detailsviews and show an error message?2: How can I figure out when the user searches for another account and only rebind the grids after that has happened?

After some code change I have published my AJAXised web application to the server and the application failes to work properly - something weird is going on, as all .aspx pages are displayed as an ASPX markup text (page declaration, html controls, etc.), rather than a page is being rendered as an html. I have not changed the webconfig, only changed my pages' content/code behind.

I have a Model named "User" and have three property: Name,Passport,Password what's more, I made the Model Verification with these three property When I want to Login,
I do this:

when I use the MVC2 RC(Visual Studio 2010 RC),It works will the Model Verification didn't check the "Name" property there are no errrers in ModelState but in the MVC2 (Visual Studio 2010,I downloaded it two days ago,the newest version) I changed nothing! but it doesn't work!~ there is an error in the ModelState and tells :The "Name" is null =.=|||

I am trying to build the MVC Music Store from ASP.Net, my only problem is that the tutorial is made for asp.net 4.0 C# and mvc2 an i am creating it with asp.net 3.5 VB mvc 1. For now i found out a lot of thing wich will work much better in the new frameworks, but my webhost still doesnt support it, because they have some problemms with PLESK.
Now i have a problem i cant figure out, i cant update data from a dropdown list, in the database using the updatemodel, that are foreign keys. Just all other data wich are not foreign keys and primary keys are updateable. These are automaticly created in the sql entity model.

SelectedIndex_Changed event occurs when selection changes, and selection is changed or not is decided by comparing dropdowns current selectedIndex and its value in viewstate.
When we changes dropdown's selected Item using Javascript, it does not change the viewstate's value (which is previously selectedIndex). Now if you change dropdown's selectedIndex to any new index it will work fine, but if you select the previously selectedIndex (which we reset using javascript), then postback will occur, but selectedIndex_changed function will not get fired because in viewstate of dropdown, selectedIndex is same as the Index we select after resetting it using javascript.

using asp.net you could create a listbox_valueChanged event and handle the user selection inside the event handler. How could i implement such a functionality using asp.net mvc? I guess that the best way could be to use ajax techniques in order to manage the user selection on the client side.

I have a Datagrid on ASP.NET web form which I have bound to a data source and set it to have 10 records per page. I also have a hyper link column on the Datagrid , such that a user can navigate to another page (details page) from the list. On the details page, they have "Cancle" button to return to the Datagrid pageI am looking for sample code snippet on the Server Side on how to specify the page index to set the Datagrid after data binding. The idea is to ensure the user navigates to the same page index they were on.

What is the best way to get the value of a dropdownlist control before it has been changed and after it has been changed. Can it be done in one routine? In other words, if a user clicks on a dropdownlist control and changes it's value, I need to get the old value and the new value and send both these values as input parameters to a stored proc.
