I have a table that has more than 50 million records and which does not have any partition. But now i want to add a partition scheme to this table. This table has a primary key. But i want to partition it on another int column. How can i do it?
View 4 RepliesI have partitioned a table and it has been partitioned according to an account id. ie also rows that have accountid =1 will be in A partition and all rows that have accountid = 2 will be in B partition. so now if i execute a query with where condition accountid =1 sql server will search only in A partition. Suppose if i add another condition to it ie where accountid=1 and place="aaa" will this query search only A partition or the entire table?
View 3 RepliesI have a design issue with a new project, the web application I'm developing is suppose to serve three different segments of business, each segment has a sligthly different requirement, but in all they share most of the same business needs, so I'm creating only one web application.
I've created three "Application" in the asp.net web administration tool.
I want to be able to create users related in each segment with their associated "Application" in membership store.
and when a users login(there is only one login pag) to the application to be redirected to his specified application.
The thing is the web.config configuration alows you to define one "Application" name, and hence the membership APIs pick up only that application.

my main intention is that, the exsisting table of sql server database(.dbo) with 1000's of records, that should be import to a new access database table(.mdb).for example if we want to had a new table in db2, of exsisting table in db1 with some conditions by using "select * into New_Tabel from (select * from Exsisting_Table where <Condition>) as objectName". Here the new table is created and records inserted in one execution in db2. The same work should be done for access(sqlserver db --> Access db).Here the new access database table with given name (as string_sysdate) must be created dynamically by clicking a button (multiples time creating new table).Is there any query or c# code for sql server database to access database.

I have two tables for storing language translations - tblEN and tblES. They have the same structure which is nvcEnglish and nvcLocal - both nVarChar fields.
In nvcLocal of the Spanish table, I enter the Spanish translations of words and phrases used within my app. Problem is, when I add a bunch of new records to the English table I also have to go in and repeat the data entry into the Spanish table. I am wondering if there is a way to import the newly added records into the Spanish table using Transact SQL?The plain language query would be something like:

That is used for transferring the data from the tableA to tableB daily at evening..
now my problem is ..
i've huge amount of data i.e upto 2GB of data while transferring for first time
the whole amount data is transferred.. and now i want to transfer only the daily updates
i.e what data i've entered today that much only it should transfer instead of whole data (2GB)..

I have table a and would like update table a whose values from table b, but not update all rows at table a. Only update record ID in table a match record ID in tableC.
Here is my query

I only have 12 a.ID match TableC, but above query update whole TableA.
How to only update 12 record at TableA from TableB?

As I know, we can use INSERT INTO (....) SELECT FROM command to select data from one table and can insert into another table.
Now I need instead of 1 table, I want to select data from one table and Insert into another 2 tables.
Shall I write another INSERT INTO (..) SELECT FROM command or is there any other way?
When I created table on the shared SQL server on hosting server using management studio, I right click mouse on the table, it pops up create table. However, the table schema is my user name but not dbo. I wnat to create table with dbo schema.
