How do I use the Update command in GrideView?
I would like to use update command for specific fields in the dataset, but not all fields from database ( or maybe in GridView? )

I have a site which displays data form a MSAccess 2003 database in a DataGrid. For simplicity sake the data is products ie an ID, Name, Description and a value representing the amount in stock.I want to allow the user to update the stock field via the datagrid but not be able to change any of the other fields. As mentioned in above figure (LEFT SIDE) I have 8 grades in alphabetical order A, B, C, D, E, F, G and Z. There are different companies belong with different grades respectively. This is my database table situation. And I want an output like (RIGHT SIDE) figure in my grid view using SQL Query.
The grade position is skipped if there is no any raw or company name exists. And newly entered Company is automatically placed in that respective skipped grade position.

I have some code on click of Treeview Node, I fill out other data in Grid on click of Treeview Node.
Now the problem is when page posts back ( on click of Treeview Node ) , page flickers once during filling up data in Grid.
Basically whenever page.ispostback is true, page flickers, Now I want to avoid this.
I have to keep "SmartNavigation="false"" on this page because of some of the Treeview Problems.
Specifically on Node click of Treeview and on Update button press.

Problem beeing that on our development server (which runs server 2008 R2, with IIS 7.5 and .NET 3.5) returns a blank page without headers, but on my workstation (which runs win7, IIS 7.5 and .NET 3.5) it works fine.
What could be the cause of this? If the code in Application_OnError() throws an exception, what would be the expected output?
I have verified the following:
The access-log shows one entry, I'm not sure if a TransferRequest would show up as a second entry when invoked successfullyThe application actually do some work according to my internal logs, and it doesn't die since a subsequent requests works flawlessly (because routing will be active)

I have a function that checks for a username and if it finds the username it will allow the user to update the user, there are 3 main columns: Name,Age,isFemale. I have the enduser supply the information and then I try to update the record but I get a sql error for "not a valid" column.console app:

I get an error that column isFemale is not valid. The isFemale column is a bit type. If it's a 1, it's a female, if 0 male. this is more of a test area and I'm trying to update records or create new one's if the name does not exist.II am new to C # and I am just trying to learn new ideas and methods within C sharp.
I have a vb.net page that has an optional parameter. If a user enters data for that field, and clicks save, it saves fine via the stored procedure. HOWEVER, if the user changes their mind, and wants to erase the data they entered, they go to the text field, and delete the characters, and click save, but no matter what, the stored procedure will not save the fact that they erased the data (it won't set it back to NULL). If the user enters a space, the stored procedure will save the space, and if they enter different data, it will save the other data. I can't figure out how to get it back to letting them set it to Null? I think this is because it's an optional parameter, and the stored proc is used by several forms (Some of those forms do not include this parameter), but this form utilizes that optional paramater.

I have a table of skills. In that table, are rows of data with various skill type. I need to return a list of those skills in alphabetical order, with one exception. The skills "General" can't be listed in the "G's", instead, it needs to be the last item. (Crazy, I know, but it's to discourage users from settling on a selection of "General".
This statement returns all the skills in alphabetical order, but "General" is listed right in the middle with other "G's:
