What's the best method to allow a user to search in a specific field for a record(s) containing the keywords they enter into a textbox? I am considering using the streamreader to obatin the values from textbox into an array, so I can build dynamic query using the stringbuilder. Is there a cleaner or more efficient method to approach this common search functionality?
My application for "Members subscriptions registration" working online and different users using it.
Database type is Mssql Server 2008 R2, Size is around 1 Gb
What happen exactly there is specific record delete from table "Members" in random times, For example I add 100 new subscriptions with around 800 records and make confirm and checking next day find it loss 3 records find it deleted.
I checked all the applications no any delete query, I removed all delete query from application to make sure no any delete also I save any delete query happen in system inside table for log.
I am sending 1 httpWebRequest and reading the response. I am getting full page in the response. I want to get 1 div which is names ad Rate from the response. So how can I match that pattern?
My code is like:
HttpWebRequest WebReq = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create("http://www.domain.com/"); HttpWebResponse WebResp = (HttpWebResponse)WebReq.GetResponse(); Stream response = WebResp.GetResponseStream(); StreamReader data = new StreamReader(response); string result = data.ReadToEnd();
I have an ASP.NET GridView in a Web Form. This GridView using a SqlDataSource and utilizes paging and searching. For the sake of reference, here is the trimmed down version of it:
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="myDataSource" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:DB %>" SelectCommand="SELECT p.[ID], p.[Name], p.[Email], l.[State], l.[City] FROM [Person] p, [Location] l WHERE p.[LocationID]=l.[ID] ORDER BY p.[Name]" UpdateCommand="UPDATE [Person] SET [Email] = @Email WHERE [ID] = @ID" /> <asp:GridView ID="myGridView" runat="server" DataSourceID="myDataSource" AllowPaging="true" AllowSorting="true" PageSize="25" AutoGenerateEditButton="true"
[Code]....
The data source has a lot of records. At least 25,000. Because of this, I want to allow the user to filter by state. I want to provide a drop down list with a list of states. When a user changes the drop down list, the results in the grid view will be filtered by the selected state. However, I do not know how to do this with a SqlDataSource.
I am creating an application with html using vb as the back end. Microsoft Visual Studio is the application I am using.
My question: I have two drop down boxes...one called department, the other program. When a department is selected, I want the program dropdown to only display the programs that are associated with the department chosen. I have found several different codes to do this but nothing has worked so far.
How do I just get the first line of a multiline textbox? Either that or delete everything after "<br/>"? I tried something like this but it doesn't work:
How to start at a specific record and returning only the next 5 records with T-SQL command
[Code]....
That is my concatenated SQL statement but it obviously does not work because it only looks at the top 5 records in the entire table instead of what I intended which would be to look at the top 5 records starting with the record where PostNumber equals the value of lastPost. I have been searching for a T-SQL statement that will allow me to do this but I can't find one.
in my system folder(E:\santhu) i have flat files(.txt and .doc ) .my problem is how to read those files automatically one by one and store the data(records) in to database?
The website is over half way done and the functionality for the blog is (except for adding posts) is already implemented and working correctlyI have a SQLExpress 2008 backendBlog posts are rendered on the page with full HTML markup within a label control.
All of the above is done and working. Though I am essentially new to creating websites with ASP.NET, CSS and SQL, I am sure that I could simply carry on and make a login page with some controls that would allow me to add records (blog posts) directly to the database on the host server. However, I am fearful of doing this because I know that malicious code can be passed in this way. Also, because of my lack of knowledge, the only way that I know of to pass the code from a control to the database is to disable validation for the page the control is on. Without a doubt I do not want to do that.
So what are my options for getting blog posts into the database? Is it safest for me to fully create the post in html and update a copy of the database that resides on my local machine? If I do it this way, how can I merge the records from the database on the local machine with the records on the remote server?
In my asp.net gridview i want to count how much peoples are qualified in MCA and display the value in a lbel in same page. The qualifications are in COURSE field in my table anme persadata

One is for the search page and after searching results is populated below. The contract id in the grid view is a hyperlink so that when user clicks on it, they will go to another page and view the specific records tied to it. How shld I do this as I am creating this web application in 3-tier formatting.

I published my web.The problem is that the path to the DataBase is not good and i dont know how to change it.heare is the error:A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. I am using Sql Server 2008 to connect to a Remote Server. Everything was working fine for the last couple of months, and i was successfully connecting to the remote server. Today it suddenly stopped connecting to the remote server. note that i did not alter any configuration settings. Did my isp block Sql Server. My ISP is using ISA SERVER? The error details are:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (.Net SqlClient Data Provider) I am using Microsoft Firewall Client For ISA Server for opening ports. But today nothing is working.
I have a webapplication based on MonoRail, where we utilize the routing feature from MonoRail. On the first request after the application has started, the routing isn't initialized. To circumvent this, I have the following code in Application_OnError():
public virtual void Application_OnError() { if ( // identified as routing error ) Server.TransferRequest( Context.Request.RawUrl, false ); return; }
Problem beeing that on our development server (which runs server 2008 R2, with IIS 7.5 and .NET 3.5) returns a blank page without headers, but on my workstation (which runs win7, IIS 7.5 and .NET 3.5) it works fine.
What could be the cause of this? If the code in Application_OnError() throws an exception, what would be the expected output?
I have verified the following:
The access-log shows one entry, I'm not sure if a TransferRequest would show up as a second entry when invoked successfullyThe application actually do some work according to my internal logs, and it doesn't die since a subsequent requests works flawlessly (because routing will be active)
I tried this code by inputting the ftp address as ftp//: and the correct username and password and I get the following error
"Unable to connect to the remote server" on line :
FtpWebResponse Response = (FtpWebResponse)Request.GetResponse();I tired this on my ftp server provided by a hosting service and an anonymous ftp located at 193.166.120.5 ?
Note: I was able to connect to both of these ftp through filezilla, via a webbrowser, and through windows command line.
I was wandering if I can make this faster. I am taking records out of Oracle and putting them into a SQL Server. btw, I am inserting into the Identity column
