I am writing a simple web page that users can upload an image file. After the file is uploaded, Users can fill up other question in the web page. then users click the submit button to register them and the file is uploaded previously is move to special folder and is saved there. Know i want to delete the uploaded file if the user upload the file but dont click the submit button and close the web page. because i dont need the file uploaded until the user is not registered.I use Session_End event but i dont know why it dont work.

That link is added throug JavaScript in OnClientUploadComplete JavaScript function. And this Delete link calls another JavaScript function that in turn calls Web Service method. So now I need to store these files & where is the better place to store in it. Shall I create a folder giving low permission inside the current project? or shall I create separate virtual directory like "www.mydomain.com/files" & place in it. I want to prevent the restarting of application domain also.

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to allow logged user who are in department XYZ to perform some task for my third party App. I have two SQL tables named Users & UserList. The third party app (GoldMine) graps the USERNAME from the Users table and store it as UserID which I then referecnce SessionID. The UserList table has two columns (GM_UserName & Department) which I'm interested in. When a user login into the 3rd party app (GoldMine), i then compare the USERNAME (from Users table) to GM_UserName (from UserList table) and see whether GM_UserName is in = 'Dept XYZ'. Take a look at the SQL query below.

I'm able to do this.

In onload method of page, i create a new object of that class and after file uploaded, i fill some information of file to that object(name, size, extention,type). I create a method in class to delete that file. But When i use it, the error "The process cannot access the file 'D: emp25.jpg' because it is being used by another process." is appear. I thinks the object is using the file uploaded and i can't delete file.What's the problem and how can i solve it? I need to delete file.
View 5 RepliesMy system Uploads files to an IIS server and then i manipualate them and after finished doing every thing, i need to delete the original file, the problem is that the IIS "grabs" the file and i can't delete it, when i close the procces i can delete it manualy from the server, but until i close the procces i can't even do that...

We are using ASP security on the site, i found months back a tutorial on implementing a pretty simple management page that allows you to create, edit, delete and add roles as well as adding users to roles from 1 page..
It has been working fine, but we added our own security matrix to the site, everything that has to do with the ASP side of the security works as expected and no issues or concerns.. but with our matrix in place, i need to tie the 2 together for 1 thing.. the deleting of a user..
The delete function works great.. but i would like to add my delete to that function so that the users security matrix is deleted as well when their account is done.
Within the class that is handling all the membership functionality, there is this portion tha handles the deleting, i would like to add a call to my class that has the delete method so that when you click delete, the membership account as well as the matrix record is deleted. Since the delete is already setup within my 2nd class, how can i call it to execute it from within the first class?

I want to keep the uploaded file name to make it possible to users to download the file under the same name. But how can I implement it? The one option I see is to store each file to folder with unique name (GUID, for example).
