Turning A Single Instance Web Application Into Multiple Instances - Concept?

Here is a conceptual questions that I was going over the last few days. I have a simple application that I want to turn into a hosted solution.
My take on it is that in a sense each record in the database would have its own ID representing the hosted instance of the application, rather
than installing the application each time a new one is needed. Then I can easily differentiate between the instances, however I don't want to
store the instance ID in a session (bad for URL back links etc.) and don't really want to add it as part of the URL.
What would you suggest ?
Another part of the question would be how to pragmatically create a sub-domain representing the application instance, however that's a

2.)if suppose There are Three Windows application hosted on a same envoirment and two instance is working for each application at a Time, means now total instance are six .what will happen among the below written cases :

I am trying to use the concept of Single Sign On (SSO) in my asp.net application.
for the purpose i have created a main domain say
mydomain.com.
now i have 2 subdomains
sub1.mydomain.com & sub2.mydomain.com.
I am running these very fine. But now I want to have a SSO for my domains. For the same have
googled lot and found some stuff such as adding machine key to web.config and specifying domain names in cookies.
But it is not at all working for me. when I specify the domain name for cookies i am unable to sign out.
I am using FormsAuthentication in asp.net.
Following is the code I have in my web.config.

I have the same code in web.config of each domain.
I have placed the code for each domain in different directory on my website.
for ex. mydomain.com ---------> F:/HostedSites/mydomain
sub1.mydomain.com ---------> F:/HostedSites/subdomain1
sub2.mydomain.com ---------> F:/HostedSites/subdomain2
my Authentication code is

and sign out code is

Can anybody tell me where exactly I am wrong ? what changes do i need to do at server end also.
I am checking this on my testing domain ie. mydomain.tv. can this be a problem ?

I am using classified starter kit for various purposes like for business listing,classified listing and event listing.These are 3 independent application with their membership information stored in their independent database.I have used this 3 listings in a portal .I need a single sign on now.
I tried to do with machinekey & cookie .This way user able to login but as there is no record in that database for that user.So even if he post anything in that application it stores memberid field as zero. So in this case what should be done. i am stuck here since few weeks.

As always with .net, there are many ways of achieving the same thing, so what is the easiest way of achieving the following?

In the repeater, there are a number of dropdownlist controls. Each one is hooked up to an event which triggers when changed. When one instance is changed I would like to disable all other instances of the DDL control.

I'm trying to learn the ropes of ASP.NET MVC and so far so good. One thing which I haven't seen addressed yet is the 'right' or most elegant way to pass multiple data models to a view. To help put the question in context, take this example: Say I was making a blog. When I log in I want the home screen to display a list of all new unapproved comments, as well as a list of recently registered users, and a list of the most recently submitted blog posts.
Most discussions I've seen suggest strongly-typing the view page so it can be called with something like "return View(RecentComments)" and iterate through the comments in the view, or to cast the data model like "var NewUsers = (MembershipUserCollection) ViewData.Model". What I'm ideally after is the 'right', or at least a 'right-enough', way of passing multiple models while still maintaining appropriate logic separation.

I am having a simple Azure cloud app(WebRole=ASP.Net MVC) which draws charts using ASP.Net Charting control. Chart RenderType = ImageMap Chart ImageLocation = "/Images/Chart_#SEQ(1000,1)" Number of app instances deployed on Windows Azure = 5 App contains a button which draws charts as per users parameters. When user clicks on this button, MVC action is called which provides necessary ViewData for drawing chart and returns a partial view which after getting rendered sends ImageMap and Image location to client.
When I try to draw charts from IE8 I always get the charts as per my parameters but when I simulataneously try to draw charts on FireFox sometimes I get wrong charts(wrong images). Is is due to roundrobin used - #SEQ(1000,1) or due to mutiple instances of my cloud app?

Im trying to implement an unit of work pattern by passing an unit of work instance into my repositories.
Relevant code from Global.asax.

What i want is that a maximum of 1 instance of SqlUnitOfWork is created per request and is passed into my repositories (via their respective constructors).
Is the InRequestScope() method on the IUnitOfWork binding enough? If not how can i achieve this?

I have a web application using window authentication. There are a search page and a edit page in the application. In search page, user can enter some search criterias in the textboxes and the search result will be displayed in the gridview by clicking the "Search" button. User can select any row from the gridview and it will take him to the edit page. In the edit page, there is a "Back" button to take the user back to the search page. I use session variables to remember what the search criterias the user entered in the textboxes and what page number the user was in the gridview. So when the user goes back to the search page, the textboxes are pre-populated with the search criterias and the gridview is displayed in the correct page number.
The problem is: If user1 opened one browser window and did a search using search criterias1, then user1 opened a 2nd browser window and did a search using search criterias2. When the user1 went back to the search page from the edit page using the first browser window, all the textboxes and page numbers are from the 2nd browser window, instead of the 1st one. Can anyone explain this problem to me and how to prevent it? It will be helpful too if you can give me some links about the similar problem. I am thinking if the same user logged on two different machines and did the search on each machine, what is the result?

I want to use my asp.net mvc application with multiple domains (maybe of hundreds),
so I have created custom Route class that matches requests including domain.
Each domain could has different routes, so the number of routes in RouteTable can be huge
(eg 500 domains, each 20 routes = 10000 routes in RouteTable).
I am considering how it will be efficient?
I have an idea to replace RouteTable.Routes (of type RouteCollection)
with custom one (of type Dictionary<string, RouteCollection>).
But how I can override default route matching mechanism with my custom mechanism which will be two step:
1) retrieve RouteCollection from dictionary based on domain name
2) retrieve specyfic Route object (standard route matching mechanism)
How can I do this?

I have created a Web Control in ASP for use in integrating with Telligent CommunityServer. The control is written in ASP with some 10 lines of C# backend for controlling visibility of the UI elements based on permissions, but I'd say 90% of the functionality is straight-up Javascript. The control works beautifully, until you drop two instances of the Control on the same page--since they reference the exact same Javascript functions, only one control works. How can I take this functionality that I have, this 1200 lines of Javascript, and make it so that each instance of the control can reference its each unique instance of Javascript?

We migrated our web server to window server 2008, IIS 7.
We have single sign on application - that we login through one application called "users" and then no need to login to other applications, they all use the same machine key and cookie.
it works fine when all then applications under the same application pool.
but we have one application that is asp.net 2005. (the rest are asp.net 2003) the user application is in asp.net 2003 and that other application is in asp.net 2005.
so each application is in a different application pool. -
one pool to asp.net 1.1 and other pool to asp.net 2.
when I run the asp.net 2005 application
I get the login page and after I login I get the following errer:
HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Requested Url: /users/Unauthorised.aspx
Important: If I switch the "user" application (the login) to work under the same pool as my asp.net 2005 application, then it works fine with the asp.net 2005 application,but I get the above error for the asp.net 2003 applications
All this happened after we switched to IIS 7 Windows 2008, with IIS 6 it works great!

We have an MVC.NET application that encounters fatal errors when it restarts. In our Session_Start event handler, we add the session id to a dictionary. In the Session_End handler, we remove it. Consider the following sequence of requests:
GET home.mvc
<application restarts>
GET main.css
GET banner.jpg
GET somedata.mvc
...
Because of the way the application is architected, this sort of sequence happens fairly frequently if you do a rebuild while the application is open in a browser window. That wouldn't be terribly concerning except that I see it in production environments too. For example, it will occur (albeit rarely) when you edit web.config.
The requests following the restart are all due to links in the home page or AJAX calls from JavaScript.
What I observe is that .NET handles the first 5 requests in parallel. Each such request causes it to fire the Session_Start event. After a short time, it fires the Session_End event 3 times. To be clear, each Session_Start corresponds to the exact same session. They all have the same session id and the IsNewSession property is true for all session state objects. Also, the Session_End events do not correspond to the session being killed. The session persists, along with any data stored in session state.
I need to either prevent it from firing Session_Start more than once or figure out how to tell when Session_End doesn't really mean that the session has ended.

We got a problem that Sessions got mixed up when open multiple tab in a single application. We could change the code that do not use session variable in a that level, but a tons of page need to be modified. We need to find a quick fix for this problem. Is any thing we can do in code level to prevent user open multiple tab in a single application? O any thing we can do to keep its own session for a single tab?

I am looking at how best to prevent a single user account logging on multiple times in a webforms application. I know that MembershipUser.IsOnline exists, but I've read a few forum and blog entries suggesting that this can be unreliable, particularly in scenarios where a user closes a browser (without logging out) and attempts to logon with a different machine or browser.I looked at implementing a last past the post type system; when a user logs on older users are simply kicked off. It seems that FormsAuthentication.Signout() only works for the current user.

In an aspx page I am calling a jquery plugin for two listboxes as below.

Managed to solved this issue by having same class name for both the listboxes and then passing both the list box objects to the plugin
$('select.select_field').custSelectBox(null, $('#EditUsers_Organisations'), $('#EditUsers_AdditionalLanguages'));
This might not be the best solution but nothing else worked for me.

YARPQ - Yet Another Regex Pattern Question:
What I am trying to figure out is how to use a custom delimiter, single character or set of characters, to wrap a block of text inside a larger body of text and then pull that text out via regex. I have successfully done this with a single instance of wrapped text. If I have multiple instances, it blows up. Here is an example.
This would be my text block with the internally wrapped text:

When my current regex runs on this block, the greedy nature gives me a match starting with my first wrapped block delimeter and ending with my second wrapped block end delimeter. So my regex of @"#Delim(.*)#EndDelim" doesn't work in this instance. I am trying to figure out how to exclude the #EndDelim from my grouping. Simply using ([^#EndDelim]*) doesn't work as it tells regex to ignore the individual characters inside the brackets and not the actual word so this breaks if I have any of those characters inside my wrapped block of text.
I am probably making this harder than it needs to be. Does anyone know of a good solution or how to ignore entire words in regex?

I'm having problems with retrieving multiple instances of a session variable from an InProc session state. In the following code I persist a simple BusinessObject into a session variable on the Page_Load event. On the click of a button I try to retrieve the object back into 2 new declared instances of the same BusinessObject. All works great until I change one of the properties in the first instance, it changes the second instance as well. Is this normal behaviour? I would have thought as these were new instances they wouldn't demonstrate static behaviour?

I've been working on an usercontrol with a jquery timer in it. At first I had the jquery within the usercontrol. But when I add 2 of those controls to my page the second usercontrol isn't showing it's data very well.Now I've put the jquery into the mainpage and the usercontrol only uses the id's of the jquery.

I have a user control that I place on a page severl times. When I make a selection on a ddl in one one control the SelectedIndexChanged event fires for all the control on the page for that ddl. So I get duplication of an insert that I do. Is there a ay to make sure these events are isolated so this doesn't happen.

I have an ASP.NET page inside of an ASP.NET Master page, and inside the page I have two instances of the same web user control. I have given them different IDs, but when I click a button on the first user control it causes the second user control to do the expected activity and the first one does nothing. Is there something I need to do to make sure that the controls don't get confused?
