Update Button Of GridView Not Firing
Sep 2, 2011
The Update button of the gridview is not firing. I checked the database table to make sure that the read/write privileges are set - they are. The primary key is defined, and the DataKeyNames attribute is set.
Code:
<asp:GridView ID="GridViewLabor" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False"
DataSourceID="SqlDS_WtrBrkWOLabor" BackColor="White" BorderColor="#E7E7FF" BorderStyle="Solid"
BorderWidth="1px" CellPadding="3" Width="100%" DataKeyNames="WorkOrderLaborID" Font-Size="8pt"
Font-Strikeout="False" AutoGenerateDeleteButton="True" AutoGenerateEditButton="True"
EnableTheming="True" >
[Code] ....
And the data source:
Code:
<asp:SqlDataSource id="SqlDS_WtrBrkWOLabor" runat="server"
connectionstring="<%$ ConnectionStrings:TheConnectionString %>"
selectcommand="SELECT [WorkOrderLaborID], [WorkOrderID], [WOTechName], [WOLaborHours],
[Code] .....

i have a webcontrol that contains a modal popup that allows the user to enter in some information. When the user clicks submit the popup should close and the gridview on the page update. The problem that im currently getting is the page refresh is done before the data is inserted and is currently the last action fired in the life cycle. How can i make the insert within the control the first thing to happen in the page life cycle or update the page gridview once the popup has inserted the information. Im currently placing the datagrid within an update panel with updatemode set to conditional and a trigger on the custom control.

I have a GridView which has normal Edit/Update button. However, my GV RowUpdating, RowEditing & RowCancelingEdit is working with 2 clicks. If I am clicking it once, its not working :(
Here is the code where I am populating everything:
public partial class Testing : System.Web.UI.Page
{
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
string getEntity = Request.QueryString["EntityID"];
[Code]....
This is my whole code at code behind. What I am doing wrong here?

I have a gridview that contains a textbox, a drop down, and a checkbox. The commandfield of the gridview has ShowEditButton="true". All of the gridview updating takes place in the "_OnRowUpdating" event. I have a Panel above the gridview with a table and some fields. Everything in the gridview works perfectly, the edit, the update etc., however, when I add a requiredfieldvalidator to the panel above the gridview, the gridview update functionality no longer works. e.g., clicking the update button does not appear to fire. If I comment out the requiredfieldvalidator, everything works fine.

I've created an exact copy of this tutorial (vb) [URL] ....
However the delete click is not firing at all - I've removed the click confirmation too but the DeleteCustomers sub just isn't getting called. It compiles & runs fine with the edit/update actions.

Everyone of those events fire except the update. I click the update button and nothing happens.

I have a GridView control bound to an AccessDataSource. After selecting a row I'm creating a table inside the selected row. I'm adding Buttons to this table. Their Click event never gets fired. I read about recreating the buttons and stuff, but still no luck solving the issue.

I've got a button inside the gridview that isn't firing the onCommand, ONLY when I uncomment some seemingly unrelated code having to do with session in the page load.
Markup:
[Code]....
Code Behind:
[Code]....
Now here is the odd thing. If I comment out the If Not Session block in the page_load....it works and deleteUser will fire upon a button click. If I leave it uncommented as now.....it won't work.
The weird part is when I step through the code in debug, upon clicking the remove button, it still registers that as being clicked and runs page_load, etc again. But won't run deleteUser.

On grid RowDataBound based on some condition i've added imagebutton dynamically. parallelly i want to add event for this button click. here is my code snippet.
protected void GV3_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{
if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
{
TableCell cell = new TableCell();
ImageButton bttn = new ImageButton();
[Code]...
That message popup box comes, but i'm unable to catch that click event. while click on a row i want to delete that row, so want to create event dynamically. for that i've used this following dynamic click event
bttn.Click += new ImageClickEventHandler(b_Click);
private void b_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
//delete record
}
but this above code also not working.

I have a gridview that does a select statement against a sql database. What I want to do is have the data in the gridview refresh upon either hitting the back button or the forward button.
If the back button is pressed it should give me yesterdays data from the table. If I hit the forward button it should give me tomorrows data, at the same time i want the forward button to be limited to going forward only 5 days from todays date. I figure that I have to do this in a Updatepanel however I am unsure as to how to do this.

If my ASP.NET button starts out visible to the client, it works just fine when clicked:
<asp:ImageButton ID="btn_Submit" ImageUrl="~/images/submit.png" runat="server" onclick="btn_Submit_Click" />
However, if the button was inside a hidden div to start it does not fire after being revealed:
<div style="display: none;" id="hiddenDiv">
<asp:ImageButton ID="btn_Submit" ImageUrl="~/images/submit.png" runat="server" onclick="btn_Submit_Click" />
</div>
The DIV is unhidden with jQuery ($('#hiddenDiv').show()). Why would the button work when it starts out visible, but not when it started out hidden and was made visible in jQuery?

I have a web app and one of the forms has a gridview and also two tables.
Because of this, I have a save button that saves new data; and I also have update buttons that appear each time the user clicks Edit in a row of the gridview.
I would like to see if there's a way to combine my save with my update so that the user only has to click one time to save.
I was looking for the update button link that appears in my gridview via the source code page, but it's no where to be found.
Is there a way to move the update button or not show it? Not sure how to even start using the save to incorporate both.

When we give "ShowEditButton = true" in Command Field column in a GridView. It shows the Update and Cancel button. Is it possible to change the text of "Update" button? Instead of Update and Cancel, I want to display as "Confirm and Cancel".

I've got a .net button that has an href attribute value set to
javascript:WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new WebForm_PostBackOptions("ctl00$cp1$ucInvoiceSearch$btnSearch", "", true, "", "", false, true))
I've got a textbox that when I press enter I want it to fire this event. Doing the 'Enter' event isn't an issue but I can't get the event on the href to fire using .click(). Here's my function so far:
$("[id*='tbInvNo']").keyup(function(event){
var $btn = $(".pnl-invoice-search");
if(event.keyCode == 13)
$btn.click();
});

I have a gridview which shows a list of data... at the end of each item I have added a button which is linked to the onclick event... when a button is clicked I want a value to update on that specific row... but I can't get it to work :( my code is below...
SqlDataSource 1 code...
UpdateCommand="UPDATE [PurchaseProduct] SET [BDConfirmSent] = 'Yes' Where [Id] = @Id">
<UpdateParameters>
<asp:Parameter Name="Id" />
<asp:Parameter Name="BDConfirmSent" />
</UpdateParameters>
Code Behind...
Protected Sub SqlDataSource1_Updating(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSourceCommandEventArgs) Handles SqlDataSource1.Updating
e.Command.Parameters("@BDConfirmSent").Value = "Yes"
End Sub
Protected Sub Button1_Click()
SqlDataSource1.Update()
End Sub
When I click the button it just postsback the page but then the [BDConfirmSent] field is still empty instead of being "Yes"
