VS 2010 - Displaying Comments In Inner HTML

I have to display some HTML from our system and do by using
DivOutline.InnerHtml = outlinetext;
where outlinetext is a string of HTML
However the string contains code as below
"<!--[if !supportLists]-->"
which for some reason also gets displayed.
I think it could be because the actual string is
("<!--[
but even when I try
outlinetext.Replace("<", "<");
the text does not seem to get replaced
How to make the comments not display or why the string.replace function cannot pict out "<" when I can see it is definately in the string?

I am new in vb.net ... I am working on a project where users are able to post comments and also to be able to upload images. I am able to save the comments and also able to save the images to the database as a binary.
I am able to show the comments thru a listview as a user adds the comments, but how can i show the comments and the images. this would be similar like "Facebook"

I have the following code that is allowing me to save an image uploaded from a user into a root folder
HTML Code:

Question one: Once i upload the file and i click on the ImageStorage folder, i don't see an image, but if i exit the entire applicxation and then i go back in i am able to see the image. How can i refresh the folder wothout having to exit the application?
I am trying to display the image once is uploaded. i have the following to display the image:

I have a members website where they can create their own logon. when the user logs in the login name displays in the header of the page. this is what that codes look like:

I would like to also have the login name to be display on a textbox, which then I will save it to the data base and then I would use as an ID for retrieving comments and pictures that the user uploads. The name of the text box is Textuserid.txt.

I have a page with a couple of grids on it, one displays a list of results from a search and the other then displays details when one of the result rows is selected.
Even though the second grid has multiple pages the page numbers are not displaying at runtime (they can be seen in design mode) so I can't page through the information. The paging is all fine on the results grid and the properties appear the same for both grids.

I need to read a file on a server into a textbox. I did a test on my local PC, to make sure it works the same in a web app as it does on a desktop app.
The data appears to read just fine, but it doesn't display properly. The test file in the screenshot below, shows how the data should be displayed. When using a desktop app, the data displays just like this.
But on the web app, I get this:
Although the TextBox appears to be MultiLine, it only displays the data in the middle of the box and as one line. Am I missing something?

I am retrieving a word 2010 document that has been uploaded to a sql 2005 database. When I subsequently download and open the document in a word window it states the file is corrupted and gives the user the option of repairing the file for display. This always works fine but the corrupted message is always presented for all DOCX files. The DOC files from an older Word version work fine without incident. the section of code, VB.NET, for streaming the document out to display in Word is:

Where the content type value, in this case, is "application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document" (rather than "application/vnd.ms-word").
The filename is simply the full name of the document and the data itself is loaded into the Bytes var. I got some time back... it just doesn't like the new and improved word 2010 files.

I have a database table and the column that has identity specification set to true is not displaying in numerical order. Whether I use Server Explorer and use Show Table Data or I create an application to view the contents of the table using a DataGridView I see that column displayed with the numbers often though not always in a non-numerical order.
Does it perhaps have to do with the way the rows for that column were added or would it be something else. I was looking at the properties for that column but don't see what I would change to make the rows display in numeric order.

I'm showing a small table with a list of usernames, and I want an ActionLink next to each username to Edit the user on another page.

The usernames display correctly, just the link doesn't show up. I'm not sure why it wouldn't throw an error instead.What am I missing here?

well the question is simple but i searched all over, found crystal reports found many tools
but the problem is
i cannot use an other tools, or libraries other then the default with vs08 sp1
i cannot use crystal reports, as its datasource is dataset or xml none of which is there
my page on users click of button generates a html table and info within using c# code behind (i.e. at runtime) so how to write this stream to browser such that it becomes a valid pdf file?

I have a form with several textarea elements. User enters data and submits the form. On the next page it shows submitted text as static text - in p tags. Obviously New Line and multiple paces get ignored and everything just shows in one line. I can do some preprocessing like replacing New line characters with "br/" and spaces with . but I was wondering if there is a standard solution to that either on server side (C#) or client side (javascript)

I created a page that receives an html report from post data. This html is split up into pages and displayed in divs (as well as used to create a .pdf file but I don't think that is a security risk if the displaying it isnt a risk).
My concern is that I had to set ValidateRequest="false" in order to be able to do this. If the page somehow received malicious input with a serverside script or something, would the script run / could this be dangerous?
This is how I'm handling the request: I have a div with runat="server." Then, in the page_load event (i'm using vb.net codebehind) i set the div.innerHTML property to a modified version of the html received via post.

I need to display html text (terms & conditions) on a page. This text comes from an external html file. The reason for this is so the text can be changed as and when needed in the external html file and web page would display the up to date text. Also html will also handle text formatting.

I'm working on a pretty basic little site that has content that is populated from a sql database. It's important to know that the data in sql includes some html (bolds, italics, ordered lists,etc). The problem I'm running into, involves the search results. On the search results page, I display the results from a sql query in a gridview. The sql query only returns the first 200 characters of the "Description" field, and then there is a link to click if the user wants to read the full description. The problem I'm running into is when the gridview tries to format the data that has an opening html tag, but no closing html tag (becasue the closing tag is over the 200 character limit.

I'm using the ajaxcontroltoolkit htmleditor to create blog posts for my website. The editor works fine when entering a new article. When I click the Bold button, the text appears bold. When I hit enter, the editor creates a new line, etc. However, I also use the htmleditor when I want to edit a preexisting article. The problem I'm receiving, is when I bring a preexisting article into the editor, it displays a mess of html tags rather than the clean, formatted text.
For example, if I type the following into the editor:
...when I go to edit it, it shall appear as:

Is there any way to force the editor to display this text properly when editting rather than showing the html tags?

I have a gridview with 1 field that is setup to display my clients content from the DB. Within their console, i have setup to allow them to enter that fields data with HTMLEditor.The field is setup with HTMLEncode = true but anything done to the text is being displayed as actual html code on the site, so all the html tags are shown and so on. Nothing has changed on the site now for about 2 months( with the actual .aspx pages ) they are only allowed to update the content. Can anyone tell me what i can check or change to insure that the content is displayed correctly to the browser?here is the aspx code for that field:
