VS 2010 - How To Write List Of Objects To CSV File

Mar 13, 2013

Nothing I find on the Internet is working.This is the closest I've gotten. It produces an output file without exceptioning but the output file has blank lines. But it's the correct number of blank lines.

Code:
public void WriteCSV<T>(IEnumerable<T> items, string path)
{
Type itemType = typeof(T);
var props = itemType.GetProperties(BindingFlags.Public | BindingFlags.Instance)
.OrderBy(p => p.Name);

I have recently updated from web developer 2008 express to 2010 and notice that the drop down for server objects & events that is included in the 2008 edition does not seem to exist in this edition. I have tried all the settings and switched on Experts settings and imported all the expert settings but to no avail.Is there a different way to select events in 2010 version (I was using it to import procedures mainly for validation).

VS 2010 - Incorrect Font Type And Sizes As Well As Objects That Are Not Correctly Aligned

May 2, 2013

My published site's pages appear to be unformatted, i.e. incorrect font type and sizes as well as objects that are not correctly aligned and of incorrect width when browsing the site with IE10. On my development platform, Windows 7 Professional using Visual Studio 2010 Professional, running in debug mode and also using IE10 the entire site appears perfectly formatted.

I've already confirmed that all CSS files and the relevant connection strings area correct and ensured that the font being used is installed on the hosting platform.I just used my MacBook and browsed the published web site using IE 9, Chrome and Safari - the site displayed and functioned 100%. I repeated the same test using Safari on iOS and again had perfect results. It thus appears that the problem relates to IE10.

Forms Data Controls :: Binding A Repeater To A List Of Objects That Have Child Objects?

Nov 17, 2010

have some Objects, lets say Employee and Role defined as below and I have defined relationships in my database that gives me a list of objects say employees and thanks to my framework each employee object also has a Role object linked via the RoleIDID, UserName, Password, Email, RoleIDRoleID, RoleNameSo in code I can do something like this

Employee emp = dataService_GetEmployeeByID(1);
string RoleName = emp.Role.RoleName;

Now here is my problemI can bind any object in a repeater and it works fine for the first level in my relationship

For instance <%# Eval("UserName") %>

But I need to be able to show the details for my child objects as well (Role) so something like this (which does not work)

<%# Eval("Role.RoleName") %>

Architecture :: Using Static Methods To Build User Objects And Various Other Objects?

Jun 21, 2010

firstly a static class only ever exists once and is not an instance. Any static members (ie static int NoOfPeople;) is stored in one place and is shared between all sessions (like the old global variables).
Now static methods is where i'm not 100% sure. If I have a static method that doesn't use any other static members could this cause inconstant results, example (this is a fairly pointless method but just a quick example of the top of my head)

[Code]....

So in this example if two sessions (or threads) were to call this at the same time - would they both get back the expected results, because the method only uses private data (a, b and totalToReturn).Im sure this sounds a little simple but I will be using static methods to build user objects and various other objects that there will have to be a 100% garentee that the objects will not get mixed up between sessions and the wrong things return to the user.

Web - How To Implement Floating Licenses

Nov 26, 2010

What would be a good way to restrict an ASP.NET web application to only serve a given ammount of concurrent users? Some requirements are:

Application requires login (no need to worry about anonymous users). Multiple servers support (farm / load balancing). An active user can be considered to be the same as an active session (not signed off or expired). Additional logins must be denied if the maximum number of concurrent users has been reached. Accountability is needed (administrators should be able to see who the active users are). Minimum overhead on each web request (especially avoiding costly trips to a database on each request). Total number of concurrent users should be kept correct even if a web server hangs, disconnects from network or has to be restarted. Additional servers are available to host services (e.g. application servers).

</ContentTemplate>
</asp:TabPanel>
<asp:TabPanel ID="TabPanel2" runat="server" HeaderText="TabPanel2">
</asp:TabPanel>
</asp:TabContainer>
</asp:Content>

Here is the css for this code segment:

.searchcriteria
{
}
.searchresults
{
clear: both;
}
.criteriacolumn
{
float:left;
width:500px;
}
.criteriarow
{
width:498px;
height:24px;
padding-bottom:2px;
}
.criteriatextbox
{
padding-top: 3px;
float:left;
width:285px;
}
.criterialabel
{
width:200px;
padding-right: 6px;
text-align:right;
float:left;
}

I found a possible solution here: [URL], but I'm hoping for another option before I give up on having a border.

Reading A Floating Decimal From A Text Box With $

Jan 2, 2011

eliminate a comma when reading a sales price from a text box.

Dim SPnc As String = Regex.Replace(txtValue.Text, ",", "")
Value = Convert.ToSingle(SPnc)

However, I am still at a loss to find out how to eliminate the $, which I believe is a metacharacter with a special meaning. If my user enters $100,000, the value is read as 0.

Write .NET Regular Expression For Floating Value (5,2) ?

Feb 8, 2011

i need to write a regular expression for float value (5,2)

As per my understanding (5,2) means

Total length cannot exceed 5 digits i.e. 999.99

Digits before decimal is 3 and after decimal is 2 i.e. 999.99

I wrote this: ValidationExpression="(^d{0,3}[.]?d{0,2}$)" but this is accepting 9999 and 99999 which is wrong because in both case before decimal is more than 3 digits.

Wizard Step Buttons Keep Floating Above Test

Mar 6, 2010

This must be something very simple but it is drivning me nuts. I have standard wizard with a couple of wizard steps in it. In some steps there are a gridview and in some there are just some text boxes and labels. All is working fine but the step buttons - they are floating in the middle of the wizard step above my content (gridview etc). How to force them to the bottom of the wizard step? I have tried with creating a template - doesn't work. Tried all possible settings... I guess I could always add buttons manually but then why use the wizard if it doesn't work.

Web Forms :: FieldValidators And HiddenDivs And Update Panels - Floating Login Div

Jun 11, 2010

I am having a weird issue. I have a floating login div that I set visible through javascript/css when someone clicks the login button on my app. I have 4 field validators on that div. when I click the login button with all 4 required fields blank, the *'s that I chose as the required field validators text property show up fine and the summary text shows fine as well. But, when I cancel out of the div with the text still showing, the div hides and a couple of the validators text is still visible overlayed on my site. Its strange because the summary text dissapears just fine.

Dynamic Data Be Made To Work With Custom Business Objects Rather Than Data Objects?

I'm working on a project in which we have a database, data layer (entity framework), business layer and web/UI layer.I want to use ASP.NET Dynamic Data for the web layer, but don't want it to access the data layer or database, as I want it to be purely running off business logic, and not directly accessing the data.However, it appears that Dynamic Data only allows Linq-to-SQL or entity framework data sources to be used.Has anyone used it with business-layer objects instead?

Visual Studio 2010 - 2010/Windows 7 -> Can't Connect To Development Server?

May 18, 2010

I have a clean installation of Windows 7 with VS2010 RTM and am trying to get the ASP.NET Development Server to work. When I run the project, the WebDev server starts and shows that it's listening on port x on localhost. I've tried:telnet to the port. The port is not listening. running netstat -o shows that the WebDev server is in fact not listening on any port. manually changing the WebDev port to a different port and restarted VS without effect. I have Windows Firewall turned off entirely and am not running any other firewall software either.
