I had to reload vwd 2008 express and sql 2008 express on my laptop. After loading cannot launch vwd, get this error message. Can anyone please suggest a remedy "Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to a failure in starting the process for the user instance. The connection will be closed."

At first I had trouble with thew relay-ost.secureserver.net, but now when the submitt button is clicke on my websiteI get an error message that says that there is an error in my "ContactUs.aspx.vb" file on the line containing "mailClient.send(message)" . Should I change that line or the code in the line that it referes to. I have ran "Debug" and fixed all errors in the page, but it just will no work on the website.

I created an asp.net application, and it worked on my local PC. I was using Visual Web Developer 2010 beta.
Then I uploaded almost every file (not the sln and suo files) to my shared-host unix website. This Unix website is supposed to support asp.net.
But I got this error:
Server error in application. Could not load file or assembly 'dave' or one of its dependencies.This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded Does this mean my version of the net.framework is too advanced? Or maybe the version of Visual Web Developer? Or some other reason?
I am using VS 2005.When i was opening my VS 2005 and i tried to open web appication view designer.But it is not working and it is showing a warning message "Entry point was not found".

When I hit F5 (to debug) it displays "Error while trying to run project" message. I am able to debug console and windows service applications. Recently I installed VS.NET 2010 (.NET Framework 4.0). View 2 RepliesI just started getting the error message "Unable to Connect to the ASP.net Development Server" when debugging a website with VWD 2008 (everything was fine in the past). My system is Windows Vista with Windows Live OneCare firewall. I have reviewed other postings related to this problem, and they indicate firewall setting problems - settings not allowing VWD internet access. However, my settings on the "Windows Live OneCare Firewall Advanced Settings" tab specifically allow VWD.
View 5 RepliesI noticed these errors while building my project (Image#1), but wasn't able to fix them until I declared all of them in the Code behind file (Image #2).It worked fine & I cleared all the errors in al the pages in Visual Studio, BUT the code wouldn't work right on the webpage (Image #3).With this block of Web Controls commented out, I get 3782 errors as you can see below (Image #1). When these blocks are Uncommented, that number goes down to 3755 (Image #2) and eventually clears all error messages.Can anyone assist with this annoyance?

I created a web application using visual studio 2010 / MVC2 / MSSQL 2008 and it runs fine in my laptop. However when I run the application in the hosting provider it shows the error message below:

The hosting provider is [URL] and the link to my web application is [URL] I would like to know how to solve this issue? If anyone know PLEASE let me know how to troubleshoot / fix this issue. Also in case the problem is on the hosting provider, let me know if you know of a free or very affordable hosting provider with support for MVC 2 and MSSQL 2008.
If I build my project and there are errors, the build fails, and for the last 4 years I've been using Visual Studio the error list panel has always popped up showing why the build failed. Now, the tab for the error list panel is visible at the bottom of my screen, but grayed out, so I can't click on it. This started happening yesterday. I've tried rebooting, the project build is set to Debug, and in the Tools/Options/Projects and Solutions menu, "Always show Error List if build finishes with errors" is checked.

I downloaded and installed VS 2010 Ultimate as a trial and I received "sucessful" message at the end of the installation.
But when I opened VS 2010 Ultimate I received this warning "The 'Visual Studio HTML Editor Package' package did not load correctly.' error message".
The next thing I know is that all the Toolbox icons are grayed out (I tried to create a .NET web application). There is no design/split pane.
I am just started working as a programmer last month, so there will be plenty of newbie question come from me, stay tuned... I am now working on modify the provided template (from DevExpress) to create new web form using ASP.NET 2.0 on Visual Studio 2008.

In my page I displayed all of data from my data table.
every row has the image which will delete itself(not only row but also data from table) in its last column.
When I click that image I want message box or alert to come say that "Are you sure want to delete?". When I click "yes" I want it carry my row Id to controller.

"Unable to start program 'http://localhost:1443/Default.aspx'.
The system cannot find the file specified."
I am stumped here and cannot find anything out there with this error.
Is there any way that I can get the list of All the available shortcut key options listed from within IDE itself in Visual Studio 2008/2010? Because every time I used to bing and find on web for that.

I've got an ASP.NET website that has abotu 10 projects makign it up which are compiled into DLLS and in the bin directory. ReportingContents is one of these projects. In the past I have had success in copying over a new version of the files (dll, pdb and xml) to the bin directory and recycled the app pool and it just picks up the new version on its own. This time I thought "I shouldn't have a debug version on the site" so I built as release and just copied up the dll and xml files and asked our deployment people to remove the pdb.When I was told it was all done I tried to access the site and got the above error message.The thing that surprises me is that the assembly it mentions is "Delete ReportingContents" and I don't know where the "Delete " might have come from in there.
I have read about Ajax Control Toolkit that should solve pop-up window requirements, but I need a solution that doesn't involve me downloading this. I have an editable FormView from where I want to pop a "warning window" whenever the user clicks a button that closes the Form. This "warning window" should have the following controls:
Label: "Do you want to save changes?"
btnPopSave: "Yes" >> triggers databinding of FormView fields to datasource, then closes warning window and the FormView
btnPopClose: "No" >> closes warning window, and FormView without databinding
If this is not possible (or too complicated), I think I can settle for just a warning window with:
Label: "Make sure you've saved changes." and no other controls
btnPopClose: "OK" >> closes warning window, and FormView
I need to show a Warning message when a Product is about to Expire
or before the expiry date of product or atleast remind him before expiry.. like Reminders.
