i am in the process of creating a restful service with WCF, the service is likely to be consumed by at least 500 people at any given time. What settings would i need to set in order to deal with this.

I have xml document and wanting to pass it through wcf restfull service, i am able to do that by using string format i mean i can pass the xml as string param in the restful service and it worked but now my xml document becomes huge so if i pass it as string then it gives URI long error. any way i can pass the huge xml document through the WCF RESTFul service.

I am creating new WCF service and i would like to do two way XML for communicating with third party vendors. My wcf service get the request from the outside program by means of URL and it should response accordingly.
Example - I have url which third party will call and put xml as a request, i have to get that xml, work accordingly and response back with either success or failure and appropriate xml. I need to make it completely automatic so anybody can call that url, it will validate that user and do the next step of request and response.
We are consuming third Web services.
Instead of using datatypes from web service proxy we need to create our own class which will take the values from web service output.
Since the web service data types are so much deep,we are facing lots of problems to create our cutom classes.
Is there any tool available to create classes directly from web services in ordered way....

I simply want to create a fairly basic REST service, so that I can expose some of the data in my asp.net/SQL server application to the outside works, like this.....
http://domain.com/api/offices - would return an xml set of office locations. http://domain.com/api/offices/15 - would return all the details of office 15.
It's all fairly standard stuff (including basic authentication) but there seem to be several ways to achieve this using Microsoft technologies and I don't really know where to start. These seem to be the options...
1) WCF
2) ASP.NET MVC
3) ADO.NET Data Services
4) Rest Starter Kit project templates?
Which of these is the easiest and most "up-to-date" solution to creating a web service?
I wont to restrict my web service only for few domains.
I wont to have access to web service from using ajax and my page, and I don't want that anybody can create client to my WebService and view my web service methods.
I have to define a web method which will fetch XML documents from another web service based on the list of projects from the database. Now I need to send these XML documents in different SOAP envelopes. XML documents can be more than one.

By reading on internet I have learned that it can be implemented using HTTPHandlers. The problem is, the request will come in as a POST request. And I want to URL to be like:

View 2 RepliesA customer reported that our asmx web service is continually increasing in memory (mem usage as well as private bytes). We are able to reproduce the problem in our lab with Windows 2003 Server SP2 (fully patched) on some of the machines. The customer is using Windows 2008.
We created a Hello World web service targeting the 2.0 framework built under VS2005 SP1 and a test client that continues to call it. The memory increases steadily - approximately 40K per client request. If the test app is paused, the memory remains the same. When it is closed, the memory drops. Explicit calling of GC.Collect does not drop the memory.
We have run the memory profiler on the service and the leak is all native memory. We have uninstalled/re-installed the Framework on one of the machines but no difference. To our knowledge all of the security and IIS settings are not modified. We have compared app pool, default web site and virtual directory properties to machines that have no problem and they are identical.

The error comes up frequently enough for the user - normally reproducible within a minute or so of working with an application.
A bit of background: An user is a remote user accessing application hosted on our servers over https. He is software firewalled and his connection isn't the fastest but it is responsive enough. When errors do not present themselves, page loads are fairly quick.
